Chapter 146 - Chapter 146 Does she hate me?

"Okay then. I'm here to talk about your daughter," he said and Cynthia got worried. She asked," What is wrong with Elena? Is she alright?" "I'm not talking about her. I'm talking about the daughter they switched at the hospital," he said and silence prevailed in the sitting room. Lucas looked at his wife, who was automatically affected. She had been slowly learning how to live with the pain. "What about her?" asked Lucas with slight irritation in his voice. He hated bringing back that conversation because it always left an impact on his wife. "I know where she is," he revealed and Lucas narrowed his eyes in displeasure. Was this man crazy? He decided to be patient with him once and said," I don't know what information they gave you but our daughter is dead. Please take your leave." Lucas stood up and Graham did the same. He had anticipated this already so he said," I will leave. But I ask you to first look at this." He stretched out a white envelope to him but he rejected it and said," I'm losing my patience right now. Leave my house." Grandma Terry stood up and came towards Graham then took the envelope and opened it. It contained pictures and the first one was Luna's dressed in a long white dress. She immediately recognized the girl she saw in the Mall and exclaimed," This is exactly the girl I told you about Lucas. The one I met in the Mall." Lucas got the picture and on a single glance he concluded," This is Cynthia. They got her pictures when she was still a teenager. Don't be fooled by him." Cynthia on hearing this got up and came closer to look at the picture they were talking about. On seeing it, she recognized that she was not the one. Her hair has never been golden blonde, hers was dirty blonde. Also, this girl was leaner and shorter than her. Then who was this girl when theirs was dead? She hadn't given birth to twins. She glanced at Graham with questions filled in her eyes.

Grandma Terry exclaimed when she saw the second picture which had three people in it. Luna, Graham and Dylan in a park. The two saw it and Cynthia shot her eyes back to Graham and asked," Who is this girl?" "I think it's obvious Mrs Howells that she is your daughter," he said and her eyes moist as her lips trembled. "W-what, h-how is it p-possible?" she stuttered. Lucas by this time was confused yet Grandma Terry didn't look so shocked. "It's why I'm here. All I ask is your time, I will explain everything," he told them and Lucas nodded before helping his wife to sit down who appeared to be in a daze.

When they settled down, Graham started narrating each and everything from how Luna grew up in the orphanage, the very first time Elena met Luna in the office and then hired the people who told them a fake story, how she forged the DNA results, how she tried to harm Luna in Blue City and how she is in hiding right now."

By the end of the story, Cynthia's cheeks were stained with tears. She couldn't believe how cruel Elena was. They gave her everything, and up to now, she was still sending her money. Her heart ached for her daughter, all these years of suffering with no one by her side.

Lucas couldn't formulate the right words to say. Elena did what? After all the things they had done for her? She paid them by harming their daughter as well as lying to them? She made them to go as far as performing exhumation on a wrong person? She's so wicked.

Grandma Terry on the other hand wasn't surprised. She had always suspected that girl. She even told them to return her back to the orphanage just like how her mother did to their daughter but they refused. She therefore partly blamed them. She looked at the two who looked like they had lost their minds and she returned her eyes to Graham then asked," Does she know anything? That you came here?" "No, she doesn't know anything."

Cynthia began wailing and Lucas embraced her. She realized she was a bad mother. Cherishing the person who wished her daughter death.

A while later, her sobs reduced and when she stopped crying, she came out of his embrace and looked at Graham before saying," Thank you so much. How is she? Does she hate me?"

"She doesn't hate you. She just doesn't know you," he said. "Can I see her?" she asked again and he said," That's why I came here. I wanted you to meet her on our son's birthday."

The three gasped at the same time and Lucas asked," She gave birth to a son?" "Yes, we have a son, Dylan. The one in the pictures."

Cynthia broke down once again. Her daughter has a son and she wasn't there to assist her. She not only missed raising her daughter but also her grandson. Grandma Terry asked again," When is the party?" "The day after tomorrow." Lucas looked at him and asked," For how long are you married?"

"Uhm... we are not yet- " "What?!! You have a son with my daughter and you haven't married her yet?" he exclaimed.
