Chapter 11 - chapter 11 he's bad at being a kid (work in progress)

the movement of soul energy was so violent that even the protector that was in her glass box felt it, and was now laughing heartily in the room with the triangular table, after a while, she sent a message to the trio "this little monster was born to cultivate soul energy, an event like this just for a green level promotion, tsk comparison really does make people suffer"

the three of them were still in shock when the sudden message woke them up and Vincent said "that was soul energy wasn't it?"

Andrea responded "yes, it was so concentrated and violent that all three of you should have felt it"

the trio nodded and both them and Andrea went back to what they were doing, Daniel gave them so many shocks that they learned not to make a fuss about it, he still hadn't opened his eyes, so they fought he was consolidating his earnings and waited to ask questions

Daniel was feeling his changes, his fought were clearer, and he could think much faster than before, together with his natural perfect memory he couldn't wait for the next lesson tomorrow, he could also feel the fun ball had changed, but he couldn't be sure how, for now, all he knew is that their ability to process information seemed to have become even faster

when he finally opened his eyes, the family wanted to ask but he didn't have any answers, he didn't do anything willingly and just went with the flow, he wasn't even aware of the commotion he created

These answers obviously brought another shock, other people were crying blood for a minimal improvement and he didn't even know how he did it, might as well sleep instead of reading while he cultivates

the next morning he woke up in the egg with a smile, and the 3 and a half years old Daniel, was calmly having breakfast in the yard while reading one of the library books like nothing happened, this one talked about a civilization whose technology was so advanced they could do things even cultivators couldn't, and he was really interested in it

even without the couple telling him, through school he had at this point discovered that he could not cultivate, his condition was lightly mentioned in a biology lesson together with many others, he simply put together the description of the 'seal' with the fact that he grew older of a year altogether, and the 12 months in between stayed the same, but he didn't ask the trio and neither felt the need to, his interest was in science anyway and this just cemented that decision, with this seal he had all the time he could wish for to study and have fun with it

sadly the book only told the story and didn't explain the scientific principles, but what Daniel cared about was that it was possible, after all, the story written in it was not fantasy but ancient history

Daniel was still unaware that one of the most advanced and terrifying technology was in the ball that was dangling from his neck, the knowledge about the nanites was a military secret, so the history lesson never mentioned them in the chapters about the war with the replicators, in those the replicators were described as a metal based humanoid lifeform, so if it wasn't present in his school courses he wouldn't know about it, and yes with the inspiration he had from creating funball5545, the nanites ball became a fancy accessory in real life after he asked his parents

Daniel wanted to know how the technology that was talked about in the story worked, maybe if possible even build it himself, but both the knowledge in university and the library only contained, a few basic principles of science, and where mostly a collection of, how to magically make stuff happen with spiritual energy, centuries, if not millennia away from that level

in reality, Daniel was unaware that the technology described in those books was much further away than a millennium or two, and since he didn't want to wait that much time, as a good impatient youth Daniel did what all babies do best, for the first time in his life he started to throw a tantrum, sadly he wasn't very good at it

later before lunch, Daniel exclaimed "the school it's useless, it isn't teaching me what I want to know, at all"

the trio was a little confused, after all for them it didn't make sense, the knowledge in university was quite complete, in the end, Vincent was the first to ask "I don't understand what it's lacking, after all the sun federation it's a very advanced cultivator civilization, the amount of knowledge in our schools it's envied by all our neighbors, they even send their children to study in our universities"

Daniel said "see this" pointing at the book "what they teach in school is how to solve everything with spiritual energy, but here they talk about ships who take energy from a quasar, engines so powerful the ships can cross hundreds of galaxies in seconds, but I searched all around in the virtual academy courses there's nothing like this"

Vincent finally understood, his nephew liked the technological wonders in the book and wanted them, so he said "that level of technology it's lost in the known universe, the scientific civilization always have an expire date, once the smart ones die of old age, it's not assured that their children will be able to keep up, and most of the times those civilizations just perish with time"

Daniel said "you mean that those who do not cultivate have short lifespans, or in any case, one that it's nothing compared to a cultivator"

