Chapter 6 - Chapter 3 - Part 2

『Exterminate the traitors!』

A thick bass voice shouted. Countless knights who were surrounding the castle in line with his words followed and rushed to the castle with shouts. In the fortress, he shot a bow at the knights surrounding the fortress, but the number of knights surrounding the fortress was too large. The catapult smashed a large rock and broke the wall. It looked as if they were starting a war against a castle. When the gates were finally broken and opened by the knights, the knights who had refined in the line came inside. There were knights against them with a tense look. Those were the faces Edellis knew. They were the ones she saw at the training center just before. Then she realized that being a traitor was her own family.

'Rebellion?! It's ridiculous! Why did my family commit a treason?'

Those who greeted her with a smile a little while ago were struck by arrows and swords and then fell.

"No no!"

No matter how much she shook her head and shouted no, it was no use. Even though she wanted to help a person wearing a cloak with the Count's coat of arms, her hand couldn't reach them and wandered in the air. The countess' siblings vainly lost their lives. It was close to one-sided slaughter. The Count who could no longer use his hand due to the overwhelming difference in number and skill of the Imperial Knights as if invading from the top.

The Imperial forces quickly infiltrated the castle and destroyed everything.

They swept through the dining room where Edellis had a good time with her father, the dance hall where she practiced dancing, and the library where she is now.

In the video, the library was empty, so the knight just came in, looked around, and went straight out, but when passing in front of her seat, Edellis had to sit down, swallow her breath, and fall without knowing it.

『Ahhhhhh! Sa, save me…』

People screamed constantly. The knights cut past them as if they had nothing to listen before they even said to be saved.

"No! Noel! … Lisa!"

They were the ones who cared about her. Edellis, who couldn't see any more, closed her eyes and her ears. People's screams hit her eardrums, as if the hand that closed the ears shouted into her ears.

Some of them, like Anne, have been with her since their childhood, and some of them also share the time together.

When I thought so, I couldn't see with my eyes open. Even when I opened the book for the first time, I thought that I wouldn't miss a small clue because I might get a clue to my future life. However, despite such a pledge, I wanted to throw it all away now and jump out of the library right now. However, my legs have no strength, so I had to sit down and close my eyes tightly. Eventually, after the screaming ceased, Edellis removed the hand that was blocking her ears. And when she opened her eyes, the Emperor stepped in slowly through the wide open door. His face was hazy and hard to see, but she knew that he was the Emperor from the dazzling veil on his clothes. Every time he stepped on, the screaming faded. There is no one left to shout anymore.

Before long, no more screams continued, and when it was completely silenced, a bloody man was dragged out before the Emperor. The one who was pulled out forcibly raising his head from the floor while trampled his shoulders by the knights. He lifted his head, clenching his teeth.

"Ah, father…."

Edellis was able to recognize the bloody man at once. That he was her father, Count Brill.

"If you were stay still, your life would have been spared."

Her father cried at the Emperor's words.

"What is the meaning of a father, who lost his daughter, and his family, begging for spare his life?"

Tears were flowing from his eyes mixed with blood. Tears in Edellis eyes also ran down her cheeks. Only now I can understand why my father committed this reckless rebellion.

'Because of me…'

Although he has been pretty since he was young, he was a father who was somewhat difficult. After my mother died, only me and my father was left. When I was stabbed and killed by the Emperor's sword, my father pulled out the sword to revenge his daughter.

'Father, I'm sorry…'

Edellis death hadn't happened yet, but it seemed like she had a rock on her chest.

If I hadn't read this book, I probably didn't know until my death how much my father cares for me. After knowing her father's heart, Edellis became more certain.

"What is the meaning of those who committed a failed rebellion?"

However, the Emperor mocked, imitating the words of the Count as if it were the same. The Count shouted in anger.

"History will remember you. You are a bloody tyrant who killed his wife!』

However, the anger of her father could no longer be followed by the Emperor's words.

"Here is Agnes Brill's tomb."

"Ah, no…』"

"Brill's are all killed, and abolishes Joern Bill from the Count title at this moment and confines him to the Imperial dungeon.

A week later, the nobles will be gathered and hanged. Those involved in this will also be with you, so catch them."

And along with the body of Joern Brill, the body of former Countess Agnes Brill will also be thrown into the field. Her father's angry shouts made her ears deaf.

*****

The light erupted once more in the book, and nothing seemed to happened in the library. It was already after she died, so she thought it wouldn't be much of a story. However, it was as shocking as her death. Edellis heart was frustrated as if something had become hurts.

'This is my…I can't believe it's the future of our family…'

I tried pounding my chest with my fist in a frustrated heart, but my heart wasn't relieved. It felt like the stories I had already seen in the book settled in the corner of my heart.

'Father, father…'

A warm temperature was felt on Edellis face, who couldn't cry properly and shed tears. Lehan, who didn't know when he came in, was wiping her tears with his handkerchief. Lehan looked at Edellis with an anxious face.

"What happened to you?"

Who will believe her? I saw a future where I was stabbed to death. And in that future, my father rebelled for me. There was no evidence. It was obvious that anyone would consider it a vain delusion. So Edellis shook her head. When she saw Lehan wipe away her tears with his worried face, her emotions rose.

"Are you crying like this when nothing happened?"

I was worried about what to say to Lehan, who was frustrated. Then my eyes stared at the book and I thought that he is the main character, so that the book might look different from others.

'Wouldn't it be okay if I tell Lehan?'

I saw this book and found out that you were in the arena and I brought you. You are the proof. So, can you help me to avoid being stabbed and killed?

"Lehan, maybe…That book, see…female?"

"A book?"

Lehan's hand touched the book at the end of Edellis's gaze. However, the words from Lehan far exceeded her expectations.

"Isn't this a book that doesn't have any content?"

Edellis began to cry out loud, as if his words were a catalyst. I'm sad about why I have such a future. Because she was pathetic and she didn't know his father's heart. The Emperor hated it so much, but because she was helpless. I feel frustrated that no one will trust me.

"My lady, everything's gonna be okay."

When Lehan saw Edellis pouring out her tears suddenly, he was embarrassed, and then he sootheed her. Contemplating how to comfort her, he remembered that he needed somebody's hug when he was struggling, thinking whether he should continue to live like that in the arena, rather than dying.

So, Lehan carefully placed his hand on her shoulder and pulled her into his arms and hugged her. He patted her back and comforted her, and Edellis thin arm hugged Lehan's back.
