The next day after Joan left Victoria's place, she went to see her mother. Her mother asked her to come over so they can go over some of the wedding details together.
"I still don't know why you insist on having only a court wedding, why don't you want to have a church wedding?" Joan's mother asked her.
"Mummy that is what Ayo and I have decided that we want," Joan replied. She didn't see the need for them to have a church wedding when it was going to be an open marriage and they both not going to be committed to their vows.
"But you know Reverend Madike is ever ready to wed you the two of you. He was even asking me the other day if you and Steve won't be coming for his pre-marriage counseling sessions?"
