Tian sat on a wooden chair without a backrest. "July was waiting for you in the living room." His two hands grabbed a bottle of water and poured it into a glass.
"Is that true?" David gasped. He suddenly pulled up an empty chair—put it next to dad—and sat down. "I thought, she fell asleep a long time ago." Guilt immediately arose.
"July has been waiting for you for over an hour. Because she was bored and annoyed, she finally decided to go into the room," said the father. "Where are you?"
David was pensive, confused about what to say. If answer honestly, his father will likely be angry. "I met an old friend. It won't be good if I refuse."
"Up to you, but next time tell me where you are going and what time you are coming back. Your wife should know."
