Steve rushed down to Joan's parents' house immediately she told him her father had died. When he got there, he followed the doctor to deposit Joan's father's body in the mortuary. But because of the way Joan's mother was wailing when they were taking her husband's body away, the medical doctor had to give her a tranquilizer to help calm her down. And Before Steve left with the doctor to the mortuary, he made sure to call Victoria and his sister to come stay with Joan, so she wasn't alone.
When Steve came back to the house, Joan was sitting on a sofa with Victoria and Lilian by her side.
"Welcome back," Lilian said to Steve.
"Thanks," Steve gave Victoria a curt nod and she responded with a nod. Joan on the other hand didn't say a word to him. She was just staring into space and wasn't speaking.
"Mummy is upstairs with her mom," Lilian said to Steve.
