Chapter 226 - V.3-C.24│War IV│

"I have you now!" Mundi's eyes flashed the Sith colors of yellow and red for a split second before jumping towards Anakin and swinging his saber towards him, trying to take his head off presumably.

Anakin dodges this strike and successfully pushes Mundi back. "We are all alone now. What are you to do?" Anakin asked, taunting the Jedi to see just how far Mundi may go.

"Now that we are alone, I am to finish you once and for all!" Mundi exclaimed, having now the ability to actually try and take Anakin down.

"And how exactly are you going to do that? Are you unaware of your limits and my own as well?" Anakin asked, for he truly started to question Mundi's mental capabilities.

"Limits? I knew it! Only the Sith deal in absolutes! To think you are infallible." Mundi exclaimed and seemed to be making a point.

"I think you have gone a bit crazy there..." Anakin pointed out the obvious to Mundi, however this only seemed to activate his anger even more so than before.

"I think not!" Mundi replied, going in for a swing of his saber, intending to kill Anakin, but just like before, his saber is unable to make contact and instead Mundi is pushed back through a Telekinetic Force push.

"You will never be able to get me. Give up now and you may be able to survive unlike your friends you had brought along. Trying to kill me within my own home turf is kind of a bad idea, dont you think?" Anakin asked after pushing Mundi back, to further sow dissent within the Jedi Master.

"You are truly arrogant, aren't you?" Mundi paused for a second to try and poke his own holes into Anakin.

"Arrogant? How so?" Anakin asked a question of his own, as the two started to slowly circle each other.

Mundi is prepared to strike again, but it would seem like a dialogue with Anakin is more important to him for now. Maybe Mundi even believes that he could somehow take down or turn around the way Anakin thinks.

What Anakin believes in or other such thoughts, as Mundi may still have an inkling that Anakin may very well be the Chosen One. Mundi never disputed this fact much, but that didn't mean he didn't have his doubts especially now that Anakin is the way he is.

Even after information brought to light by Qui-Gon before he left very recently as well, stating that the Chosen One may not even be someone that would destroy the Sith. The Chosen One is only someone meant to bring balance to the Force, and this could be achieved through many means.

The first thing to do to have a balance however, would be the destruction of the Jedi first and then the destruction of the Jedi. With no Jedi and no Sith, there is only the two sides of the Force leftover.

"I have studied your people, your Empyrean, its culture and religion." Mundi said as he looked directly at Anakin as he said this. Mundi may not be a very emotional person, like at all, but he does have something he attests to above everything else.

That is the Jedi Code along with the Jedi religion in general.

"And? What have you discovered?" Anakin is intrigued, as a perspective outside of the Empyrean, regardless of whether it is from the Jedi or not is something he is not to often exposed to.

"Discovered!? Its a revelation! What I have discovered is of the utmost importance, which the rest of the Jedi dont seem to have taken any interest in whatsoever!" Mundi explained before continuing. "They know of you and your academy using the dark arts, the dark side of the Force. The Jedi, even Grandmaster Yoda knows of this and yet they still do nothing!"

"Then there is your people, supposedly your people for their entire culture and religion heavily depends on you. Your economy and entire governmental structure. Absolutely everything is under your control, and I dare say you are not too dissimilar to the Sith Lord, Darth Sidious!"

"Not too dissimilar to Sidious? You are comparing me with Sheev Palpatine?" Anakin questioned Mundi.

Mundi responded. "Yes. You and he may be different, yet you are both the same as well. Your goals of taking over and controlling people is the same. Don't think I have been unable to come to a conclusion regarding your antics." Mundi seemed to have calmed down during this talking.

However, this wouldn't last long for Ki-Adi-Mundi believed above all else that the Jedi are the only forces of good within the galaxy. Not that there aren't others within his mind, it is just that if there are those that are not buddy-buddy with the Jedi then they would be considered enemies.

Not that Mundi has any deep regard for those around him, as on more than one occasion he wouldn't mind sacrifices in the name of the 'greater good.' In fact, the supposed death of his comrades may also come under the facet of Mundi's mentally, that the Jedi that came with him would die valiantly because they died for the Jedi.

Even though Mundi's reasoning is different, specifically wanting to end Anakin, but that doesn't remove the fact that he is delusion in a sense. Being both so devoted, delusion but also sociopathic in nature, it only makes sense.

"What is it that you saw? You believe me to be a Sith? Or do you think I am something else?" Anakin asked, wanting to know more of what Mundi thought of him and his subsequent rule over his people.

"You are a tyrant! A tyrant over the minds of your people and those around you! Not only that, you are even worse than the Sith, for you are more powerful!" Mundi answered.

"So being more powerful makes me more of a threat to who exactly?" Anakin asked.