Vincent nodded, and Joseph added "not only that some of those civilization ends up literally destroyed by bombs or robots they created, but I also heard one was wiped by a fungus they developed as a source of fuel, he gained sentience and killed everyone, to take the planet for himself"

vincent continued "most scientific civilization have something they are very good at, for example, the one that invented your personal device has a very good communication technology, but lacks in every other department, after all the most advanced one we know of, for now, can at most compete with a seventh stage cultivator with their technology, and it's still nowhere close the level you mentioned"

as the president he obviously knew more about it but didn't want to make it too complicated, he also didn't want his nephew to be sad, so to give him hope he said "there are some pieces of scientific-based technology we found around in space in the family vault, but I have no idea what they are, we just threw them there"

Daniel's eyes lit up and said "can I have them?"

Vincent thought for a moment but it was too soon, he had an idea and smiling said "when you graduate, I'll give you access to the vault and also tell you a secret" daniel wanted to insist, but Vincent was unmovable, so he just decided to wait and finish school in the shortest time possible.

for cultivators this type of technology was useless, if it wasn't for Vincent's habit of picking up good-looking junk cough I meant souvenirs, there wouldn't be any

the cultivator's "technology" was based on formation and spiritual energy, so these things were no different from scrap metal to recycle for them

while they were eating, Daniel was making plans for school, while the trio was thinking about how to make this kid slow down, so everyone was quiet, suddenly an idea sprouted in Vincent's head

VR games had this sort of scientific setting, before they didn't suggest it, because they wanted Daniel to continue to cultivate his soul, and not spend his time playing, but the kid was too fast, they expected him to reach green soul at 5 after the incident with the nanites that doubled the amount of energy he required but he was still 3 an half years old, so he sent a telepathic message to the couple and said "I think we should introduce him to a VR game"

Phoebe replied "I heard people get addicted to those, and stop living their real life"

Joseph said "I think it's ok, if he continues like this, before he becomes 10 years old, he will probably already have a blue level soul and every certificate existent, maybe playing games will help him be a kid for real, this was the first time he had complaints and in the end, we resolved it talking like adults, but he still isn't 4 years old"

Phoebe nodded and the trio started to covertly surf the net, looking for a game that would attract Daniel attention

in the meantime, Daniel finished eating and went to his room, after he cracked the egg, and entered the virtual academy

it had changed a lot from when he first went to school, Daniel's desk was further away from the blackboard, which was now much bigger, and in front of the humongous blackboard 5 clones of professor Jellybot were giving 5 different lessons at once, but today the five professors were too slow for him, he opened the options tab again and added a professor, the desk moved a little back and the blackboard grew again, but it was still easy, so he added and added, till 10 professor jellyfish were giving 10 different lessons together and the noise of a talking crowd came out of them, but Daniel was just following the lessons like it was normal, he was even a little dejected that he reached the limit and couldn't add more professors, so he raised the speed till he reached his limit again.

at this moment in a server on verulus, an old cultivator looking like a 70 years old cross between a human and a bear, was shocked, someone who was not even 4 years old was listening to 10 lessons and even the speed was almost up to the limit, even the playful children who have no will to study don't have the guts to do something like this to make the lesson go faster

but then he looked at this student's records and decided he would live a better life if he minded his own business, this kid was following 5 lessons with a perfect record till a moment ago, so there was a chance he breakthrough and wasn't faking it, he decided to keep an eye on this student and went back to his work

in the meantime daniel saw the suggestions tab, he opened it and wrote "the maximum number of simultaneous lessons it's not sufficient, it would be useful if their number is increased to at least 15" then sent it.

the old man was keeping an eye on him, so he immediately received the suggestion and after reading it he wanted to cough up blood, but when he was about to give this kid a piece of his mind, another exam started and he passed it again with a perfect score, the old man froze for a moment and remembered the perfect record, then started to work in upgrading the number of lessons that could happen simultaneously "15 hahaha, I'll give you 20 let's see if you can keep up" he said while working, he wanted to see what the kid limit was.

in the meantime Daniel was following the lesson, hoping that his suggestion would be taken into consideration
