Chapter 69 - Chapter 69 You're quitting that job

Graham scanned her room and the first thing he saw was his picture on her wall. It seemed this girl really loved him but unfortunately, he couldn't remember her. "I will take a shower first. Please feel at home," she told him and went towards the bathroom. He sat on her bed and began doing some things on his phone. After a moment, she came out in a short silk night gown with a towel drying her hair. She found Graham staring at his huge picture that was on the wall. Hearing footsteps, he turned and seized her from top to bottom. She was a living temptation.

"I'll take my shower," he said and quickly entered the bathroom. While he was in the shower, Luna got the small box where she had been keeping the things to show him.

Graham came out of the shower fully dressed and he got a hand drier to dry his hair. When he was done, he came and sat at the edge of the bed where she was sitting before asking," What are those?" "I had been keeping these things for you. This is the first ultrasound I did. This album contains all Dylan's photographs since he was one day old, his first and second birthday," she explained.

He took time looking at each and everything she had been given. After seeing everything, he said," Thank you." "For what?" she asked. "For everything. For keeping this child. For raising him well. For keeping these things for me and for being a strong woman," he told her. "I did it for us. Because I had hope. Hope that you will come back to us. Thank you for not abandoning us. That was my greatest fear." "How could I abandon you? Uhm.. BTW I was thinking about something. How about you move to Blue City with me?" he asked.

Luna had already thought about it but she didn't like the idea. There was his mother whom she knew would never accept her. And perhaps all her life she had lived in SunCity.

"Uhm... it's not a bad idea but I thought you would move here with us instead. I don't think your mother will like it if she sees me."

"Listen, you shouldn't worry about my mother. She won't bother you I promise," he assured her. She also didn't want to leave her friends here. Graham saw the hesitant look in her eyes and said," It's okay. I will move here. But I would like you to come with me to Blue City and I introduce you to my family. After that, we shall come back here."

Luna got scared. Will they like her? Of course she knew that his mother didn't like her but she was now concerned about his father and sister. "O-okay. When are we going?" she asked. She wanted to be prepared.

"Tomorrow evening. We shall be there for a week as I wrap up everything before we move back here permanently," he said. "Okay. I will inform Ethan then since he's my boss," she said. "You're quitting that job," he said. "W-why? It's a good job and perhaps I don't think I will get another job any soon," she said. "You're going to work at my company. You're not working for that man anymore." "But I don't like getting backdoor favors. Ethan is not a bad boss," she said.

"Please. I don't like that guy. You're going to resign from Carter Corporations."

"Okay. I will resign," she said. They laid in the bed but there was a huge distance between them. Graham was laying on his back facing the ceiling while Luna was laying on her side facing him. Was he angry at something? She wondered.

"Is anything wrong?" she asked. "No. BTW tell me about your family," he said as he looked at her. She didn't know what to say. Will he like the fact that she grew up in the orphanage? "It's okay if you don't want to talk about it," he said. "No, it's just that....I don't know anything about my family. I grew up in the orphanage. I was told that I was brought there by a man when I was just born," she told him as she critically looked at him to see any changes in him. "Sorry about that. Who adopted you then?" "I wasn't adopted. Aunt Betty who was our guardian became a mother to me. She loved me so much that she refused to give me away to any families that wanted to take me. So when she died, I decided to leave the orphanage and start a new." "So didn't you try to look for your family?" he asked and she shook her head. "You want me to help you and look for them?"

Luna thought about it and she preferred to leave things the way they were. If they took her to the orphanage and didn't bother to look for her, it means that they don't like her. She said," No. I think I'm fine with how things are."

"Okay. But in case you change your mind, just tell me." She nodded and gave him a smile, relieved that he wasn't judgemental. "Come here," he called her and she came closer.

They cuddled and finally drifted off to sleep.
