Chapter 3 - COMPROMISE

Deniz and Zara, both didn't know that their destiny had tied them together. They proceeded to Arnaud mansion like dummies. It was a darned day. Even bloomed flowers were unfortunate. Zara looked out from the car window. She had been experiencing the worst period of her life. Deniz observed her for a while. At the moment, she looked back and both beheld each other until Zara felt uncomfortable to do so. She turned her head to roadside. Deniz went to a dilemma too.

"We're going to meet my mom. Let's meet the media tomorrow." Deniz told her to make the atmosphere cushy. Zara nodded while checking her phone.

When the taxi stopped at the gate, someone came running to open the gate. It was a huge mansion that was totally different from traditional French houses. That had been designed according to Korean architecture. Zara found it wonderful to visit. Since childhood, she habituated to design houses. Even she had a great collection of different houses in the world.

So, even before stepping down from the taxi, she asked, "this belongs to the Korean art, right?" "I have studied about their architecture in the college. They do amazing work."

"Did you come here to do a research? Don't overreact because I brought you here." Deniz behaved harsh. "Follow me closing your month." He went in.

Zara obeyed silently and follow him to a luxurious living room. Camillie and Alina were sitting there. When Zara entered with Deniz they started observing Zara's head to toe. Zara was quite afraid to look at them. So, she kept looking at the shining floor.

"Are you analyzing the quality of floor tiles?" Deniz asked Zara.

Zara became silent without a try.

"Behave well Deniz. She's a girl not your toy." Camillie scolded.

"You're Zara, right? Lisa told us about you. You are good at interior designing. I saw your personal file" Camillie greeted Zara with a smiley face.

Zara never thought of meeting such a kind hearted person. So, she kept smiling. Deniz was looking at her. He hadn't seen her so well before.

"One thing more to added, you have such a charming smile." Alina joined her mother in law.

"Thank you" Zara showed her condescension. She smiled with full of her heart.

Deniz felt it wonderful too. He remembered her fragrance that came through her nightdress. He lost in that moment until Camillie called out him.

"Deniz, come and sit here" She showed him a side of her sofa. "Zara you too, sit."

Deniz sat closer to his mother that was opposite to Zara.

"I don't ask you why you went to the hospital Deniz. Lisa told me everything. Problem is, outsiders know that too."

"I went there, disguised, mom. No one recognized me." Deniz tried to explain.

"But that was in the social media Deniz. Actually, I was amazed when I saw your photo with Zara at the hospital." Alina described the matter. "Grandpa is aware of everything more than us. He's returning today."

"Social Media? Damn it. Who did that?" Deniz was furious. "Being a celebrity is a crime today. Need permission for everything." He complained to himself.

"With your stubbornness, you'll ruin everything. You've never listened to us." Camillie looked worried. She wasn't someone to get angry easily. But on that day she was..

"Giving false statements to the media won't change anything. It can worsen the situation sometimes. I'm fed up with your actions Deniz. I didn't nurture you like this." Camillie scolded him after a very long time. Deniz felt sad too.

Zara was mute even without a smile. It was like that she was expecting her turn to be blamed.

"Zara.." when Camillie called her, she got fluttered and dropped her phone.

"Zara, I don't say you did a good deed, but your situation is acceptable. I know some people were chasing you."

"I'm extremely sorry Mrs. Camillie. If I thought a bit more ahead that day, you wouldn't face this shame today." Her voice was faded and she looked extremely worried.

"Forget the past. We'll find a way to solve this. How is your father?"

"He's having treatments now. Hope, he'll be better soon." Zara relieved her heart.

"Deniz, I'll talk with dad. Until then, no more dramas. You, go to your room. Peter will drop Zara." Camillie got up saying and walked to Zara.

"Zara, thank you for letting Deniz to stay at your place. He is arrogant, but not bad." Zara said nothing to her words. She just smiled while looking at Deniz. Deniz looked at her too.

Zara bade farewell and left the living room. Camillie and Alina were seeing her leave.

"She's innocent mom. I feel sad about her." Alina told to her mother in law.

"I felt the same Alina. Neither she has money nor job, but still she smiles."

"I asked Deon to find a job for her. Deon is worried about her too." Alina added more.

"That's great. Thankfully, I have got a good daughter." Camillie embraced Alina.

Deniz was in his bed watching the news of his and Zara's. He started thinking of her while watching. He could easily go back to their first meeting. On that day, she was in a white gown with full of fragrance. And, her embrace was so endearing that he could easily remembered. His heart expressed to himself, 'it had never fluttered, like on that day'. Even her tweets gratified his mind for a moment.

Deniz was thinking and thinking. He dallied half of his day thinking of her. His feelings were complicating that he couldn't find anything peaceful.

