She doesn't want to keep thinking about Victor. So for some time, Vanessa was just in the library reading a book. Not alone, accompanied by Basil. Over time, she feel bored because almost read them all. She saw the title of the book one by one. No book gets her interested.
"Can you get a new book from the village?"
"What kind of book do you want, My Lady?" The servant asked.
"Tell the heads of the library. He will know what I want."

The servant gives a bow and then goes to tell the heads of the library. At that moment Basil comes with a tired face. He lay down on Vanessa's lap.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm bored." He took her book. "Let's go out from this mansion. Are you not tired of being in the library every day?"

I've been here all day. Maybe Basil feels bored because of me. He keeps showing me his begging face.

His face was filled with happiness instantly pulled her hand out of the library. He even locked the library door. Vanessa could only smile to see it. A big hallway with a window that shows the sunset.
Vanessa walking and Basil hold her hand. His face was thinking to open the window. He carried her, then jumped out the window. They both jump from one tree to the other.
"Basil!"
"Hehe...this is a fast way!"
Geez! Is he really an older vampire? He reminded me of brother Theodore. We continue to jump like flying in the sky. He took me to the big lake, in the middle of the forest.
"Isn't it dangerous?" She worried.
"Don't worry. No one wouldn't come."
Then they both enjoy the view of the lake together. A fresh air soothing. Vanessa did not regret going out of the mansion. Moreover, she see Basil who was fast asleep next to her. She could only shake her head. She's sleeping next to him and saw his sleeping face.
"Are you thinking about him?" Basil asked with his eyes still closed.
"A little bit."
"I'm curious about one thing."
"Curious...Curious about what?"
He suddenly woke up from his sleep position and looked towards the lake. I was wondered what's made him curious.
"You know...you and he is always together for ten years. I'm just curious that..."
His face was very serious staring at me.
"Are you like him?"
This sudden questions make me bite my lips. I spoke slowly.
"I..I.."
"WHO'S THERE!"
Basil reflexively protects me. There is someone watching us from behind the bushes. I could smell the strange scent from my nose. What's that smell? My vampire nose could numb because of this aroma.
"Show yourself!"
It feels like deja vu. I've been in this position before.
"Stay here. I'm going to see it."

Vanessa stops her imagination. She quickly run to him and hugged him so tightly. Basil blushed because of her behavior.
"Vanessa? What's wrong?"

"Alright, let's go home now."
He brings her back to the mansion. She's constantly hugged him, hiding her face. When we arrived at the gate. Her father, the Grand Duke was in front of the main door. He's heading in our direction and asked.
"What happens to her?"
"I don't know. She suddenly became like this."
Because her father feeling worried. He asked his assistant to cancel today's meeting.
"You can't do that, Your Grace."
But his father still wants to cancel the meeting. He does not want to see her daughter in a bad situation. What made her father like this? Why is he so worried? Basil wanted to help and will replace her father's work for one day.
Her father thanks him and take her back to the mansion. His mind kept thinking about Vanessa. Vanessa is just speechless to see her father's face. It's so weird that she suddenly feels something not right.
After Victor's accident. Vanessa can't sleep properly. She always dreaming about him. That's why her father feels worried. When they on the family private room. The Grand Duke close the door and open his big window.
"I'm sorry, father. I'm disappointed in you."
Maybe the promise with brother is...
"Is this really Vanessa we know?"

"Vanessa we know is strong and talented. All of those ten years. Everyone always talks about you. Even me...really wanted to see you."

She got up from her seat. Vanessa sighed slowly. The Grand Duke looked at the full moon. As the wind came into the room. Blow away Vanessa's long hair. Her eyes gleamed like diamonds.
"My daughter...The only family I have. I'm losing your mother and brother is because of my fault. I can't protect all of you. That's for all those ten years...I always thinking about you."
His father turned around.
"I always think about my daughter's condition. Maybe in the letter, you send to me every month said that you are fine. Father is always praying for your safety."
She knows that her father cares a lot. But she never heard a word like this from her father. She always thinking about him. Until she forgets that is someone else who cares about her since the beginning.
"Father...I'm sorry about what I do for you. I'm sorry...I'm such a horrible daughter."
Stop it, Vanessa. That's what I thought now.
"That's enough. It's not your fault. You've done your best. I'm will support your dream. Whatever you choose. Is your decision and... about..."
"About what?"
The Grand Duke comes closer to her. He held out her hand. Vanessa didn't understand what he wanted to do. He kissed his own daughter's hands with the utmost respect.
"Vanessa, the daughter of the Grand Duke. Are you ready for your next mission?"
