Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 - Why?

Irelia pov's on

-Are you kidding. -I growled. -WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?

I could feel the veins standing out in my forehead.

My throat started to dry out and my stomach to turn even more.

He could stay for at least another two hundred years in Demacia.

He still held my arms tightly, keeping my chin pressed against the council table.

-Calm down Irelia. -He smiled close to my ear. -You've been very stressed from what I've learned. We're going to have to change this picture. -He said with a serious voice, but with an explicit mockery in every word.

He loosened his hand and then threw my face against the edge of the table, thus causing me to hurt my nose.

A small trickle of blood ran from my nostrils.

-WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM? - I said while wiping my nose with the sleeve of my robe.

Zelos walked calmly to the door, completely ignoring me.

-HEY! -I spoke as I strode toward you. –ZELS! -Shouted your name.

When I was close to reaching him, Zelos turns quickly and brings his hand up to my neck.

He kept a steady gaze that showed disgust.

I held his hand and stared at him with the same gaze.

Zelos let out a weak laugh and then lifted my body, causing me to stop breathing.

-Don't think you can go against me, Irelia. -He said as he tightened his fingers more and more on my neck. - And until you learn to behave and talk to me properly, I ask you not to try to measure forces with me, or I will have to take more drastic measures. He said the words in a low voice as he approached his face to mine. Staring at me with his deep black eyes. – Go get ready. We need to clean up the mess you made. -He threw me to the ground.

I held my neck as I steadied my breathing.

The monks and the Great Elder were silent, but they did not fail to give a small smile as they witnessed that scene.

-They didn't smile very much, gentlemen. Remember that whoever laughs last laughs best. -I said laughing as I got up from the floor. - And you can be sure that I will laugh a lot over their bodies.

Silence still reigned in that environment, but now, their faces outlined an indignant and worried look as they left the large council room laughing.

The day was already horrible due to the appearance of Yasuo and that Noxiana, and to top it off, I was still without news about the state of Akali. I couldn't bear to lose her, and to imagine that I could have killed her is reason enough for me to lose any hope of what was left.

I would never be able to look into her eyes or Shen's eyes again.

Forgive me Akali.

I walked out the grand council entrance, letting the rain soak into my clothes and hoping it could wash away some of the guilt I carried in my heart.

As if all that wasn't enough.

There was still Zelos' return to Ionia.

I was going to face hell and all its demons starting today.

Irelia pov's of Syndra Pov's on

She falls onto the soft lawn of the castle, her eyes brimming with tears.

Akali was pregnant.

Knowing that made my heart clench and a gigantic pain consumed me.

I've dreamed my whole life about being a mother, and knowing someone missed that opportunity so brutally, it destroys me.

I got up still crying, wet and tired.

I was in a sorry state.

I needed a shower and many days of rest and affection. But unfortunately Zed wouldn't be here with me.

I went to the castle doors and pushed them slowly, mentally thanking me for leaving the house closed when we left, I wouldn't have the heart to fix every window in the house.

I crawled into my room to take a hot shower and see if my head would stop pounding. I just wanted to have some tea and go to sleep.

I opened my bedroom door and smelled a familiar scent.

-Zed? -I asked fearfully.

-AH! You finally arrived love! -He said happily as he left the bathroom, which was pure smoke by the way.

I smiled when I saw him and went straight to hug him.

After settling into his warm, welcoming embrace, I asked as I laid my face against his chest.

-Shouldn't you have gone home? -I spoke in a low voice.

-I went. -He said smiling. 'But I couldn't leave my wife alone after an exhausting morning like this. -He gave me a kiss on the top of my head. – It's all agreed with them. They were happy for us, and well, they say my mood improves a lot when I get back from here, so they even prefer that I stay here longer. -Zed scratched the back of his neck and I was amused by his gesture. -But now go take your shower! You're all wet and tired, we'll talk later.

He gave me another kiss on the forehead and pushed me into the hot bathroom.

I couldn't help but improve my mood with that, but I still felt bad about having to tell him that news.

Syndra pov's of Shen pov's on

My world fell apart.

The woman in my life was in critical condition and my son would no longer come into the world.

It was as if everything we had planned all our lives had turned to ashes.

