Chapter 55 - To See The State Master

The battle had ended as quickly as it started with Nero as the undeniable victor. Throughout the entire battle, Nero had bested his opponents with only one attack, and his opponents weren't ordinary martial artists, they were indeed strong characters of their different backgrounds! And not only did Nero wipe the floor with their faces, but also caused the Gandor Kingdom State Master to personally intercede on his behalf, this was truly remarkable! Nero coldly stared at the martial artists present; his green eyes seemed to carry a strange sensation that made one quiver with fear.

"Aito indeed has a good eye, this young lad seems promising…."

The Gandor kingdom State Master had a pleased smile on his face as he saw the daring aura Nero commanded; outstandingly overwhelming! This was the same thing that Aito saw when he first met Nero. The aura surrounding Nero was overwhelmingly powerful that it made the stage slightly tremble, and this was after he restrained the majority of his power.

On the Gandor kingdom stone tower, Aito simply didn't know what to say; he was stunned at the strength Nero displayed, and there was a possibility that he still had more strength to spare! From the beginning of his fight, no one had lasted for more than a minute on stage, that was how terrifying Nero was. This was a perfect example of bullying the weak.

Galen also didn't know how to believe what he just saw. From one fight to the other, Nero had bested his opponents in mere seconds, leaving them no room to fight back. One had to know that these young martial artists were outstanding, even when ranked among themselves they were still able to make it to the top. The martial artists Nero fought were ranked among the top 10 young martial artists of the Western Earth Kingdom. This goes to show how powerful these martial artists were. However, they couldn't make it past their first move before being defeated by Nero. This wasn't that they were weak in any way, but Nero was just too strong for them to handle.

"I thought you all had doubts about my abilities, why don't you send out more? If you don't have the guts to back up your words then you're all more than cowards! And I don't need to waste my time with cowards. If this is all you all can do, then consider this battle over!"

Nero thundered like a beast. His words struck like lightning and cut deep like a sword. He had continuously defeated the ruling powers in this battle, and now, he slapped their faces and wiped the floor with it. How could any of these proud old men let something like this go?

However, it was nothing but suicide if they did. None of them was a match for Aito, much more the State Master. The State Master had used mere words to force Makenna to publicly admit defeat. Although the State Master's cultivation was higher than Makenna's cultivation, the disparity between them was far above average.

Nero issued out his challenge with no trace of fear whatsoever, and no one dared to reply lest they face a fate worse than death. Even those old martial artists were a bit hesitant to send out anyone. They had seen clearly how brutal Nero was, and the remaining martial artists on their side weren't much worse than the ones Nero had fought; sending any out at this moment was giving the opponent more room to be arrogant. At the very least, they thought that Nero's ability might be formidable enough to make him jump realms to fight. But now, he didn't only jump realms to fight, he destroyed his opponents; nothing like they had expected!

As he was done speaking, Nero turned around and walked towards the Gandor kingdom stone tower.

"Hahaha! Very well done little brother! I never believed you would possess such incredible strength. This old man is impressed!"

Aito quickly jumped from his seat the moment Nero walked in, almost hugging him.

This was a battle that would greatly determine the strength of their future influence. Even though the Gandor kingdom would remain the strongest force in the Western Earth Kingdom, their influence over other ruling powers would greatly decrease. And it wasn't certain how long they could hold their position of strongest. Other powers wouldn't just fold their arms and watch the Gandor kingdom grow stronger and stronger; they would inevitably move against them.

Nero smiled and replied, "There's no need for the flattery, I just did what I had to do to save my reputation. If there's nothing else, I would like to go back to my training."

Before today, Nero had been meditating to accumulate enough energy to see him through the fight. And with how fast the Spirit Qi in his core dissipates, he had lost almost half of it and needed to go back and meditate.

"Little brother, don't be too hasty to go back. The State Master just came out from seclusion today and he would like to see you. We wouldn't want to interrupt your training as there seemed to be dire consequences in doing so."

The 'dire consequences' Aito referred to was the force that blew anyone who disturbed Nero's training away. Nero sheepishly smiled when he heard this; he obviously knew what Aito meant by that. Nero wasn't at all surprised when he heard that the State Master wanted to meet him; after all, the State Master had personally acted on his behalf today, which meant that he had aroused the State Master's attention. Nero already wanted to see the State Master so this was all going according to plan.

"Alright, if that is the case then I agree."

Hearing Nero agree Aito nodded in satisfaction. He flew out from the stone tower and landed on the stage.

"If there be no challengers, then this battle is over! Anyone who spreads false rumors again will be severely punished by the Gandor kingdom…" Aito's voice rang out like a bell in the arena. Saying this, he looked at the Siel family Grand Patriarch Makenna, the disdain in his eyes was in no way hidden.

Everyone knew that the false rumors about Nero were actively spread by the Siel family. Not that they were the only ones, but they were the ones who actively participated in it. Makenna knew what Aito was implied by what he said and he didn't feel very happy about it. He scoffed and led the martial artists of his family clan out of the arena. The injured ones were already being carried back to their family clan to be fully treated, so there was no cause to stay here any longer.

The Keon kingdom State Master Hain followed after. His kingdom had participated and was beaten without any room to strike back, but that was also within his expectations. Hain didn't have any enmity with Nero so there wasn't any need to provoke him as the Siel family did. The only thing he wanted was to see how strong the foreigner who challenged their forces was.

"Forgive me, my Lord, I have let down our kingdom and caused this foreigner to taunt us in such a haughty manner." Beside Hain, Evane lowered his head as he spoke.

"No need for that. Since you have experienced his fight first hand you should learn from it and get stronger."

"Yes my Lord!"
