Deniz never had such an awkward night in his entire life. He sat near the window in his room second floor.
His phone rang several times, so he picked up. It was Esmee on the other side.
"Who's she Deniz? Who's she?" Her voice was broken. She might have been crying so long.
"I don't know Esmee. She was in a trouble. She came for a help. I just…" Deniz tried explaining. But she interrupted, "All could see that Deniz. When my friends told me about you, I didn't trust them. I'm a fool right" She cried hard.
"If you want to break up, you should have told me. But no… you like complicating things. Even after I have announced our relationship to the media, you did such a…er… I don't want to talk. I hate you." It was no longer a grievance. She vented out her anger and disconnected the call. Deniz tried calling her but there was no use of it. It was switched off.
Deniz was furious, he threw the phone away and switched on the television. By the time, some news channels had been telecasting the scene. He lost his temper and started chucking out things. He took a Whiskey bottle from his cupboard and boozed the half of the bottle. At that moment all he felt was to avenge from Zara who was the reason behind.
"I'll destroy you" He promised to him-self looking at the mirror. He wasn't embarrassed in front of media so far. So, he felt like being disgusted. Camillie and Deon tried calling him on their way home. But Deniz was fuming in anger even he couldn't find his phone around.
Camillie came to his room as soon after returned. She wanted to clarify the incident before getting too late to take actions and was afraid of David's anger as well.
"Deniz, what happened today? My baby please, explain." She asked calmly.
"I don't know mom. She is a disaster. I'll definitely take care of her." Deniz replied aggressively. He filled the glass again and sipped one, two times.
"Deniz, don't make dad angry. He's already bearing enough of your stubbornness." She told while caressing her son. But there was no positive reaction from Deniz. He was such a cub since childhood.
At that time, Deon came to the room raising his eyebrows. Camillie nodded her head.
"Hey man, don't say, you don't love Esmee.." Deon sat near Deniz. "Right mom?" He even looked back to their mother.
Camillie smiled hard. Deniz didn't listen him at all. He continued drinking. Camillie snatched his glass and tried to get him into some senses.
"Don't be a child Deniz. Tell me what happened? Then we can find a solution. Not only you, we all became so embarrassed today."
"Look at your brother he still tries to cover up the news." She showed Deon who was in a call with his secretary, Lisa.
"You know grandpa. If he figures out this, he'll be very disappointed."
Even though, Camillie had so much to say, Deniz was not in a mood to hear out.
After sometime, he took the car keys and left the room.
"Deniz.." Deon tried to stopped him but, he was so fast that couldn't hear.
Camillie was in a deep thought. "I don't know what your dad's reaction will be. He thinks Deniz is behind all this."
"I don't think so mom. He's not aware of that girl. She joined us recently."
"But dad is angry." She added more.
"I know, he asked Alice to expel her. She won't meet us again."
"What! Poor girl. There may be some reasons for her to be there."
"Yes. She was being chased by two men. So, she had gone there to hide." Deon told her in a sad voice. Like Camillie, he was soft in heart.
"I tried to stop dad. If we expel her it can be a big news for media. But he isn't in a mood listen."
Deniz came out the house and went to the park. His car was not there. He summoned their butler Paul. "Paul, Paul.." he screamed.
David came instead of Paul. Deniz was surprised.
"Dad, did you come despite the party?" he spoke out of inebriety.
"You made me come early right. Now where are going in this hour? Aren't you enough of the drama today? Do you want more?" David was fuming. "You're drunk. And still want to drive? Deniz be an adult. You have spoiled enough." He scolded along.
"I didn't do anything dad. And I'm not drunk. I'm going to meet Esmee. She is very upset." Deniz got into the argument. He was not sober to hear David. Just he wanted to flee from his father's nuisance and unravel the situation.
"Deniz, I shouldn't hear anything against you here after. This should be final and you should rectify the things alone. Don't even think of using my people." David reprimanded and went in snatching his car keys.
There was a small hail outside. Deniz got into his brother's car which was parked next to his father's and drove away. He had no idea about a destination when he entered to the Avenue Victor Hugo. He just missed Esmee and proceeded towards her house which was 40 minutes away.
"Mr. Deniz, I have sent the Zara's location. But she may be in hospital now. Her father is not well."
