Chapter 242 - Prologue: The Girl Who Always Smiles

A grassy plains spread out through the horizon, a couple was walking through the plains carrying some baskets.

"Liam~!!!" A young lady shouted in excitement, as she ran through the short grass looking for a good place. She waved her hands towards the young man who carried the baskets. At a distance, she sounded excited, as she had seen a remarkable view. She was wearing a white one piece dress, signifying her purity as her pink hair flowed elegantly down to her knees. The young man caught up, happily focusing his gaze towards the girl. Both were young, around the ripe age of barely becoming an adult.

When the man reached the girl's position, he felt amazed by the view. A tree nearby for a decent shade, seeing a beautiful lake down the plains as they see mountains at a distance. With the sky on the horizon slowly turning white as the clouds were gathering. The two of them lowered the baskets on the grass before taking out a large piece of cloth and laid it on the grass flatly.

"Hey Liam, are you ready to see what I made for you?" The girl excitedly asked the man as she inserts her hands in a basket. "Hmm, I'm curious as well, considering how much I've been wanting to open it beforehand." The girl pouted, and turned her head away. "Mmm! I said no peeking into it!" "Ahahaha! I didn't peek, but I do want to know now." The girl brought up a sandwich, which seemingly had a nice piece of fish meat as the centerpiece along with some other condiments neatly spread within. "Tada~! It's your favorite tuna sandwich~! I did add a bit more variety this time." "Ooh!!!" The man gently took the sandwich from her hands and took a bite quickly out of excitement. "T-This tastes absolutely divine!" "Hehe~! I'm glad you liked it~!" The girl also brought out a piece and started eating. She sat down next to the man named Liam and rested her head on his left shoulder as they continued eating while happily watching the scenery.

After a bit of time, they recognized that the weather was starting to get cloudy. "Ahh... Liam..." The girl's smile was turning a bit wry, which he decided to pat her head gently before reassuring her. "Don't worry... I'll deal with it." He then raised his right arm so he doesn't disturb the girl who was leaning on his left shoulder. The clouds started to spread out, revealing a beautiful sunshine in their scenery and a rainbow on the horizon. The girl's bright smile returned completely as the two continued to enjoy their picnic.

Draxus woke up from his sleep in the middle of the night, he was clutching his chest as he forcefully brought his body up to a seated position. He looked around for the time being, and noticed lingering feelings on his left shoulder. "H-Huh...?" He now realized what may have happened. A dream of a different world, which was not the first time that happened. As it was something that happened around half a decade ago for him. Back when he was still in a relationship with somebody else in Earth. However, in the current state of his life, he fully recognizes what happened instead of thinking of it as some vision.

"Liam Belial..." He muttered the name of the person who he was looking through in his dream. "Who was the girl again...? I could use Moonlit Memory to look into it..." Wanting to investigate further, he moved towards his balcony and sat down, brought out a kettle and started heating it with magic along with a single teacup and tea leaves from his interdimensional storage. "Oh right, it's happening pretty soon now huh..." Before long he diverted his thoughts towards his plan for Aquila instead.
