Short Story ─ Barbara's Memories

In a dingy office with a mountain of documents that were overdue debts, stood a beautiful older woman with blonde hair, red eyes and huge breasts.

She is Barbara, the villainess mother of the villainess Elize from this otome game world.

Barbara was sighing as she stirred her cup of coffee.

She had been sleepless for several hours, trying to cover how to pay off a recent debt.

"This is bad, even if I ask for a loan or to be given more time, it would only make a new debt grow."

That made her more depressed and she slumped down on her desk, resting her breasts before her to serve as pillows.

Barbara sank her face into her breasts so she could feel something soft and not the cold wood.

"This is the worst. No. Of course there's something worse, that today just happens to be Valentine's Day."

"And for an old woman like me to spend it alone and bitter too. I swear that when you come back I'll kill you Alvin."

Barbara's ex-husband fled the country leaving a debt impossible for her to pay.

Deep down, she thought that one day her husband would come back begging for forgiveness, beat the hell out of him, then force him to pay the debt and finally let him go back to sleep in bed.

Barbara was a woman who had known her ex-husband since childhood, they grew up together and she thought that meant having a destined person.

But one day that image was shattered and only sadness arose.

As she was trying to relax, she played with a pencil.

"Eli must have it better than me. She shouldn't worry about anything, just about living her teenage years in peace."

Her daughter Elize, or Eli, was the legitimate heir to the duchy.

She was betrothed to the third prince of the empire years ago.

It was only a few times that Eli would go to the palace to play with the prince to better forge their relationship.

But after getting into a large debt, she stopped going because of how expensive it was to travel from her home to the palace.

And before she knew it, Barbara fell asleep.

As the hours passed, someone entered the office and placed a blanket over her.

It was her daughter.

She was at the academy and due to a problem that occurred, she temporarily returned home.

Eli sat close to her mother and started telling her about her school life.

"Where do I start... well, it's not like there's anything important to say."

"Some girls in my classroom were the daughters of some of my father's associates, they ignore me due to the fact that they think I'll leave them in debt too, hehehe, don't you think they're cretins?"

"Then there are the teachers, due to the fact that my education was not a first class one, there is nothing I can do to answer the questions that according to the other kids are very simple, they make me feel like an idiot."

"Then there's the prince's group, I don't know what's wrong with him, but lately he's been very distant, before we only spoke to each other a little but now he seems to want to avoid me, I wonder if I did something wrong?"

"Among them, the ones I dislike the most are Jake and Lambert, Oscar and Bellange not so much, but those two are really irritable, especially Jake since our houses have never gotten along well."

"And, to top it off, last week I had a chat with the student a commoner at the academy, can you believe it?"

"Me neither, I think, if it had been the me from the past, just for fun I would have teased her, it makes me feel like an idiot to have thought it."

"And also..."

Eli gripped her mother's hand tightly at the next name she said.

"I met Razel again... the idiot who was the one who caused all my misfortune, I swear I'll beat him one day."

"Well, that was it, so rest well mom, I promise that, by the end of the semester, I will bring you good news."

"Here's your present I was supposed to give you daddy."

*kiss*

Eli gave her mother a kiss on the forehead before leaving the office.

Barbara opened her eyes and then gave an answer to her daughter which left.

"You shouldn't worry about me or the house, it's my business as the head of the territory. Besides, Razel? That's the first time I've heard that name."

"But for some reason, I think it's a nice name, Razel. If I'd had a son, I'd name him that, fufufu."

"Gee, what a thing to say, I'd better get back to work."

Barbara did not realize, that day she wished for something so strong, that surpassed the barrier of time and space, managing to meet days later this Razel.

But that story will be for another time.
