ROSALINA POV
It's been a round a week since I've moved. It wasn't all bad, Roman had this amazing library and the west wing garden was so peaceful and I enjoyed reading there. Roman is away on a business trip and won't be back for at least a couple of days. For some reason I miss him, this past week, although our only interaction was at the dinner table, we bonded. On the first night, I mustered up the courage to tell him I wasn't comfortable sleeping in the same bed with him and he was completely fine with it. I was shocked because most of the men in my life weren't as reasonable and understanding as him. At dinner I would tell him about my mama, a big deal to me because of how sensitive the topic was I never told to anyone.
I understood why he was being like this, to make me feel at ease but still was reluctant about this marriage, not that I can do anything about it. Yet I couldn't stop thinking about him, his smell had imprinted in me, his deep alluring eyes that I saw every time I thought about him.
What was he doing to me?
I sighed and finished washing my dishes. I was full from the lunch I had made and was quite bored. I felt like doing something but I didn't know this place, everything was so foreign to me, obviously. I went to my room to grab my phone and ran into a maid.
"Hi." I say trying not to sound creepy. I wanted to talk to someone, and weirdly enough it felt as if these maids were avoiding me.
"Hello-I shouldn't be here, I'm sorry for interrupting you." I furrowed my brows, what did she mean when she said shouldn't be here?
"Sorry? Why shouldn't be here?" I ask.
"Please don't tell Sir Knight but instructed us nor to talk to you." She sounded terrified but me? I was curious and irritated, he told people not to talk to me?
Before I could ask anything else I hear a male. The voice was coming from downstairs. Rushing downstairs I see a handsome man looking around.
"Um hi." I say and wave.
Turning around he smiles, "Hi I'm Roman's best friend Leo, short for Leonardo. Nice to meet you." Finally, someone talkative and polite. Weirdly he was too friendly and smiley to be Romans best friend. Leo had striking green eyes sharp facial features. Yet Roman looked much more handsome.
"Hi, I'm Rosalina, but you already knew that." I nod awkwardly and smile.
"Yeah, well I just came by to grab some files but thought it would be great to meet you. Oh and I just wanted to let you know Roman is on his way. His plane just took off so he should be here in an hour or so." Upon hearing Roman's near arrival I took a mental note to shower and get ready to see him.
"Oh well, um it was nice meeting you." I didn't know what else to say, I felt out of place.
"Oh Roman just texted me to stay until he comes so I'll be just in the study." I nod and he leaves the hallway.
Jogging upstairs I take a quick shower. Once I'm out I decided on what to wear. Something casual and too fancy, I don't to look desperate but I want to look like I made a little effort.
I wore a fluffy sweater and some jeans. Slid my feet into some comfy slippers. Putting my hair into a ponytail I spray a little perfume and curled my lashes and applied lip balm, pinching my cheeks for a natural blush I decided that this was enough and head to the kitchen.
Sitting in the highchairs was Leo. When he acknowledges me he gives me a smile.
"He's near the state." Leo says referring to Roman. Twisting my mothers ring out of nervousness I drink some water to calm myself down.
Hearing the door open I walk so I could greet him.
When I see him, my breathing system seems to not be functioning. He looked too good to be true. Roman was the epitome of beauty.
"Rosalina." He nods at me and heads upstairs. I frowned a little at his lack activity with me.
"Hi!" I say too excitedly. Looking back he gives me a small smile.
He disappears and I mentally smack myself, why did I have to make myself look desperate.
I go back to the kitchen and sit down, I draped myself across the island and yawn. I was so tired after that warm shower.
My phone vibrates and when I check my notifications I smile, it was Grayson the chefs son- from my old house. He always so nice and saw him as a brother I never had.
The message read, 'Hey heard you moved out. Can't believe I had my day off when you left, I miss you, we all do. Visit sometime soon.'
My inside filled with happiness, he was my family and I missed him too. Replying back I type, 'Soon, miss you guys too.'
"Who's Grayson?" Roman's voice penetrates my ears and I get up instantly.
"He's a friend from the old house." Taking my phone, without my permission he reads the message.
"He doesn't sound like one." He says angrily, I ceased my brow and almost gave him a dirty look.
"What are you implying?" What, did he think I was Grayson's lover? Nope not happening in a million years because he's got a fiancé and a daughter. I am not no what is called? – home-wrecker.
"You are texting another man?" His voice was rising and I was getting a little nervous but no I'll keep my self pride intact thank you.
"He has a daughter and girlfriend. I'm getting married in a week, do you think I'm stupid enough to cheat!" I was shocked that he would think so low of me for all I know he could've been with another girl on the tri.
Leo was just in a corner looking back and forth.
"Let me add to that, why on earth have you told the maids not to talk to me. Do you think you can isolate me?" I was frustrated and angry that I walked away not wanting to hear anything he had to say.
Huffing I go to my room ignoring Roman's shouts telling me to come back.
As I drop myself onto the bed I realize it was our first fight.
And what a fight it was.