I was kneeling in front of the healing center.

The rain was heavy and heavy, the day was completely gray, colorless, lifeless.

There was a strong, cold wind in the street that made the day even more dull.

My head was no longer working, my chest ached, and my breathing was ragged. My eyes stung and I had a ball of feeling stuck in my throat. My stomach was hard as stone, and an incessant urge to scream and cry nearly consumed me completely.

I didn't believe this was happening.

I didn't believe this was happening because of Irelia.

That wasn't something I could forgive like I did with Zed.

My father was guilty of his actions, Akali was not.

I slammed my fists into the ground and screamed.

-WHY? – I screamed at the top of my lungs.

I couldn't hold back my tears, and thinking about that bunch of people screaming and crying in the waiting room didn't do me any good.

I wanted to be alone and cry indefinitely.

I was caught up in my thoughts for so long that I hardly knew how many minutes or hours had passed since I had been out on the street, or since I had arrived downtown.

Suddenly, the door opens and reveals a small, furry, tired-looking being.

-Hey Shen. -Kennen said as he took from his pockets a pack of cigarettes and his lighter.

- I didn't know you had gone back to smoking. - Said in a low voice while letting out a weak smile.

-I stopped for a long time, but I started smoking again because I was very nervous. It distracts the head a little. – He said as he lit the product. -You're with a horrible face. Want a? -He spoke while showing me the pack.

I just nodded and went back under the entrance roof.

Kennen and I sat leaning against the farthest part of the door.

I lit the cigarette and handed him the lighter.

We were silent as we consumed that piece of tobacco wrapped around many thousand things.

-How is she? -I spoke after we reached the second cigarette.

-She is fine. It's stable. - He said without sketching any reaction. "Her surgery was more complicated than the Progressive one that Irelia impaled on the ironworks of the house. The damage your sword did was great. -Kennen said indifferently.

That was his way of being shaken.

-Want to know the rest? -He looked with a serious look, but full of worry and sadness. -I'm also very shaken, don't think I'm so insensitive. -He let out a weak laugh.

-You can tell what happened. -I spoke while playing the second butt beside me.

-We had to remove her uterus. -He said as he reached me again with the pack and the lighter. -Irelia nailed him, we had to do the removal surgery so that then the magicians came to do the treatment based on magic. Unfortunately he didn't have a chance Shen. I'm sorry. -Kennen said with a slightly choked voice.

-All right. -My eyes went back to burning and my throat tightening. -I know they did their best. At least I still have the woman of life by my side still. -I spoke while crying again, just letting the third cigarette fall into a small pool of water that was beside me. -She will kill me if she finds out I smoked again.

-The only murder that will occur will be Irelia if she appears in front of me. -Kennen said seriously while erasing the butt on the floor. -Go for me, I never liked her, and I will not control myself if I find her. -He put the cigarettes and the lighter and then said. -I'm a doctor, I know how to clean my tracks. Do not worry.

I gave a weak laugh.

-You can let me clean up the mess myself. -I was serious. -I thought I would never have this feeling after I forgave and understood the side of Zed. But this time the only thing I feel is hate. And you know, there's no reason for me to try to understand the situation. Irelia was without limits for a long time and I have no way to defend her now, as I was sick of it for a long time. – I growled. -Akali always did everything for her, always supported her and always helped her. -I sighed heavily. - And to think that she was able to do that and not realize that who she had hit was Akali. It fills me with disgust Kennen. -Ranked.

- She always filled me with disgust and hatred. So I can understand this feeling. -Kennen said with disgust in his voice. -I hope the council stops drooling her egg and in a way about it.

I nodded and looked at the heavy rain that was still falling.

-Shen. – Kennen called me. -You owe me a pack of cigarettes. – He said with a slight smile as he handed me another one. -Enjoy and smoke everything you have to smoke, at least you will pass out from low blood pressure and not from hunger. -He laughed.

I smiled back.

He lit another one and there we were. In silence and enjoying the strong smoke that entered our lungs.

Shen pov's of Syndra pov's

I emerged from the hot bath with a relieved head, finally able to calmly think about today's events.

