Chapter 32 - 32. Tearfully

"You're right," said Ren.

A few moments later, they came out of the supermarket after shopping for some food. Alen channeled his magic power into Ren's wings. Ren flew first to go home. Meanwhile, it was Alen who brought all the groceries which were not too heavy.

Alen saw Ren's back start to disappear from his sight. He turned to the street behind him and sighed. His wing feathers splattered everywhere. The people around looked at him with disdain. He began to think about not delaying telling Ren his decision.

Alen saw Ren waving at his door. Ren couldn't possibly enter if the door was locked, while the door key was carried by him. He immediately approached Ren and was about to open the locked door. Before the door opened, he turned and looked at Ren's face. "I can't do this anymore. You better go home and leave Aves City," said Alen gently so as not to hurt Ren's feelings.

Ren still didn't know what was going on. It was too sudden and she hadn't prepared herself at all. "Why? What is the reason?"

"Alen, be honest with him!" Ozi shouted at Alen when he arrived. He accidentally heard Alen's words with Ren earlier.

Ren looked at Ozi in surprise, then looked at the two men in front of him in turn questioningly. "What? What do I not know? What are you guys hiding from me?"

Allen was silent. He was confused about where to start the explanation. After getting a good explanation, his voice didn't seem to want to come out. Even though Ren looked at her questioningly, he couldn't utter a word.

"The magic power of the black wings is very dangerous if used carelessly. Due to its truly destructive nature, it might also apply if channeled to the white wings," explained Ozi, who was already standing next to Ren.

Ren was very surprised to hear that. "Is what Ozi said true?" Ren asked, still in disbelief.

Allen didn't answer right away. His mind was in turmoil as the truth began to unfold. Feeling guilty, he said, "That's right."

"So you've been lying all this time?" asked Ren, who was getting carried away with emotion. Allen didn't answer, just looked down. "Right, right? You also don't care if I die from constantly being exposed to your magic power?" Ren asked again.

Alen kept his head down. Not daring to deny it even though he wanted to do it. He also deliberately let Ren vent his anger because it was he who was wrong to have hidden it all.

"Now, you're asking me to leave when you don't need me anymore. I didn't think that you would be this brave," Ren whispered. His chest was already tight from crying, heartache, and disappointment mixed into one.

Ren left from there without permission. Ozi looked at Alen with a sharp look as he said. "I thought you would be responsible," said Ozi with a disappointed look.

"You want to go back already?" asked Ozi doubtfully. He accompanied the pensive Ren at the border.

"You're right, Ozi. I'm fated to not be able to fly," Ren said while looking at the wings that couldn't move anymore.

Ozi crouched down with his back to Ren. Then, he said, "I will carry you home safely."

Ren smiled faintly, then climbed onto Ozi's back. They also crossed the border with ease. They were very lucky because there was no one guarding the border. They flew to Nobi's house without a hitch.

Ren opened the doorknob hesitantly. Then, she looked at Ozi. "Are you sure that Uncle Nobi will not be angry?"

"He who told me to go to Aves City to pick you up," replied Ozi casually. He was waiting for Ren to open the door. Ren opened the door and prepared to meet his uncle. However, she was surprised because the house looked deserted in a state of disarray. Her uncle always makes the house look neat.

"Where is Uncle Nobi?" asked the equally astonished Ozi. He drank a glass of water on the table because he was very thirsty. Moreover, the journey from the cliff to the house is not close.

Ren huffed in annoyance. "If you ask me, then where else should I ask?"

"How about we look elsewhere?" Ozi suggested.

They both went out of the house and were immediately approached by residents. "Where are you guys from? Don't you know that Nobi was captured by Mr. Mauren?" asked a stocky middle-aged man.

"Arrested? Why was my uncle arrested?" Ren asked worriedly.

"Who knows? Mr. Mauren looked very angry when he came with his two bodyguards," said the middle-aged man with a serious facial expression.

"Let's go to your house now!" Ren panicked while holding Ozi's arm.

Ozi picked up Ren, then flew to his house. After arriving, they immediately rushed to open the door of the house and looked for the whereabouts of Mauren and Nobi. Unfortunately, they did not find the two old men there.

They think again were the place that might be where Nobi is hidden. Finally, they looked at each other and found a place in their minds. "Whitewing execution place," Ren said in a trembling voice.

They went straight to the location. Ozi flew quite slowly because he was carrying Ren. Even so, he still put all his strength into achieving his goal quickly. A few moments later, they arrived at their destination.

Mauren looked at them. "As punishment for hiding the black wing, Nobi will be put to death."

Ren rolled his eyes. she got off Ozi's back in a panic. With unsteady steps, she ran to Mauren. "Not! What kind of punishment is this??"

Ren couldn't bear to see his uncle tied up with ropes in his hands. With his face swollen from the blow, Nobi sat on his knees and looked weak and helpless. His uncle just smiled seeing him in such a condition.

Ren knelt in front of his uncle. "Uncle, why don't you fight back? You're completely innocent," Ren said tearfully. Her tears streamed down her cheeks, while her uncle just shook his head slowly with a slight smile.

Ozi knelt before his father. "Father, please stop," Ren said, clasping his hands together, pleading.

Mauren gestured to his bodyguard to come closer. After that, he showed a black wing feather. "This is proof that you have allied with the black wing," he said with a crooked smile.