"I think that is enough talking. You are no god, no divine being and you are most certainly not the Chosen One! You have not brought balance, peace or have even made any attempt to destroy the dark side of the Force! No attempt to curb the Sith in their tracks with your power, where you wont even get involved with the current situation as well!" Mundi said.

Mundi continued. "For this, I see you as a threat greater than the Sith as not only your power is more, but so is your influence!" Mundi was done. Over with this conversation but he did have one last thing to say.

"You are no God." Mundi leaped once again to exchange Anakin in a duel between a Jedi and someone that didn't really have a factional name to call himself as.

"You are wrong." Anakin is able to deflect the blows using his hands in on themselves. He negated the energy generated by the saber Mundi has and is easily able to absorb such energy.

"You-You are evil!" Mundi tried his hardest to strike Anakin down, but no matter his attempt everything is useless in the face of Anakin's power.

Ki-Adi-Mundi was a Force-sensitive male Cerean Jedi Master of the Jedi Order who served on the High Council in the twilight years of the Galactic Republic and played a major role in several battles during the Clone Wars. Born around 70 years ago, Mundi was discovered at age four by the Jedi An'ya Kuro and became one of the few permitted by the Jedi Order to be trained starting beyond infancy.

After more than two decades as a Padawan to Master Yoda, Mundi was named a Jedi Knight and returned to Cerea to liberate his home village from a gang of raiders.

Assigned the Jedi Watchman of the Cerean sector, Mundi was granted a rare exception to the Jedi Order's ban on marriage due to his species' low birth rate and had a polygamous family of five wives and seven children, although he tried to avoid developing emotional attachments to them.

Like many Cereans of his generation, Mundi favored his homeworlds isolation from the galaxy, speaking out against off-worlder technology and encouraging Cerea to maintain their independence from the Republic.

Mundi was held in high regard by members of the Jedi High Council, on which he occasionally sat in during the absence of Master Micah Giiett. He was eventually offered a permanent seat on the Council despite not yet having obtained the rank of Jedi Master.

Mundi could be described as a person of faith in the Jedi, the Jedi Code and the light side of the Force. He is also someone with the least concern or care for life, his compassion being almost next to none.

At least he is skilled, and powerful in his own right for he is a fierce opponent to face off against. Anakin can attest to this fact right at this instance, for Mundi is trying his hardest to try and take Anakin down.

No matter if Mundi is right or wrong in the now, Anakin can still respect the determination, skill and effort Mundi has put into his craft. His lightsaber combat abilities are definitely above the norm, and so to is his ability to calculate things as well.

He is definitely someone whom could be considered smart as well, even though his decision to come after Anakin now could also be consider emotional in nature. It most certainly isn't but it is definitely fueled by something, something within Mundi that he has been without for a long time.

Yoda had finally made it to the hole, as it seemed like some of the ground is still open within the throne room. This is done on purpose and Anakin has set things up waiting for the right moment.

'Where is everyone?' Yoda thought within his mind before deciding to trust his gut feelings and his feelings within the Force as well that are guiding him somewhat towards the tunnel system underneath Sky Palace.

'Danger, I sense...' Yoda thought to himself as he started to actually see just where he is in contrast to other emotions or feelings he is also picking up on. Specifically he is feeling himself in proximity to the location Anakin and Mundi is currently at.

The energies within the Force were rampant and it seemed as if something was being strained. Pushed to the very limits, and Yoda decided that he should continue to make a move, but this time faster than he was before.

The Force had come to a standstill as if some major and grand moment is taking place.

Coming closer and closer, Yoda finally happened upon a scene that would shock him to the very core. He could not believe his very eyes.

Anakin and Mundi stood there, or more specifically Anakin stood over Mundi on his knees, kneeling before Anakin as Anakin had a lightsaber within his hand. More specifically he has Mundi's lightsaber within his hand and it is currently raised above his head starting a motion that seemed as if Anakin is going to chop off Mundi's head and sever it from his body.

Reaching deep within the Force, Yoda started to push and pull wanting to save his student from an inevitable death, but no matter what he did he was unable to use the Force against Anakin.

Not because he is powerless or anything like that, but because ever time the energy-field within the Force interreacted with Anakin and his physical form it would rebound. In slow motion, the lightsaber within Anakin's hand, ignited severed Mundi's head from the rest of his body.

Yoda closed his eyes, not daring to see something so tragic happen as this was kind of something he didn't want to see.

The look within Mundi's eyes were that of acceptance, but also of cold resolution and the next second everything went up with a boom. Yoda also sensed this situation, for it started to tickle his own danger senses.

He protected himself despite the situation, and instead Yoda wanted to know more about just what was going on.

'Too much, this is...!' Yoda thought to himself as he is now blinded by whatever light went off, however even after that light there didn't seemed to be any big rumble. Nothing to indicate an explosion of some sort had just happened, but there was also no noise to indicate anything else as well.

It seemed as if everything had returned to nothingness, silence and even the Force itself seemed to be at a standstill as well.