After getting out of the shower and drying off, I dressed in a long-sleeved black blouse with white pants. I dried my hair and tied it into a ponytail. It was a warm, comfortable outfit to stay at home with.

I was sleepy but couldn't sleep so soon. I wasn't like Riven, I had my schedules and I hated when I didn't keep them.

I dropped the dirty clothes into my hamper and headed out of the bathroom and into the closet to get a coat. Was cold.

This rain and sudden cold meant that winter was at hand, and that we would soon have snow in Ionia.

I looked for Zed around the room and nothing.

-Ah Zed, just because I wanted to lie down doing nothing. -I said sullenly as I went to the door.

I stomped my feet against the floor until I hit the doorknob, and when I pulled the door open, I got scared by Zed.

-HEY! Be carefully! -He said as he returned to balance a tray in his hands. -Almost dropped our lunch. -He made a sullen face.

-Come in soon, I'm hungry. -I spoke while smiling.

He found it and was soon putting the tray on the bed.

-TARAN! -He presented the tray to me. - What do you think?

-I didn't know you cooked. -I looked suspicious. -Since when are you preparing this?

-Since I arrived. I wanted to have something ready for when you arrived, I figured you'd be hungry. -He said smiling. -Oh, and about me cooking. When I have free time at home, I usually go help in the kitchen. She is a hobby of mine. -He said proud. -I hope you like my food as much as my ninjas. -She made way for her noodle soup tray.

-Thank you so much Chef! I know it will be the best soup I will ever eat in my life. - I laughed and sat on my bed. I mean, our bed.

We took our cutlery and began to enjoy that hot broth. It was really delicious, Zed really had reason to be proud of this hobby.

We ate everything in silence, and after I'd put down my cutlery, Zed was ready to remove the tray and set it on the floor.

He was looking at me with his little eyes twinkling, waiting for me to answer what I thought of his food.

-Want me to tell you what I thought of your food? -I asked laughing.

He nodded eagerly.

-I thought... horrible. -I said smiling.

-Oh, really? -He asked with a smirk.

-That's right. -I spoke as I lay in bed and he came over me.

Zed pinched me and started tickling me, I soon started laughing madly.

-What did you say? -He asked me again.

He stopped tickling me so I could respond.

-It was the best food I've ever tasted in my life. -I said smiling. -I want you to always cook for us.

-My pleasure. -Zed gave me a kiss.

We settle into bed and cover ourselves with a long, warm comforter. We hugged enjoying each other's presence.

Zed's breathing was calm and barely perceptible, his body was warm, his scent was enveloping. I loved being with him.

He seemed to be. Sleeping?

-Can't sleep? -He asked, still with his eyes closed.

-Yea. -I spoke embarrassed.

-Has something happened to Vi? -He still spoke with his eyes closed.

-No, she is. He is stable and has already gone to his room. Jinx and Caitlyn are with her. -I spoke while making a little caress on his face.

-Caitlyn? –

- She's Vi's wife. -I said calmly.

-I didn't imagine she was going to be married. -He said smiling.

-Neither did I, I was happy to hear that. Caitlyn seems like a great person, and is a very beautiful woman. - I told excited.

-Not as pretty as you, I bet. -He said smiling and then opened his eyes to stare at my flushed face.

-Silly. – I said pretending I was sulking.

He chuckled and then asked.

-If she's okay, why is she upset? -He spoke while stroking my hair.

-It's about Akali. -I took a break. -She was pregnant.

Zed opened his eyes after my speech.

-I saw Shen and some other people crying in the other waiting room, and well, he noticed me and ran after me inside. But that's not why I'm restless. It's because of Akali.

Zed hugged my body tightly.

-I always dreamed of being a mother, and knowing that someone had this opportunity and she was ripped from that person with tantra brutality, makes me feel sad. I can't imagine the pain they must be feeling. -I felt my eyes sting after saying those words.

Zed pressed his body against mine and kissed the top of my head.

We stayed like that until I felt good again.

After a few minutes, Zed spoke up.

-Syndra? I lifted my face to face him. - Do you mind if I go away for a while? He said as he lifted his body off the mattress.

- Where are you going? -I spoke while doing the same.

