Lucas was silent. Who cooked all this food? Of all the dishes of the waiters, this was the first time he had tasted a different kind of food.
While the maid who saw the change in Lucas' face was worried. His Master wasn't usually like this, but he also hesitated if he wanted to ask why his Master was like this. He didn't want to be a corpse for now.
"Who's cooking?" Lucas asked without taking his eyes off the plate of food in front of him. Even in his mouth, there was still a little food that he had not swallowed because he was too curious about the person who cooked this food.
"That..." answered one of the waiters hanging because he was too afraid if he answered wrongly and his master was angry. Then they will all bear their guilt with their lives.
Lucas glared at the waiter. He does not like small talk let alone wasting time just because of unclear speech.
"Miss, sir," Erix replied with a characteristically innocent grin. Damn, that guy still looks stupid.
Lucas fell silent again at Erix's answer. Hey did he hear wrong? That girl can cook and it even tastes this good?
"Where is she?"
"Miss is in the garden." Said Harry who had just closed his iPad screen.
Lucas then stood up from his seat. Leaving the dining room with everyone looking at each other for seeing his master's behavior. Gosh.. is the Master going to do something to their new Miss? No. don't let that happen.
"Perhaps Master would like to thank Miss." Erix chirps that immediately gets a smack from Mike.
"Sorry. My hands are automatic when your mouth is out of sync." Mike said flatly and then left them. While Erix just stared at his friend. What? Automatic? Hey. it's on purpose just so you know.
Harry chuckled. "Mike is a dream man." He said proudly with his eyes focused on Mike's body which was starting to move away then glanced briefly at Erix with a mocking smile.
"Don't look at me like that, Harry. My hands are itching to strangle your neck."
Meanwhile in the back garden. Lucas continued to watch a girl who was sitting pretty with her focus on something in her hand. Slowly he began to approach her and took a seat right next to the girl in the covered clothes. Hey.. he doesn't care anymore about Lucas coming? The girl continued to focus on her reading without being disturbed by the presence of someone beside her.
"What else did you read?"
Zoe turned. He was a little taken aback by the presence of Lucas beside him. But a few seconds later he returned to his calm face. "It's just a storybook." He answered softly before returning to his book and ignoring the man beside him.
"Are you bored with your book? This is the first time I've seen you bring another book." Lucas said. His eyes were still focused on the girl who wasn't looking at him. I don't know. why does he feel calm every time he is near this girl? What's wrong with him now being curious about this girl he found. Every time he approached Zoa he became more and more curious about the girl, let alone the teachings she brought. Always doing worship all the time and reading books. How complicated is the teaching in his religion?
Zoa chuckled lightly at this great Lord's words. But his gaze was still focused on the book. He then closed the book and placed it beside his seat before turning to Lucas. Ah, the man was still staring at him in silence with a look that… I don't know. Zoa also didn't know for sure what kind of look she gave.
"You investigated me, Mr. Luc?" he asked with cute squinted eyes. Hey.. she's even a grown-up girl, but why is she still like a baby with a face like that? Gosh. Lucas could have smacked his head because he was too excited.
"This is just an ordinary book to read, Not a bible like I always carry. I can even change every book I want to read but not mine. I can't replace it with anything, I just read other books to deepen my knowledge. Nothing more. My book is nobler, more valuable, and more knowledgeable than any other book in the world. I emphasize once again, I JUST DECREASE MY KNOWLEDGE WITH OTHER BOOK."
Lucas fell silent hearing Zoa's long answer. He was even more curious about this girl's religion because of what he said earlier. Hey.. where is there a book like that? There is no match in the world and his knowledge is wider than any book? Seriously.
"Hey.. are you okay?"Zoa asked waving her hand in front of Lucas' dreamy face.
Lucas woke up then straightened his seat and looked at the flower in front of him.
Zoa chuckled again at Lucas's behavior. "Don't mind what I say, sir. You'll look like a lunatic for being so confused."
Lucas smirked. "Is there a madman as handsome as me?" he asked proudly.
Zoe laughed. Gosh.. this guy is so confident. "Maybe you'll be the first. And it'll look really funny." He said then turned his face to the clear sky above him. It's a little bit to imagine if Lucas had become a handsome crazy man. Ah. there must be many women who want to chase him and accompany his madness just because he looks at his handsome face. Oops!
The corner of Lucas's lips lifted slightly. Why is this girl always able to make him smile no matter what he does? Ah, Lucas. there seems to be something wrong with you.
"Are you smiling, Mr. Luc? Maybe all the women will envy me for making you smile."
Lucas returned to his stoic expression. Did he never smile until this girl said that? Yes, it seems true that the last time he was happy was with his first woman. And that's been a long time.
"You're brave enough, I could have shot you in the head until all the contents came out Miss."
Instead of being scared, Zoa just chuckled. "That's up to you, Mr. Luc. If that's the end of my life I don't care. I want to catch up with my old man." He said with a calm face. Then he turned his face up again.
"But in fact, I am still given life until now. That means my task is not finished and I am still needed here."
Beautiful.
Different.
And.. interesting.
Lucas focused on looking at Zoa's calm face which strangely looked even more beautiful at times like this.
"Aren't you tired of looking at me? I'm afraid you'll be mesmerized by watching me for too long, and I'm bothered by that."
Lucas is a rickshaw. "So confident." He said then turned his gaze in another direction.
There was a sigh but it wasn't Lucas. That's… Zoa.
Lucas turned back. What is this girl thinking?
"Is Iko gone?" Zoa asked looking at Lucas with her calm gaze.
"Hmm."
Zoe looked down. "Is it true that he asked you to kill?"
"Hmm."
Zoe smiled faintly. Why did it feel so suffocating to hear Lucas' short answer?
"He's a stupid man."
Lucas stared intently at the girl beside him. "You like it?" he asked. There is a feeling of dislike when asking about it but never mind.. he doesn't care about that.
Zoe shook her head weakly. "No. he's my friend."
Lucas frowned at Zoa's answer. "A friend? What kind of friend do you mean?"
What's too much? This wasn't the usual Lucas. Did he start to like the Muslim girl? I don't know. He thought he was just too curious about this girl's life, nothing more.
"He's my traveling companion."
