Mars asked his father to let Caleb stay with him in the mansion and go to the same school in a few weeks. Caleb was nine months older than Mars, but they could get along. For many months, Mars looked calmer than before. Caleb did an excellent job as a friend. One day when Alena was in her impaired state of sickness, she called Caleb into her chamber. Both of them were inside and talking about Mars.
"I don't have much time right now, so listen to me very carefully, Mr. Konstantine," Alena said while sitting on the edge of her bed.
"Yes, ma'am."
"From now on, you are going to be Mars's bodyguard. Your job is to protect him with your life. Are you willing, Mr. Konstantine?" Caleb was shocked and had no idea about it all.
"But ..."
"You are not his friend, but you are a shield for him. And you have a job to protect him at all cost!" Caleb nodded eventually.
"Give me your promise."
"I promise, Mrs. King!" Alena smiled at him.
