Chapter 5 - The Western Earth Kingdom

Almost instantly after Nero walked into the inn, the gazes of everyone here fell on him. Although Nero's clothes were torn, if one looked carefully they would find out that the materials were not common to the mortal world. In his journey through that dreadful forest, Nero had encountered many obstacles some of which he had to put more effort to defeat. Which led to his clothes being torn beyond redemption.

Although Nero's clothes were torn, they didn't lose their quality; they still had a trace of the elegance of something otherworldly which caused everyone to be attracted to Nero. Nero scanned through everyone here, the result was the same as usual. Everyone here was a mortal! Seeing that everyone here was mortal, Nero didn't want to waste his time. He came here to find shelter for the night and gather Intel about this unknown world.

"How can I help you friend!?" A voice called out.

Nero looked up to see an old man behind a counter waving at him indicating that he comes over. He then walked up to the counter and sat down.

"I don't think I've seen you here before, are you new?" The old man asked with a warm smile.

Nero directly answered, "No"

"I thought so." The old man nodded his head. "If you were truly from here you would have known to hide your status; this place is not so friendly to royals or the people from the Capital city."

Hearing ' Capital city', Nero's eyes widened.

"Capital city?" He asked. "Where is that?"

"You don't know?" The old man was taken aback by Nero's question.

Nero nodded his head, a bit impatient.

"This little village is only but a small border town of the Gandor kingdom. The Capital city, also known as State Master city lies at the heart region of this kingdom." The old man explained everything to Nero.

According to the old man's explanation, the forest Nero appeared in was known as Rhedaia. The forest Rhedaia lies at the center of Five powerhouses. Three of which are kingdoms Gandor, Keon, and Reinhart. While the other two were powerful families Siel and Trenton. Together, these five powerhouses rule the entire Western Earth region. Nero also asked why there was no cultivator in the villageā€¦

"The martial world is very cruel to us. Most of us weren't born here; we were sent out because we couldn't cultivate." As the old man talked, he sighed bitterly. One could understand the depth of his pain.

The old man continued, "Those higher echelons have never paid any attention to us. We are left here to fend for ourselves, and even if this village was wiped out one day, no one would do anything about it."

Hearing the old man's bitter words, Nero sighed inwardly. This was truly the ugly side of the world. In the martial world, the only thing that moves people is strength. If one had sufficient strength, they could do what they wanted, however, they wanted without being questioned.

Coming from an influential background is not enough to earn the respect of anyone; the only thing that could lower their heads to you, even more, was the level of strength one possessed. This was an inarguable fact that everyone born under the heavens had to bear. Nero didn't find it surprising that these mortal were sent ostracized from their hometown and forced to live here. That could make this far was considered commendable.

Nero reached out into his robe and took out a small satchel. It was the same one he took from the skinny man earlier.

"I would like a room please arrange that for me." Nero placed the satchel on the counter in front of the old man.

The old man was shocked. His eyes widened, even more, when he received the satchel and looked inside, "This is a lot of money! If you need a room to stay for the night then it only costs five gold taels, this is about fifty gold taels if not more!"

" It's good then. I'll be staying here for a while so you can deduct it from there."

Hearing Nero talk so casually about this huge amount, the old man lost all feeling in his body. "Is he a fool to casually take out such amount?" the old man wondered but still had a wide smile on his face.

"Come little brother, I'll take you to your room right away. You must be very tired from your journey." The old man said politely. He called on his assistant to handle the tavern while he settles this mysterious fellow. The old man led Nero into a room upstairs. The room wasn't big neither was it luxurious, it was just mediocre. It had a window and a wooden bed beside the window. Over to the other side was a small room where the bathroom was.

"Here is a new change of clothes, you can't walk around in those rags. Have your bath and rest I'll have my assistant bring you some food. I'll see you in the morning." The old man handed over a new set of clothes to Nero. Before Nero could thank the old man, he had already started calling out to his assistant to bring food over to Nero's room.

At first, Nero thought it was funny but then it was normal. Only those who had influence, wealth, and power could live a problem-free life. Nero went straight to have his bath. When he came out, the food was already served so he ate, and shortly afterward he started to meditate. This was the first time Nero was able to calmly sit and meditate in a week since he arrived in this world. Nothing much could be done at the moment concerning his injuries. If he wanted to prepare for the adventure that awaits him in his world, he had to prepare both mind and soul.
