Chapter 219 - V.3-C.17│Yuuzhan Vong II│

Many, many things were happening in the galaxy.

Wars were being started, some old confrontation between long, long deep seated enemies was playing out between the Jedi and the Sith in this mass civil war.

People being greedy and wanting to break away from such a conflict because it could harm themselves or harm their loved ones. Selfish and Selfless people were going at it as they tried to reconnect the dots with lines.

'Selfishness...' Someone thought to themselves.

Within a dank place, that one could only consider to be of bearable measures or standards for one to survive within. The stone and metal was cold, cold as the deepest darkest pits of space, dark and deep like the darkest of nights.

'Where am I anyway?' There was a person within this room, a place that would be considered a cell. A prison of sorts and this person was locked away within, awaiting whatever judgement is to come.

With some small flashes of light created through the prisons system now coming online, one would be able to identify this person within.

"A coward the Viceroy Gunray is, but powerful allies he used to have." A voice was heard somewhere far off from the cell the prison was within.

It was Nute Gunray within, while the voices some distance off was speaking about him. 'Who is the Empyrean Emperor to lock me up here!' The Gunray thought to himself.

Nute Gunray was a Neimoidian male who served as a stint Minister of the Trade Federation until he rose in power after the Stark Hyperspace War 22 years ago, eventually becoming Viceroy of the Trade Federation. It would be ten years after his succession to power, Gunray participated in the occupation of Naboo with the Federation Army to settle a trade dispute that began in the Galactic Senate.

With the help of Darth Sidious, Gunray invaded the planet to end the trade dispute and secured all facilities in the capital of Theed. He attempted to force the incumbent Queen of Naboo Padmé Amidala to sign a treaty to make his invasion legal, however she refused and the Siege of Naboo continued.

The Trade Federation soon surrendered to Naboo forces following the Battle of Naboo. Gunray was taken to the Galactic Republic capital on Coruscant to be charged with acts of war.

During the Separatist Crisis that following the Invasion of Naboo, Gunray confronted former Jedi Master, Count Dooku, who began a separatist movement that opposed the Republic. Dooku, who secretly was Sidious's Sith apprentice under the name of Darth Tyranus, helped him through his four trials in the Supreme Court, and soon after the trials, Gunray retained his position as Viceroy.

The Trade Federation, under Gunray's command, joined Dooku's separatist movement and Gunray was named Head of the newly formed Separatist Council and so formed the Separatist Army.

What would have happened was, Gunray, along with Dooku and his master, Sidious, formed the Confederacy of Independent Systems which opposed the Galactic Republic in a three-year war known as the Clone Wars that followed after two years of the Separatist Crisis.

Unfortunately for Gunray, he didn't last as long to reach that state during the Clone Wars, that had also come to an end.

"Viceroy... Well, you aren't really the Viceroy now are you?" A voice woke the Neimoidian up from his slumber.

"Who are you!? What do you want?" Nute exclaimed as he struggled to make out the person in front of his cell, but he was at least able to identify the person as a female human. "Leave me alone... I have nothing you would want."

"You have lost that ambitious and voracious desire to be above others... how... pathetic." The female human said, stepping closer into the light to further show that she was wearing some rather elaborate clothing.

Nute Gunray was born on Neimoidia, and like all Neimoidians, was brought up in the communal hive until the age of seven.

At which point, he and the other grubs were deliberately forced to compete for limited supplies of food, a system designed to weed out the weak while the most acquisitive thrived by hoarding more than they could eat. Of them, Gunray was one of the most successful.

Gunray remembered what Darth Sidious had once said to him about his early life. 'I realize that your voracious desires stem from the cruel conditions of your upbringing, you and your fellow grubs in ruthless competition for limited supplies of fungus.'

'But I understand. We are all shaped by our infantile desires, our longing for affection and attention, our fears of death. And judging by how far you have come, it's clear that you were unrivaled and continue to be.'

"You dont know what you are talking about." Nute said back to the woman.

"I think I do. I have read up on the information Ani allowed me to view, which was pretty much everything on you." The woman said the nickname 'Ani' with a strange tone that Nute would not be unable to displace.

"W-Who are you?" He had to know.

Stepping into the light, the woman made herself know. It was Padme Amidala Naberrie. "Recognize me?"

"W-Why are you here!? Why d-did you come!? Did your husband..." Nute said the word husband with a seething tone. "... send you here to deal with me?" Gunray was extremely brought to his limits, both physically, mentally and potentially spiritually as well.

"No. I requested Ani to allow me to deal with you myself." Padme replied as she leaned in, looking at the dying and decaying Nute Gunray, former Viceroy of the destroyed Trade Federation.

"R-Requested?"

"Yes. Requested. I went on a little trip with Ani, and have learnt some things with him there. Of course, most of what I discovered was about myself and my choices. Why I would do certain things and things that I would do again and again, if given the same choice over and over again." Padme seemed to reminisce about something.

Something that Nute Gunray didn't seem to like as it sounded a little ominous. "W-What do you mean?"

"You see... There is a balance to be maintained within the Force and because of this balance everything works. Once becoming Force-sensitive and learning more and more about the Force, more about Anakin and his role to play, and then the trip we went on... Lets just say that I have discovered alot and thats it." Padme replied.

