She wouldn't believe that because she never forgot to take after pills however many times they did it. She decided to continue with her work. Much later, Lilly came back to her and showed her a pregnancy test. "What are you doing?" whispered Bella looking around to see if anyone saw it. "Let's go and you perform a test. I want to show you that I'm sure of what I am talking about," she said and Bella stared at her dumbfounded. Did she think that this was some kind of joke? "Listen Lilly, I'm definitely not pregnant," she told her once again. "I insist. Let's do the test and I prove to you." Sighing, Bella stood up and went to the bathroom followed by Lilly.
On reaching, they did the test and waited for the required time. When it past, Lilly was the one that got it and checked. "I told you!! I never go wrong!!" she exclaimed. Bella frowned and snatched the strip to look at it and indeed it said positive. She felt her heart hammer in her chest but she didn't believe it entirely. "Listen, these tests are not a hundred percent correct. I believe that I've been careful enough," she said. "Go to the hospital for verification then. You want me to accompany you?" Bella immediately shook her head. "Okay. I will be waiting for the results then," said Lilly who winked before leaving the bathroom. Bella remained confused. What if it was true? She hoped not because she doubted Ethan was ready for another child.
Coming back, she packed her things and decided to head to the hospital. On her way, she called Ethan and told him not to pick her up from work since she wasn't there. Ever since she got the job, he had started dropping as well as picking her from work. When he asked where she was, she told him that she had gone to the field which wasn't so far away from home, therefore she would bring herself back home. She didn't want him to come to the hospital. If indeed she was pregnant, she would look for ways of breaking the news to him.
On reaching, she explained how she was feeling to the doctor and later they took a sample of her blood and urine. She sat down waiting nervously as all thoughts were on how he would react because for her, she wanted the baby so much.
A few moments later, the doctor came back and Bella could hear her heart beating in her ears. He smiled and said," You shouldn't be nervous Miss Bella. Congratulations, you're one month pregnant. The baby is healthy."
Reaching home, she took a deep breath before opening the door to enter. She heard him in the kitchen and even if she wanted to inform him as soon as possible, she decided to wait. After dinner, they headed to her bedroom since it's where he had started sleeping.
"Aren't you joining me in the bathroom?" he asked and she shook her head then he headed to bathe. When he came back, she told him that they needed to talk and he joined her on the couch. "I have something very important to tell you," she said fidgeting with her fingers nervously and he nodded his head urging her to continue. She tried opening her mouth to speak but she couldn't form the words to say. She instead stood up and brought the envelope she was given then handed it to him to check it.
He looked at her before asking," Are you pregnant?" Her eyes widened before she asked," Who told you that?" He realized that that would show his eagerness and he said," I just guessed it. The envelope." "Just open it and see." Slowly, he opened the envelope then pulled out the papers and his eyes read what they were saying. When his eyes didn't leave the papers, Bella knew that he wasn't happy. She started explaining," I swear that I didn't do it intentionally. You always saw me taking pills after, didn't you?" When he didn't reply, she continued," If you're not ready for a baby right now I understand, but - " He didn't let her complete her sentence as he scooped her in his arms and twirled her around. How can she even think that he wasn't happy when this is what he's been waiting for? He remembered that she was pregnant and he put her down immediately. "Thank you so much," he told her. "You're not pissed?" she asked to confirm. "How can I be? When this is what I've been hoping for," he told her. Bella's eyes welled up in happiness and relief. He liked the baby and that's what she had been worried about. "Thank you," she said and he wiped her stained cheeks dry. "I should be the one to tell you that. Let me tell my parents, my sister and everyone. Stay here I will be coming," he left excitedly to get his phone.
