Chereads / ENCLAVE OF KINGS: HEIR'S RETURN / Chapter 13 - Status update

Chapter 13 - Status update

In response to his request, a screen appeared before Aliester. His eyes widened with disbelief at the information it contained.

[Status]

Vessel: Aliester Verbena Alcove (20)/ Transmigrator: Aris Hausen

Race: human

HP: 290/350

MP: 380/550

"The HP and MP had changed for a bit, but it still remained in the 3 digits." Aliester muttered to himself. "Is this guy really human? His stats are high."

He then proceeded to the next line.

Social Position: Son of the Duke of Alcove, Nephew of the King of Verbena

Affinity: lightning and thunder.

Special skill: could use 1,000,000 volts in a single attack.

"Wait? What?! 1,000,000 volts?" his eyes almost bulged out. "Last time it glitched with on xxxxxxx as the number.

[Answer: You can use an average of 10,000 voltage because of your bloodline.] Zarame said. [Normally it would only be thousands, but the increase to million voltage might be due to the unsealing earlier and probably because your soul is not from this realm.]

Aliester asked. "Does that mean that I can use large voltages in my attack?"

[That would depend on the amount of MP that you have.] Zarame answered. [Your abnormal status is still there, so you might not be able to use that million volts.]

Aliester looked a bit dejected after receiving such information. "Geez, I thought I would be able to use an OP offense magic. But to think that I still won't be able to."

The young man looked at the screen and found the eerie red abnormal status. "I want to get rid of that stupid abnormal status curse."

"I think you can find some loophole for the curse." Raiha voiced out. "There is a grimoire own by a Head witch of Nightshade's Grove. You may be able to find something about breaking the abnormal status and how to bring the princess here."

"Again, the witch…" Aliester sighed.

As a child from Fahren, he had heard fictional stories about witches who ate children. In the shows that he had watched as a teenager, witches are mostly evil. So, the concept that he have of witches were negative.

But then fragmented memories from the original had assaulted his mind.

His predecessor had been talking with Mephisto and they were set to escape Verbena through the Forest of Silence. The original young master was not even fazed nor frightened about meeting a witch. He had indeed planned to go to the Head Witch of Nightshade's Grove to ask for help.

Aliester's shoulder sagged. " I don't want to meet a witch. For sure, this is bound for trouble."

he left the issue aside and read the rest of the information.

Job skills: archer, hunter, swordsman, bomber (NEW)

"Was the improvised mana explosive counted as a bomb?" Aliester muttered. "Kind of unexpected."

Skills: charm resistance, mapping, mana manipulation, electricity manipulation

Background info. Partially unlocked.

"I can finally read some parts of the background info!" he excitedly said.

"I unsealed some of the memories and abilities, so there would be parts that are accessible." Raiha said in a matter of fact tone.

"I have already the basic background." Aliester said after perusing the information. "What do I need to do?"

"As I have said before." Raiha's golden eyes bore on the young lord. "you have to make sure that the princess will be brought back to this realm. Prepare everything you can so that the heir can return to this land."

Aliester would have ask more question but Raiha held out his hand as if stopping him.

"I have to go. I could no longer stay for long. I have broken several rules for helping you. You just have to rely on your comrades and Zarame for help." Raiha's body emitted light and he gradually changed into a thunderbird.

"Your first mission is to retrieve the grimoire." Raiha flapped his wings before he took off. "make sure to survive and complete it!"

As the thunderbird disappeared through the skies, Aliester grumbled. "As usual, he did not ask me, if I had agreed to take this mission. Well, it is not like I could no anything about it.

The dark sky was already turning into lighter as the sun was about to rise.

"I haven't had a wink of sleep and I guess I won't be able to rest." He looked at the surviving knights who were with him.

"I just hope that we would be able to accomplish the first mission without any casualties."

Days after the attack in Cupula, Aliester and the rest of his companions found themselves inside the Forest of Silence.

"This is beyond weird." Aliester muttered as he scrutinized things in that area which for him does not make any sense. "These are supposed to be herbs, and yet they are towering above us."

He found it perplexing that herbs in that area are like trees. The mint which only grew a few centimeters tall in Fahren, have overgrown to almost five meters in this forest.

The group had been trudging through the Forest of Silence for more than five days and had encountered several wild beasts that they had taken down.

The creatures did not surprise Aliester but the surrounding niche left him bewildered.

"Is this your first time, deep inside the forest of Silence?" Ertz asked him.

Based on Aliester's memories, he had ventured through the forest when they hunted down beasts, but he could not recall these parts.

"I have been in the other parts but this place is unfamiliar." The young lord replied vaguely.

"This is already the path towards the Nightshade's grove." Ertz said. "that is why things are different in this area. We are near the kingdoms of Marjoram and Azalea, so we have to be careful."

Before Aliester could ask, Zarame provided him with the needed information.

[Information: Nightshade's Grove is the place where casters have made their home in the past. When Marjoram had exiled all of its casters, they have formed the Nightshades grove to be their sanctuary.]

'home in the past?' Aliester asked. 'how about now?'

[Answer: since Marjoram welcomed the casters back in the reign of the new ruler, most of the casters had resided in the kingdom. There may be some who remained here.]

Aliester was a bit apprehensive since he knew that they need a witch's grimoire. 'Zarame, are casters good or evil?'

[Answer: it will depend on the coven and on the type of thaumaturgy that they are using.]

Before he could acquire more information, The group halted after Ertz told them to.

"We have to stop here, young lord." Ertz turned towards Aliester. "Only a select few could enter Nightshades grove."

"What?!" Aliester was shocked to know that they would not be able to enter as a group. He wanted to stay together to avoid casualties, but it seemed that it won't be possible.

"We can only enter Hemlock and stay there as non-caster guests, but the other parts of the grove are forbidden especially for those who are non-casters." The elderly healer informed.

'Hemlock?' Aliester muttered.

[Answer: Hemlock is the trade center of Nightshades. It is the only place accessible to non-caster who purchase magical items. To put simply, it is the market.]

Aliester nodded. "We don't have much choice."

Ertz held up a circular amulet towards a century old tree. The vines that hung around the tree part and revealed a wooden door.

The elderly healer knocked for three times and the door opened. The light from the other side was bright and the noise which was akin to a marketplace filtered through their ears.

"Shall we?" Ertz held his hand towards the door.

As they all entered, their eyes widened.