"My decisions could have brought the entire Galactic Republic to fall, but at the same time it would have very little impact as well. My decisions within another lifetime may have doomed the Republic, slowed its destruction, completely destroyed or a whole lists of things that may have happened instead of what is going on now." Padme was monologuing.

"I am a creature that is selfish, whilst at the same time trying to be selfless. It is a contradiction, one that isn't exactly bad..." Padme looked at Nute Gunray a little more before she opened the cell.

"W-What are you doing!?" Nute was fearing for his life now, as Padme didn't seem to be coming at him with the nicest of intentions. In fact, there was this veil of darkness that seemed to be around her, coming out of her and swirling around, creating this feeling of helplessness.

"Like it? I learned this one from Ani..." Padme stopped. "In fact, I learned everything about the Force from Ani." She started to lift her arm and made a grasping motion.

Lifting Nute Gunray off of the ground, no one would be disturbing her right now as she was getting her revenge. She held a grudge against the Trade Federation, against the Viceroy Nute Gunray himself and now she has the chance to kill him once and for all.

Some may even say it is a blessing dying here and now because Gunray most certainly had to suffer within this prison that was not like the normal prisons meant for rehabilitation within the Empyrean.

"S-Stop..." Nute was struggling, grasping at his neck as he struggled to breath. "P-Pl-e-ase." Padme would have none of it however, and would instead continue to slowly increase the pressure.

She had learnt some techniques from Anakin, especially in the regards of utilizing the emotions of the one she is killing to empower herself. She needed her own training as well, and where better to start than a person she absolutely despised.

A thumping sound was heard.

It resounded across the multiple rooms, cells within this prison place and it was quite loud as well. Everyone within heard it, and scared of what this might entail, they didn't try to do anything.

Looking at the corpse of the Gunray, Padme had this strange look in her eye. 'I thought I would feel a bit bad...' She did get around the block, but most of the people she has killed before was non personal and detached.

This time however, it should have affected her a little bit and Anakin's words resounded within her head in this instance. 'Revenge is a powerful motivator, however once the revenge is settled, one is usually left with emptiness...'

'I dont feel empty per say, but that is probably because I have fullness from Ani's feelings and my for him.' Padme thought to herself.

"Come and clean this up. I should get back to home now." Padme ordered some guards, whilst also thinking to herself. 'Can't leave Ani hanging now. It is my turn to be with him tonight~' She giggled to herself as she was leaving, which unnerved the guards and prisoners alike.

They most certainly didn't want to get on Padme's bad side.

"Are you going to talk to me now? Like properly?" Anakin said towards a female. A particular female with very beautiful, pure looking looks, green hair and green eyes.

The woman, Eve just glared at Anakin in a show of defiance. Why one may ask.

Eve was a selfless being who cared greatly for her family, particularly her father. She was very concerned for the Father's failing health, and looked after him when he was injured by the Son.

In her greatest show of loyalty and love, Eve would have even threw herself in front of the Dagger meant to kill the Father, sacrificing herself to save him. This didn't happen however, because the Son would die due to Anakin, the Father would die due to his age and the Daughter, Eve would be left to live because of Anakin.

Despite their natures as polar opposites, Eve also loved her brother, the Son, pleading with him to stop his efforts to unbalance the Force and escape Mortis, and asking her father, even as she died, not to hate the Son.

"It has been two years now, or at least it has been perceived as such..." Anakin continued to try and talk amiably with Eve, but she wouldn't stop glaring at him. She seemed to think it was his fault for what had happened, even if this was kind of the way things were meant to be.

"It may have seemed like two years, however I assure you that it meant nothing to me." Eve finally replied, if only to be against him.

Eve was also a very compassionate woman, empathizing with the struggles of the stranded Jedi. She tried to help them as soon as they arrived by taking them to her Father, although she later participated in kidnapping Ahsoka and Padme as part of the Father's test.

Eve's compassion would have also been shown exceptionally in her final moments: she used the last iota of power in her body to heal Ahsoka Tano, and died content that she had saved her.

This time she didn't get that chance. "I wont apologize for what happened." Anakin said, implying things that Eve immediately understood.

"OH!? And what was supposed to happen then!?" Eve had a sudden outburst, specifically throwing herself at Anakin in some weird attempt to harm him, however she just managed to land herself in a rather strange position.

With herself on top of him and Anakin on the bottom. "I didn't take you for a top woman..."

"And what is that supposed to mean?" Eve didn't get up straight away, and instead preferred to stay in this position. Not that she would say this of course, and she was also kind of oblivious to things to do with things that relate to the baser needs.

"I am sure you could figure that out some other time." Anakin replied, as Eve finally decided to get up off of Anakin.

"Whatever. I dont want to talk with you anymore. Your daily talking limit has been reached." Eve said, still not over what had happened, despite also being the one to foresee that she and Anakin had some kind of future together back on Mortis before everything went.

"Look. I know what happened is devastating and all, however I would appreciate it if you gave me some sort of chance. You were the one to foresee this happening, and it isn't like I can take this back. Whatever happened disabled me from being able to block the connection as well, and now we are stuck with each other." Anakin said as he looked into Eve's eyes.

"... I guess..."