Lisa's message was popped up in the phone's display. Zara's house was on the way to Esmee's. So, he thought of going there first. He boozed again while driving. Even though he was hot-tempered, he never acted this far before. But that day he had become a hasty bloke.
Zara's house was old. It should have been built in early 80's. There was only one light flashing outside the veranda. Deniz was looking at the house without getting out. Thirty minutes had passed, he was still in the car while drinking. By the time he was intoxicated without a doubt. Deniz got out from the car when the cold hail falling heavily.
He rang the doorbell several times.
"Coming…." He recognized her voice. It was weak as earlier.
After few seconds door was opened. And that moment became so miserable with cold gale. Zara was quite amazed to see him. She couldn't believe her eyes and became numb for a while.
"You…" Deniz fell onto her unconsciously.
He was heavy that Zara couldn't manage. So, both fell on the floor. Zara groaned in pain. Deniz's sturdy body was on her that she couldn't move a bit. Zara had to struggle harder and harder. Eventually, she escaped from Deniz's big arms that were robust. Then, tugged him to the sofa after putting all of her effort.
He was murmuring insanity. No word could be understood by Zara. She tried waking him up.
"Excuse me, can you hear me?" But he didn't.
Zara didn't have any contact in the company except her new boss Adam. So, she phoned him to inform about Deniz. But the line was busy. She recollected the way they reacted with her, when they found out about the incident in the party.
"Why did you go there? Do you know who he is? He's the youngest son of Mr. David. You have spoiled their party. Get ready to answer.."
She remembered Adam's reeling off behavior. Due to that incident she had lost her job over a night. She got into some thoughts but there wasn't time to ponder. She called Adam again before the situation getting worsened. It was twenty past eleven, in time. And Adam was busy answering to media, so he couldn't answer the Zara's call. So, Zara had no option except letting Deniz to sleep in the sofa.
She lived alone there after her father had been hospitalized months ago. Emmanuel was having the treatments for his blood cancer. Ever since, Zara had been suffering from financial issues because of the medical expenses. She worked in few restaurants during the college too. Even before completing her degree she joined an interior designing firm. But unfortunately, that firm collapsed down.
Zara's alarm kept ringing for 10 minutes. But she was in a slumber. She had forgotten that there was a guest in her house beside her. So, she came out of her room wearing a negligee. Until she was clutched by Deniz she was half awake.
"What am I doing here? What do you want?" Deniz snapped at her.
"Mr. Deniz please leave me." Zara requested with full of fealty.
"Tell me first what do you want from me?" He pressed her hand hard and pushed her to a wall. She writhed not being able to evade. Her brown eyes were teary.
"I'm sorry Mr. Deniz it was my helplessness to come to you. Please leave me. My hand is paining." She begged while crying.
At the moment, Deniz looked into her eyes which were shining with tear drops. Even though he was totally irritated with her, he felt exhausted to argue. He released her hands. Zara glimpsed a while then narrowed her eyes down. Her feminine fragrance was similar to lilies. Since, it was same as the previous night, he backed fearing of getting closer to her.
"Aren't you happy enough to ruin my character? You want to flirt with me, right?" Deniz raised his voice, looking at her dress. Her slim body was naïve than usual that day. She hardly replied.
"I didn't do it purposely Mr. Deniz. Even I didn't know you were there yesterday."
But he didn't seem to be listening. He took her phone and dialed his number.
"Save my number. You're going to pay the price of my status. This is just the beginning. Get ready to suffer." Deniz dictated her and drove home.
When he returned, David, Camillie, Deon and Alina were having breakfast. Even though Deniz was hungry he walked to his room before getting noticed by David. He called Esmee and couldn't believe when answered the phone.
"Esmee, I'm sorry sweetheart. But I'm not at fault. I just met her yesterday." He justified the incident.
"Sorry for which one Deniz? For your embracing or for spending a night together?" Esmee recklessly replied.
"Spending night? my foot. Are you crazy Esmee? Think before speak."
"You can close my mouth Deniz, not media's. Every channel is showing about your love interest. Watch, when you're free. And don't call me ever." She disconnected the phone in a flash. Deniz was distraught not being able to patch up.
"Happy?" David enquired him behind. Deniz rotated his head to see his father.
