"Don't get me wrong. I sleep in a different room," replied Alen nonchalantly. Since morning, she and Ren just sat side by side in front of the house without saying a word. Last night's conversation made them awkward again.
"So how are your parents doing? They come home healthy?" Ren asked. He never met Hit's parents but asked how they were. It was clear that he was just making small talk so as not to appear nervous.
Hit smiled happily. He knew that Ren didn't look calm. The woman's legs continued to move beside the chair legs. "Sure. They bought me new archery equipment. Looks like I have to go to the training ground today. Sorry, can't help you."
"Go away, you've been playing truant too many times because of me," Ren said. He wasn't expelled but rather felt guilty that Hit didn't take his archery training to take care of his problems.
