"I don't know anything about them," she replied calmly. Silence came in between and Cynthia asked," Uhm... Do you hate them?"
"I don't think I do. I don't even know whether they are alive or not. I'm just fine with the way things are," she said. "Okay. Do you think you can ever forgive them if they explain to you the reason for not being there for you?" she asked and Luna thought for a moment before saying," I honestly don't know. I think we should leave Mrs Howells because I'm sure your family is looking for you." Nodding, they left the washroom and went back to the party.
"You took so long. Are you okay?" asked Lucas. "I'm fine. I spoke to our daughter," she said. Behind them stood a person who was listening to whatever they were speaking but they didn't heed to her. "What did you two talk about?"
A while later, the meals were served and Luna used this opportunity to change into a more comfortable lilac dress. When they got done, it was starting to turn dark. At that juncture, the emcee called the boy's parents once again and Luna was surprised. She had thought that they were done with speaking to the guests. What were they going to do now?
Graham made his way to the platform first and his eyes fell on her as he waited for her to make her way to where he was standing. This piqued every guest's attention and they put all their eyes on them. When she reached him, he cleared his throat and said," I've been meaning to ask you this for a very long time but I was looking for the perfect moment." She looked at him confused not knowing what he was meaning when he slowly went down and got on his one knee and the crowd screamed as they cheered for them because they immediately knew what he was going to do. He fetched out a ring box from his tux pocket and opened it revealing a sparkling diamond ring before looking up to meet her teary welled eyes. Taking a deep breath, he spoke," The first time I met you, I knew I had met my match. It was only a matter of time until we arrived at this moment. How it turns out is all in your hands. Life offers many challenges and I know I can meet them only if you're willing to face them with me. You deserve the very best, someone who will back you up without limits, let you grow without borders and love you without end. Will you let me be the one? Marry me, Luna Peyton." By this time, Luna's cheeks were stained with tears due to the heartfelt words. She nodded before saying," Yes, a thousand times I will marry you." The crowd clapped and cheered for the couple. The moment was so magical. Graham got the diamond ring and slid it in her slender finger which fit her perfectly and looked so beautiful on her long fingers. He then stood up and hugged her tightly. She had been patient with him. She had never pressured him about a wedding yet he knew that it was almost every woman's dream. She indeed deserved the best after everything she had gone through and he was going to do everything he can to give her just that. The reporters were snapping as many pictures as they can. This was such juicy gossip.
Cynthia didn't realize when she had started shedding tears. She was so glad that at least she was around to witness this special moment for her daughter. Lucas encircled his hand around her waist and asked," They look so good together. Don't they?" She nodded and wiped off her tears.
After getting out of the embrace, Luna looked at the ring on her finger which looked so beautiful. She had faith that he would do this at the right time and she had seen no need to remind him and indeed he didn't disappoint her. The moment they joined the guests, Bella and Abigail came to her to take a look at the ring. "It's so beautiful," said Abigail. "And it looks so expensive," Bella said. Of course, she couldn't even imagine how much it costs because knowing Graham Cullen, she couldn't expect nothing less. A number of guests came to congratulate them and among them were the Howells. When the birthday boy was done with cutting the cake, he started receiving gifts from various people. When Graham met Vikram, he asked," Is it me or Ciara didn't come?" "She refused," he said and Graham nodded in understanding. Vikram then asked," I've not been able to spot her. Have you?" He shook his head and he asked," Is it possible that she didn't come?" "Maybe. Or maybe not. Both are possibilities I think we should still be careful." With that, he made his way to where the Howells were and said," I think it is time." Cynthia could feel her heart racing," Don't you think it's soon?" "It's the perfect time. The party has come to the end. I will take her to the drawing room. Come when you're ready but don't take too long," he told them before leaving.
