Chapter 20 - 20. Hurry Up!

"Kim, don't be too hard on her," said Alen. He helped Kim to untie the banner ropes that were tied to two poles.

Ren flew over to the two of them. "What if the residents are angry because the banners they put up are removed like this?"

"You're still thinking about that? Those who are disrespectful for treating you like this. They should treat you like they treat any other human being," said Alen to encourage Ren to take down the banner as well.

"Nonsense. They even discriminate against people from their race," Kim argued.

"Kim, stop being honest at the wrong time. It sucks when you're being too honest like that," Alen grumbled.

Ren flew over and saw a lot of banners being put up. Along the city streets, there are already countless. she realized that it would be impossible to do that all day with just three people. she looked at Kim and Alen who were still lowering the banner.

"Why would they be willing to do that for me?" Ren muttered in a low voice that clearly couldn't be heard by Kim and Alen who was quite a distance away from where she had flown. she decided to remove the banners.

Banners have been pinned all over the city. It had been a few hours since Ren, Alen, and Kim had taken down the banners, but they hadn't even been able to take down a quarter of the total number of banners posted. They rested on the roof with sweat and tired bodies. They lay there to recover the energy that had been drained all night.

They saw the stars that seemed to be twinkling there, slowly replaced by the dawn sky. Ren sat down and watched the sunlight slowly emerge from the East. "Thank you for going this far," Ren said to Kim and Alen, still watching the sunrise.

"It's nothing," replied Alen, still lying down. he was between Kim and Ren.

Kim changed her position to sit, just like Ren. "Honestly. You must be tired from doing it. From a radius of 10 meters, I can hear your gasping breath," Kim sneered at Alen.

"Kim, please don't start again."

Before Kim and Alen could continue their argument, Ren uttered one sentence that made them both fall silent. "I'm still grateful to you guys. If it weren't for you, I probably wouldn't be able to stay here for long."

Alen sat down and stretched his body. "Whoa! You've been talking seriously at this early in the morning. Let's go home and sleep!"

The noise made Alen blink. The clock on the wall showed ten o'clock. he got up from the sofa he had been sleeping on. Then, he opened the front curtain and saw that many people were already in front of the house.

Alen ran into the room and banged on Ren's door. "Ren, hurry out!" he shouted.

Not long after, Ren came out rubbing his eyes. "Why are you shouting like that? You ruined my sweet dream."

"In front of the house, there are many residents with angry faces," said Alen nervously.

"WHAT?!"

Ren immediately dashed forward and parted the curtain. Alen was behind him who was just as panicked. A second later, there was a loud bang on the door. Alen immediately pulled him to the back door. "Ren, get out of here! I will take care of all the residents who come," said Alen.

Brak!

"Alen, why don't you open the door for me!" annoyed Kim after successfully opening the door forcibly. she gasped slightly as she appeared before Ren and Alen.

"Kim? I thought you were a citizen," said Ren whose heart was already beating fast before the door opened. Later, she saw Kim holding a large rock that might have just been used to break the doorknob.

Kim put the stone on the ground. "Ren, the people are very angry. If you appear in front of them, things will get even more chaotic," Kim fretted.

"Kim, please take Ren away from here," Alen begged half-begging. He immediately pushed the two women out. They looked at him nervously.

"Are you sure you can handle it?" Kim asked worriedly.

"Trust me!" said Alen firmly. After saying that, he immediately closed the door. Then, walk towards the front door and slowly open it.

Suddenly the residents immediately shouted asking where Ren was. They kept urging Alen to expel the girl from Aves City. So many people were talking, he got dizzy and couldn't hear the residents' words.

Alen let out a resigned sigh with a flat face. "I'm sorry I was so sure."

When Alen could only remain silent in front of the house with his mouth half-open, suddenly Mr. Baron appeared among the crowd of residents. He was accompanied by two bodyguards who always escorted him wherever he went. "Alen, where is that girl now? Don't make the residents angrier because you are protecting them," said the Baron in a voice full of authority as the regional leader.

Kim and Ren hid in a dark narrow room, without a single light. They found the place while running as far as possible from Alen's house. It's right under the bridge. Somehow there was a hidden place that they had never known before.

"Is it safe here?" Ren asked in a low voice. To be honest, she hesitated upon entering this place. Hidden places like this usually have an owner.

"Who knows. Hopefully, the owner doesn't come here now," hopes Kim, who also thinks the same as Ren. "Didn't you bring a lighter or something?" asked her because she couldn't stand the dark anymore.

"What are you looking for that thing for?" Ren asked in a slightly trembling voice.

"So it's not too dark," Kim replied curtly.

"Should you light a fire so it's not dark?"

"Come on, don't ask too many questions. Do you have it or not?" Kim asked a little impatiently. After a few seconds, there was no answer from Ren. "Answer, don't just shake your head. I can't see you in the dark."

"I can see you."

"Is that true? Can you see anything in this room?"
