Much later, the door to the ICU was opened and Ethan's parents stood up immediately. Bella was wheeled out of the room but she was unconscious. Ethan looked at her critically and asked," Doctor, how is she?" "She is fine. She is just unconscious due to anesthesia but she will wake up soon."
Just then, the nurse came out with a baby and his mother was quick to get it. "It's a boy," the nurse told them. "Where's our other baby?" Ethan asked them and the doctor said," You shouldn't worry Mr Carter. Your daughter is in the NICU and it will take only a few weeks. She wasn't as healthy as the boy"
Bella was taken to her room and she was laid on the bed carefully. When Ethan saw that she was settled, he asked to visit their daughter. He knew Bella was going to be affected but he was glad that at least she was saved. On reaching, he found the baby sleeping. She was thinner compared to the boy but she was so beautiful. She had almost all Bella's facial features. After spending sometime with his daughter, he left to be by Bella's side when she wakes up.
He reached Bella's room and found his parents playing with the baby boy. "You're back? We also want to go visit her," they said and gave him his son before they left to see the baby girl. Ethan looked at his son, his only son who resembled him except his eyes. He had big black eyes just like Bella's but the rest were his features. He was glad for having gotten a child that resembles him. Leah looked like her mother and he noticed that even his second daughter looked like Bella. On checking the time, he saw that it was six in the morning. He just prayed for Bella to be alright.
It was coming to seven when Bella woke up. Ethan and his parents were in the room and he immediately approached her.
She tried sitting but he stopped her," Don't sit. You have a wound." She looked at him surprisingly and asked," Wound?" She touched her belly and was surprised when she noticed that it was flat and it was then she remembered what happened. "My babies. Where are my babies?" she asked immediately. "Don't worry. They are fine. See, our son is here," he said and got the baby from his parents then showed him to her making her eyes well up in tears. "Where's our daughter then? Let me hold him," she said. He handed him back to his parents before helping her sit in a comfortable position then gave her the baby. His parents left the room to give them some privacy.
Bella looked at her son, their son who looked exactly like his Dad. "Bring me our daughter," she told him. "He looks like me. Isn't it?" he tried to divert her once again. "She's dead. Isn't she?" she whispered with tears flowing out of her eyes. Bella remembers how much she was bleeding in the bathroom and on their way to the hospital. "Of course not. She's in the NICU and the doctors said it will take only a few weeks. She's fine," Ethan assured her but she didn't believe him. He must be saying it so that she doesn't lose it. "Take me to her then," she said. "I can't do that. You've just had an operation Bella. You have a fresh wound, you can't be moving around but trust me she's fine," he assured her. Just then, the door opened and Luna came in. "Bella, how are you doing?" she asked as she hurriedly approached and hugged her not too tightly in fear of hurting her. Luna sat beside her and asked," How are you feeling?" "Bad. I want to see my daughter," she said and Luna looked at Ethan questioningly who said," The baby's is in the NICU and she has just gotten an operation. Please explain to her that she can't be moving around." Luna felt sad about that but glad that she was alive at least.
She looked at Bella and said," He's right Bella. Please have some patience. You need to be strong for your babies and that can only happen if you are healthy." "Okay. At least do one thing for me. Go and take her pictures and show them to me. That way I will relax knowing she's fine," said Bella and Luna nodded immediately.
She went to the NICU and saw the baby. She was so adorable and looked like Bella. She took several pictures of her and took them to Bella. Bella's eyes welled up when she saw her daughter and finally she felt that she could somehow relax. A while later, they asked Ethan to excuse them so that Bella could pump milk for the baby in the NICU.
When they were done, Luna sat on the bed holding the baby boy when she asked," So, what are the names of the babies?" "Well, we had decided to name the girl Miley and the boy Morgan. Miley and Morgan. How are they?" she asked.