"Why am I thinking of her? She has ruined everything. I must think of Esmee." He blamed to himself.

"David sir is calling you." Paul came to Deniz.

When he stepped to the salle, he was surprised to see Zara there. Albert, David, Deon, Camillie and Alina all were present. Deniz didn't hope to see the atmosphere like that. So, he was shaky.

"Hello, young master!" Albert greeted him loudly.

"Hi grand pa!" he replied smirking.

"I wanted to see you badly. So, I came. Aren't you happy to see me?" Albert asked from Deniz. He sounded restful.

"Of-course grand pa, I'm happy. Perhaps I wanted to hug you too." Deniz hugged him and remained a while.

Even David was amazed to see his father's neutral behavior.

"I encountered Zara on the way. So, I thought of bringing her here." Albert expressed while sitting.

"Grand pa, the problem is…. Media. They are reporting without solid proofs." Deniz told.

"Without proofs, you've given them enough proofs. And still you find it simple. Deniz, your dad was like you at your age. But he never did anything wrong."

Deniz had nothing to say except listening. Even David was silent. Albert blurted.

"There's a way to this problem. And at this moment it's the only solution I can think of"

"What's that dad? Directors are behind me since yesterday. They are urging me to expel Deniz from the director board." David was worked up by his father's words.

"David, I think of getting them married. Then media will shut down." When Albert expressed everyone except Zara were surprised. She was told by him earlier.

"What are you telling grand pa. I don't like her even I don't know her. I can't do this. Esmee loves me. I can't betray her." Deniz was messy and angry of his decision.

"Don't talk about Esmee, Deniz. I called her first of all when I heard the incident. I asked her to cover the situation, giving a statement to the media. But she refused. She told me that you should solve your problems and she would no longer worry about you." "If she agreed to me and pretended as Zara's friend, we wouldn't have to bother today." Albert explained his true intentions to solve the matter.

"I never liked her. I accepted her because you love her." David declared.

"I love her dad." Deniz was sad.

He felt like he got insulted in front of Zara. He walked out fuming. Deon got up and followed his brother. Zara was watching all of that family drama. She didn't want to get married either. So, she wished that Deniz could do a miracle to stop it. When she came upon Albert, she couldn't refuse his offer since he had promised her to take care of her father's medical expenses and loans. But her heart was shaky. She didn't wish to have such an arrogant husband.

"I'm sorry dad, but I don't like the idea." Camillie broke the muteness.

"I agree with her dad." Even David supported her. "I don't think this will help. And I don't want to ruin this girl's life." David pointed Zara.

"You both don't understand Deniz or this situation. He chose to be a singer to entertain his life. Neither earn money nor popularity. But it destroys both our money and respect. I can't answer to all those stupid questions of media." Albert emotively said.

"I can understand dad. But…"

"My decision is better for now. I'm sure they'll find peace with this marriage. So, no need of new chapters." Albert left the salle. All remained puzzled. David had lot to discuss but he didn't add to the topic. He cogitated few minutes and got up.

"Alina, make arrangements with mom. We don't have much time for the wedding. Ask Deon to call the church and settle down the things there." David commanded her and went following his father.

Camillie was very upset because she knew that her son's heart. He was reluctant to argue with his grandfather as he loved him a lot. But this decision made him shuttered badly.

"Hey Deniz, what's up man?" Deon went to Deniz who was in the garden. He was sitting beside the pond.

"Grandpa is too much Deon. I didn't think he would solve the matter like this."

"Deniz, I know, this decision looks a shackle. But I guess this will be the best."

"As far as I know my brother, he's cold, arrogant, stubborn. So, he should get a kind girl like Zara. She's pretty too" When Deon was describing, Deniz was glowering at him.

"Get ready Deniz. Something good appears in bad times too." He stated more.

Next day, Albert arranged an interview with news channels for Deniz and Zara at the hotel. So, they were getting dressed in their rooms. Zara was with Alina in the guest room. She was dressed in a red evening gown. Alina was helping her with makeup, hair and other stuff. Zara looked extremely beautiful with that new avatar. Alina was beholding at her without a wink.

"Zara, you look wonderful. I hope Deniz find it too." She told her.

Zara smiled.

"Don't be shaken today, you must do your best."

"Sure.. I don't like to add more problems to you all." Zara replied.

"Oh my god, who's this?" Camillie came to the room with Deniz who was flourishing in a dark brown kit.

"She's charming. Right Deniz?" Camillie enquired while he had been losing in her beauty. Zara looked into his eyes to hear a compliment. They were seeing at each other's eyes forgetting the audience.

"What charming. This is a joke. My fans won't believe this drama." He mocked at Zara after returning to himself.

Zara felt sad. She was happy a moment ago when Alina praised her.

