Joan sat staring at her parents while she was still trying to grasp what they were trying to explain to her. All these years she had a brother and no one ever told it wise to tell her about it? Several times she had told her mother that she wished she had a sibling, and not for once did her mother mention to her that she had a sibling somewhere. Why did they keep such information away from her all this while and then choose now to tell her about it?
"So if I get you correctly when you and mummy had issues in your marriage and she moved out of the house, you started having an affair with the woman that your sisters wanted you to marry?" Joan asked her father.
"Well, it wasn't really an affair, it was more like a few days thing," Joan's father said. "It was a mistake."
"And that mistake led to the woman getting pregnant and birthing you a son?" Joan asked.
"Yes," her father replied.