-I need to go see Shen. I've wanted to do this for a long time, but I never had the courage. But today it's a different situation. I know how he's feeling, and I want to be with him at a time like this. -Zed was serious.

-Want me to go with you there? -I asked.

-It is not necessary. You're tired and you've done your part. Now it's my turn. -He kissed the top of my head.

-It's ok. Take care Zed. - I said smiling as I went back to bed with a smile on my face.

-I'll be back soon. -He left in a hurry and soon I heard the noise of the door being closed.

It was a little reckless idea, but it was the best idea Zed could have come up with.

I smiled as I thought about what might happen.

I hope it all right.

Syndra pov's of Zed pov's on

He hurries out of the room, only wearing pants, a tank top and an old slipper.

I used Syndra's sphere to go to the healing center. And quickly the little purple sphere had taken me there, I appeared in front of the stairs of the environment, where I found a small furry animal smoking far from the door.

I quickly climbed up the stairs and walked over to him.

-I didn't know you still smoked. -I said smiling to see him.

He chuckled and then said.

-I smoke when I'm stressed. You and Shen always ask the same questions, that's weird. -He said smiling. -How long Zed! -He got up from the frozen ground to give me a hug.

I lowered my body and returned the affection.

-Sorry for being gone for so long. -I spoke with a sincere smile.

-We understand your side after a long time. We don't hold any grudges. -He said after swallowing. - Although I met you a short time before everything happened. I got very attached to you, and I can say I missed you a lot. - He said while showing me the cigarette.

-And you became a doctor, didn't you? It's ironic that you have this profession and smoke like a chimney. -Laughs.

He burst out laughing.

-There is a lot of shit I do that you have no idea, and smoking is the least of them. -He said with a mocking smile. -My profession doesn't have much influence on that. -He pointed to the cigarette butts. -I just don't come drunk because the direction doesn't allow it.

I laughed.

-You smoked all this in how long? -I spoke while crossing my arms and looking at the floor.

- In about forty minutes, I think. Four of them was Shen who swallowed, only stopped because Aunt Lu came to take him into the waiting room. -He said as he threw the last butt on the floor.

-Aunt Lu? -I asked.

-It's the woman who takes care of the healing center, so to speak. She saw that Shen was soaking wet and made it to a waiting room to dry off, and she even cursed me for smoking. -He said as he crossed. -He is a nice person, but very annoying. -He let out a weak laugh.

-I'd like to meet her. - I spoke while leaning against the wall.

-Soon you'll meet her. -He spat on the floor. -You know Zed, I was happy to see you, and I hope we can meet again more often. But I think you should go after Shen. Let's agree he needs you more than I do. -Kennen let out a sarcastic laugh. -Don't get me wrong, I'm just being honest.

I made a sign of denial and then laughed.

-You're the best Yordle I've had the pleasure to meet. -I spoke as I bent down to hug the little mouse goodbye. -I'll find a way to come see you more often, don't worry. I promise I will keep in touch from now on.

-I think it's good! He chuckled as he hugged me. – You're the most disgraced guy I've ever had the misfortune to meet. -He said as he put his little paws on my face, analyzing my scars. -Your face is shit, huh. -He said with a mischievous smile. -I hope the next time I see you is on my operating table, to fix your face all wrong. – He said after patting my cheek.

I laughed.

-Go to shit, lab mouse. -I walked through the door while sending him a wave of the back.

-IDIOT! -He said last.

I walked slowly until I reached reception to find out where the waiting room was.

I looked around and looked over the counter, no nurses were around. Now it was just a matter of waiting.

I leaned my back against the counter and crossed my arms, staring at the rain falling on the street to distract myself.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

I hope Shen welcomes me in the same good humor as Kennen.

I opened my eyes and noticed another little Yordle running to the door.

That must be Aunt Lu the rat commented on.

She arrived in front of the door and then turned to the side where Kennen was, it wasn't long before I heard her cursing him.

-YOU WERE SMOKING AGAIN DR. KENNEN? WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT IT? -She seemed to be very angry with him. – I HAD ALREADY CALLED YOU BEFORE! YOU HAVE REPORTS TO DO, GO TO WORK AND STOP IT.

-AHHH! -A cry of defeat had been heard from him.

