Chapter 5 - Alarmed - Split

Split was going to apologize to the humans of the village. Split knew this was all wrong. Split was going to apologize for his species behavior to the fellow humans. Split was excited. Split hoped that maybe someone there will be around his age.

He was just two thousand and twelve years old. Compared to the others in his species, Split was just a mere child. His body was still a bit small, and although he was still weak, Split would not give up. He was going to apologize and make things right.

As Split walked through the forest, he saw a little white fence. "The humans' fence! Split's almost there!" Once Split crosses over this fence, Split will be on the humans territory! Split indeed, was nearing the edge of the forest. Split hoped the humans there would not see Split as a threat. Split did not wish to frighten the humans.

Now, over the fence and on the humans' hunting grounds, Split walked and tried to stay calm. He had done it! Now all he need to do was find where the humans lived. Suddenly, he heard a loud BANG! Split panicked, frantically looked around him. He spot a little bush. It was small but Split could fit. Desperately, Split quickly dashed into the little bush.

Split was scared. Split did not like loud noises, but Split then also discovered something else. Split could see the village from the little bush! What is the human village doing? Split wondered.

He then noticed two green, big, and heavy looking rocks inside the village. Humans with pink goo stepped out it of the rocks. Wow! Did humans live in rocks? Split then glanced towards the houses. Do they live in the huts too? Wow humans sure are interesting!

Split was fascinated as he was confused. What was that pink goo on those humans? Why didn't the other humans have them? Split was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't hear when the hunters started sprinting towards the forest.

Right as Split had finished questioning his thoughts, Split then realized that the armed men were very near. Were they hunters here for food? "If you see anything deformed and living shoot it," Split heard one if the men say.

Split was startled. No, no, there are lots of deformed creatures in the forest right? Split tried not to think too much of it. "I'll probably kill the most monsters." Split then heard. "No, I bet I'll kill the most!"

Split was really scared now. His species was the only monsters in the forest. "Kill them all, even the young ones. Make sure that they go extinct." As soon as he heard the footsteps grow distant, he hurriedly ran towards the direction of his species.

The one thing about monsters was that they had great senses, about twice as powerful than the humans. If one monster was lost from the group, they could easily find their way back with the help of these extraordinary senses. Split always knew where his species were, even when they were constantly on the move, or when Split was completely lost. Split only hoped that he would be fast enough to reach them before the hunters did.