"Dad" He sounded remorseful.
"Should we arrange a party? You must celebrate, being the head topic of the day." David expressed in a cold manner. He was completely annoyed with his youngest son.
"I banned you going out yesterday night. But you went behind my back. Now, see the results." He threw a newspaper to his bed.
It was clearly stated that Deniz was having an affair with Zara. There were some photographs of them either. Some were taken at Zara's house. Deniz was speechless.
"They are exaggerating things dad. I don't know her."
"If you don't know, why did you go? To let the media to publish new stories?" "Your mom called you many times but you didn't pick up. You were there all the night. And you want us to believe your nonsenses." David scolded him.
"Don't blame media Deniz. They just report what they see. This time no support from me. Grandpa is coming tomorrow. Find a solution before that."
David trod out from his room closing the door hard.
Deniz was more upset to see his photos with Zara. He had never dated a girl from her level. Though, there were plenty of rumors about him, half of them were fake. He never considered them because all were completely fibs. But this time, it wouldn't be easy to eject, since, the media itself had proofs.
Deniz searched Zara's number to call. There was a long call log that he couldn't find it easily. He dialed her number but no response. He tried again and again.
"Hello!" someone picked up.
"Zara" Deniz greeted.
"I'm Zara's friend, Jade. She's busy right now. Can you call her later?" Jade responded hurriedly.
"I don't have time. Give her the phone immediately." He was emotive.
"She went to visit the doctor. Her father is in a critical stage." She told him boldly.
"She was trapped by the media because of her foolish boss, even she can't go out from her home. We'll stay here for some time, if you want, come and meet her" Jade disconnected the call and walked towards the doctor's room.
Zara was there with doctor. When Jade went in, she asked,
"Who called me?"
"Some fool with no name. He didn't greet or introduce. Just asked you."
Jade handed over her phone.
"Oh my god Jade! It's Deniz." Zara was afraid to imagine the situation. She knew he could do anything to take his revenge. Even though she was supposed to call him, she hesitated.
"Deniz Arnaud? Your foolish boss?" Jade wanted to clarify.
"Yes Jade. I don't know what his order will be.. He is a hasty person. Furthermore, I'm at fault."
"Oh my god Zara! I told him foolish." Jade hit her head on a wall. "Let's change your number and hide."
"Hide? Where can I hide Jade? Loan sharks are already behind me. He's more powerful than all." Zara said in a bated voice.
After disbursed all the money she had to the hospital, they stepped down to the ground floor. Deniz was in front of them without a notice. Zara and Jade were petrified in fear. Even they couldn't speak a word.
"Your friend asked me to come here, right?" Deniz looked into Jade's eyes. She was staring without a breath.
Zara looked at both his and her friend's faces.
"Let's go. You have to do something for me." Deniz said pulling Zara's hand.
"Leave her please. Her father is sick." Jade begged his pity.
It was Deniz who had lost his sense because of the media. He even didn't look at Jade and walked away with Zara. Zara followed him like a kid.
Jade was seeing them leaving the hospital.
Deniz wore his cap and glasses to avoid the media. He even gave another cap to Zara. It suited her well with her blue jeans and a red jacket. They both came to the parking gate and got into a taxi.
"Where are we going Mr. Deniz?" Zara questioned him.
"You have to clarify the incident to the media. I can't hide in these taxis every day." He sounded bossy. "Don't even think of messing up things. If you want to live peacefully, tell them what I say."
"I'll.." Zara's heart beat fast. She had nothing to do except obeying to this man.
"You have to tell them that you're indebted to me and I'm helping you with your father's medical expenses." Zara nodded her head.
"And, I came to give you money for the operation yesterday. So, you're really grateful. If you act well, I'll give some money. If not…"
"I'll do definitely.." She told him, before he displeased.
Deniz's phone started ringing. Camillie's name was on the display.
"Yes, mom. Why?"
"Are you at the hospital Deniz?" When she questioned, he was amazed to hear. He had come to the hospital without informing anyone.
"No, mom. I…"
"Stop giving explanations. Come home now." She ordered her son.
"Mom, I'm with Zara." He replied late.
"I know, come home with her before dad returns."
No one was aware of the future which was dark.
