By the time Joan closed from work, she was exhausted. After having a meeting with the financial team of the company, she discovered they wouldn't be able to pay all the money the tax office was demanding they pay within a month. They will need more than a month to be able to pay up, more like a year.
Joan was having a headache from brainstorming all day. She needed to find a way to get them more time. Chima was the person who could help her achieve that, but he was angry at her. She knew he would not be willing to help her.
"Is there anything you would be needing me to do for you madam?" Joan's assistant came into her office to ask her.
"No Nkem, you can close for the day," Joan was kneading her forehead as she spoke.
"Is everything okay madam? You don't look well," Nkem asked with concern as Joan continued to knead her forehead.
"I'm okay, you can go home," Joan replied. She needed to rest her head.