-AND DON'T FORGET TOGETHER THAT CRAP ON THE FLOOR DR. KENNEN

She appeared in front of the door and then turned even angrier to him, screaming again.

-YOU MISSED ANOTHER JACKET DR. KENNEN! WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT IT? TAKE IT OFF WHEN IT COMES TO THE STREET! -She was with her hands closed and her eyebrows together.

Kennen passed by and rolled his eyes.

He chuckled when he saw me leaning against the counter.

He headed for the right hallway as little Yordle ran after him.

-DO NOT FORGET TO PUT THE JACKET IN THE RIGHT BASKET DR.! -She yelled again.

-GO TO SHIT LULU! -He replied.

Lulu ran back to reception and sat in a huge chair to answer me.

-What do you want sir? -She said smiling.

-I came to see a person who is in one of the waiting rooms. -I spoke while leaning under the counter.

-It's ok. Who would it be? -She asked as she handed me a badge written "Visitor"

-Shen. -The wife checked in this morning here.

She made a sad face.

-My feelings to all of you, I heard about her situation. Hope everything was alright. -She gave a sweet smile. – Just go ahead in the left hallway, you'll soon find it.

-Thanks. -I thanked and went to the indicated place.

I strode down the long, wide white corridor until I stopped in front of a room with large glass windows. There he was, wrapped in a towel, holding a cup of coffee as he stared at the floor.

I put my hand on the handle and took a deep breath.

I opened the door slowly and then said.

-I told you to stop smoking. -I spoke while giving a sincere smile and closed the door.

Shen widened his eyes and then opened a wide smile as some tears ran down his face.

He placed the glass on a table and threw the towel over some chairs.

-It's been a long time since I heard you say that, you idiot. -He came towards me and gave me a tight hug. -I missed you.

-Me either. – I hugged him even tighter. - I couldn't stay still after knowing what had happened, I know I lost a lot of things, but I couldn't help coming to be by your side at a time like this. -I spoke while holding the cry.

-What matters is that you are here, now. Old friend. -He said in the midst of crying.

I hugged him and told him in a low voice.

-It's gonna be okay.

And a small, stubborn tear decided to flow from my eyes.

Zed pov's of Yasuo pov's on

After eating the lunch I had made, I organized the kitchen and watched the rain through the kitchen window.

I sighed heavily.

Riven was exhausted and very stressed, it was my duty to let her think, she needed a moment alone with her conscience, and I with mine.

Irelia's appearance had been too shocking for me, the fight with Vi, the dispute with Riven and the supposed death of Akali.

It was all my fault.

My heart sank at the thought that Akali might be dead, but seeing what all of Irelia's hatred did to all of us, it killed me inside.

I couldn't stand having to hide anymore, I couldn't stand this obsession Irelia had with coming after me and avenging Yone's death.

I understood his side, I understood the reasons for his revenge, but that was something I couldn't stand anymore.

I heard some passed from Riven on the porch. Is she coming here?

I volunteered to go to the door to check it out.

My throat went dry and my chest ached to see the woman I love in that state.

All because of my past mistake.

I needed to get up the courage and tell her everything that had happened.

I couldn't go on hiding it from her.

I walked slowly to the porch. I get an icy shock against my body.

I found Riven sitting on the floor, her back to the cabin wall. She had her sword in her hand. She was watching her carefully.

I walked slowly towards her.

When I sat down beside her, Riven spoke quickly.

-Yasuo. Why is Irelia chasing you so much? -She said in a wavering tone of voice, her eyes were teary.

I hugged her and she clung to my neck.

-I think it's time for you to know about my past and why I was exiled.

She sniffed and then nodded.

-It's time for you to know mine too. -She wiped the tears. -I mean that regardless of your past, I'm willing to forgive you anything to stay by your side. -She extended her small hands and made a brief caress on my face.

-I love you. -I spoke while kissing her small and delicate hands.

-I love you too. -She said while smiling.

We faced each other and took a deep breath, thus calming our heartbeats.

I took a deep breath and looked deep into her ruby eyes.

-I killed my brother, Riven. -I spoke as if I had removed the biggest burden in the world from my back.

Riven was restless and her hands were shaking a little.

-You what?
