Chapter 5 - Assassins

Curious, he climbed to the top to observe it in more detail. Then she discovered that being around this tree made his mind calm.

Since then, he visits this tree every day to calm his thoughts and think of this area as his safe place.

Unfortunately, this morning just when he wanted to come to his little mountain, a group of teenagers suddenly interrupted his path.

Seeing the faces of the people who stopped him, poor Liam went into a grave state of fear. His body trembled constantly as his back broke out in cold sweat and he began to cry.

This group of teenagers were responsible for making their student life hell. They harassed, insulted and beat him every day at his school, without fail. Even outside of school the abuse didn't stop.

Liam developed an extreme fear of the leader of this group of teenagers named Jeremy.

Just when Liam's trip was interrupted, Jeremy didn't hesitate to beat him up after almost a month of not seeing each other.

This was because they had to choose an academy to attend after graduation.

Jeremy's parents had bothered him so much with different academies in the city and in other cities that he ended up too frustrated and irritated.

His group also had the same case with his parents. Then one day, Jeremy happened to contact his friends for fun after a long time.

"Hey guys, how about we go see that useless little shit?" Jeremy said with a smile as he spoke to his friends by group call.

"It has been quite a while. Yes, let's see it, I want to release some stress! "

"Of course, Jeremy! Damn, just imagining how relaxed he's been these days makes me mad. "

"I want to break a few bones in that garbage!"

"Understood. I've seen that bastard go out of town every day and go to a mountain. I think one of these days it will be there too. The forest is a perfect place for nobody to see us, hehe. "

After talking to his friends for a while and planning the time they would attack Liam, Jeremy hung up the group call as a sly and cruel smile appeared on his face.

After Jeremy's group and Jeremy himself beat Liam in the woods, they dragged him to the place where he used to meet every day and threw him under the oak tree.

"Don't miss us too much, maybe we'll see each other again one of these days, haha." Jeremy said goodbye to Liam as he laughed along with his group of friends.

At that moment, Liam's wounded body did not hear his words as all traces of life had left his body.

"The last memory of this body is falling dead in the middle of the forest." Liam didn't find it difficult to deduce what had happened after the previous owner of this body died.

To hide this incident, the group that murdered him threw his wounded body from him under the oak tree that he often visited to make it look like it was an accident caused by a monster.

What infuriated the current Liam the most was that Jeremy and his group didn't even make the slightest effort to get him to a hospital.

"Damn bastards! If I meet you again, I will make each one suffer thousands of times more the same as I suffered all these years! " Liam promised himself that he would make his killers wish they were dead.

One notable difference between the Liam of this world and planet Earth is that while the Liam of this magical world was cowardly and stupid, the Liam of Earth was cruel, fearless and intelligent.

The harsh life in the slums of his city had caused Liam's personality to change completely.

He went from being a simple innocent and kind child who did not know the cruel reality of this world, to one who would make anyone who hurt him suffer.

Eye by eye, tooth by tooth. This was Liam's main motto. He was never afraid of the consequences as long as he accomplished his goal.

"It's murder or be killed." Those words never left his mind when he fought a homeless man to the death over a spoiled pizza.

After a while of walking and rambling in thoughts of him and thinking of hundreds of ways to torture his murderers, Liam noticed a few details of the path that reminded him of the body he inhabited. "I'm sure it's around here."

After moving some annoying bushes and moving through trees, Liam saw in the distance what he was looking for. "There is."

At a distance of approximately two hundred meters, Liam could see incredible walls that measured 20 meters high and up to almost three meters thick.

At the entrance to this wall, Liam could see huge gates that were completely protected. Outside these, he saw two guards standing on either side.

The guards wore iron armor, or that kind of material seemed to be since Liam had no way of checking.

Each guard carried a different weapon in their hands. One had a sword while the other had a spear with a sharp point.

Again, Liam could not recognize the material of these weapons.

Yes, they could look the same as the minerals on Earth, but the glow they released from time to time indicated another possibility.

Liam did not jump to conclusions. Regardless of this topic, Liam focused on what was in front of him.

The guards who were on each side of the gates, were in charge of protecting this entrance / exit of the city walls.

This was according to the memories of the body that Liam inhabited.

"This is one of the few doors that few people use in the city." Investigating further into the memories of him, Liam discovered that hardly any person haunted these places.