"Deniz, whatever happened forget it and move on. She's your fiancée now. Don't forget that." Camillie told him seeing Zara's darken face.

"Ofcourse Deniz, you both will make a good pair. I'm pretty sure about it," Alina also interrupted.

"Keep this knot until you returned. Show them your chemistry." Camillie handed over Zara's hands. He caught them tightly. Even though Zara felt ache she kept silent.

When the couple arrived, there was a big crowd. Not only the media, but also Deniz's fans were there. They were bad mouthing about Zara with baseless stories. They didn't seem to be happy seeing them together. Zara got down following Deniz. He extended his hand, because he was afraid that she could fall stepping onto her long dress. Since he demanded her hand, she felt relieved too. It was her very first time, facing to cameras and flashes.

"Deniz..." there was a hug fuss.

"Deniz…, tell us more about your marriage? Is it true? You can't marry her." His critics were raving. All of them looked dolorous to see their dalliance.

Zara was timid and uneasy, she indeed tried imitating Deniz who was smiling at them. Deniz waved his left hand which was tied with Zara's right, simulating the affection between them. Zara looked amazed.

"OK friends.. let them to come in" Lisa came out from the hotel.

"Thank god you came Lisa. I didn't want to hold hands." Deniz told her while walking to the conference room. Zara followed them few feet behind.

Lisa laughed. "You have to continue again before entering to the conference room Mr. Deniz. And, you two are going to hold onto each other forever." Deniz smirked when Lisa told that.

"Let's see...." He replied.

"So, Deniz tell me why are you rushing your marriage?" one reporter raised his voice.

"Because you are troubling me enough." All were surprised when Deniz replied that way. Zara was distracted too.

"Don't worry I won't sue you." Deniz spoke matured smiling. "Actually, Zara and I were dating happily. We had decided to marry next year. But you guys left us without any option. Ever since you have found out about us, you're peeping into our personal life. It's really troublesome. So, we are rushing the marriage."

Reporter shut his mouth up. He didn't dare to ask something again.

"How long have you been dating?" Another questioned.

"Six months."

"But on the anniversary party Esmee declared that you were going to be engaged." He further asked.

"I'm sorry. But I can't comment on other's statements." Deniz said to the reporter.

"Don't you know her?"

"Why not, I know her since college. We're good friends. But I can't say anything for her statement, because her emotions belong to her." Deniz was handling the media perfectly. Even, Zara was staring at him.

"Zara.., I want to know why you agreed to marry him suddenly? Do you share such a deep bond? We know that he spends nights at your house. So, is there some special reason?" The question was directly asked that could make Zara, numb and shuttered. She felt like being offended. Deniz pressed her hand secretly to awake her.

"My dad is suffering from a cancer for a long time. He's in hospital. So, Deniz helps me because I don't have anyone beside him. On that night also he came to give some medicines." Zara said calmly.

"I don't need reasons to delay our marriage even my dad wants to see it." She added more. Deniz felt easy. Zara had well prepared for the battle.

"Deniz did your family agree for this marriage?"

"Why not, if a family get someone like Zara, I think anyone will agree." "She's caring, loving and a kind hearted person."

Deniz replied looking at Zara. She smiled looking at him too. It was like her eyes did some spell on Deniz he remained glancing until got disturbed by a question, "Zara, what did you find special in Deniz?"

"To me, everything that comes with him is special, he may look stubborn but he's darling. I love his family too." Zara expressed with love. Her eyes were sparking as never as before.

They were on the way home after facing so many questions. Zara was sitting next to Deniz but looking at the Eiffel tower. Eiffel was flourishing through small now pellets. Zara felt missing those old days that she had fun with her friend Jade.

"You did well today." Deniz told.

"You did it well too Mr. Deniz." Zara repeated his words.

"There's something, you should know. I know you're not happy with the marriage. Even I hate this. I want Esmee." "So, I'm thinking of making an agreement."

"Agreement?" Zara inquired.

"We'll do a fake marriage. Not only the media even my family shouldn't know about this. When the problems are over, we'll get divorced. Until then, you can live in my house as a guest." Zara's whole world turned into dark after hearing that. Even though, she was unhappy with the marriage, she didn't wish for such a situation. Being raised by her father without having mother's love she had quite experienced a miserable life. So, she had thought of having a good future one day. But, Deniz's oppressive words revealed a sordid destiny for her. Neither she gained love nor happiness with that agreement. But unfortunately, she didn't have any right to say anything, so she nodded her head.

"Since you have proved your skills today, keep acting for few months in front of my family. And don't ever think of being my wife. That place belongs to someone else." Deniz proceeded.

"When you leave, I'll give you enough money, go away from here and live your own life without getting into my way again." It sounded like a threat. Zara started thinking.
