A few hours had passed since Draxus cured Scarlet's vision and voice. The group now continued to discuss about the terms of the alliance as they have a chance to get more progress towards the main goal.
Scarlet and Violetta remained in Scarlet's room for the recovery to progress while their parents and Draxus moved towards a different room for a proper discussion.
Viceroy left that room under Draxus's orders to keep an eye on Scarlet and Violetta as he couldn't just leave the two on their own specially when Scarlet was targeted once.
"Oh? Sir Viceroy? Is there something you need?" "Nah, I was told by Drax to just keep an eye in case things happen, but..." Viceroy looked over to the two who were chatting about. "What does Miss Scarlet think about Drax?" "Eh?" Scarlet was surprised to the sudden question brought to her. It was something that Viceroy was curious about, as just earlier, she had clung on to Draxus as if clinging for dear life. Scarlet simply blushed in surprise, as she suddenly remembered how she acted towards an Archon. But then she immediately remembered how she somehow understood that she has somebody who can half-sympathize.
"He is..." She was hesitating what to say, as she couldn't really form her thoughts into words. "I can't really describe but... If you ask me how I feel I think I want to have him around me..." Those words alone got Viceroy to understand the depth of the situation. "If the harem is truly the key to stop the souls from rampaging... But what if..." Viceroy kept to his mind as he processed his thoughts. "If Draxus ends up being the one on rampage..." He closed his eyes to clear his thoughts, as he can't get distracted as of the moment. "Draxus has six fiancés already, and there is a potential seventh candidate. Most of them are royalty, and not only that, his work line is very dangerous. Are you willing to push through such obstacles just for him?" Viceroy wanted to confirm things, as he had completely related to Draxus a few years when the abandonment incident happened. "I-If that's the case, then he must be an amazing person..." "To be able to be betrothed to many royals... Then he must've contributed so much..." "The truth about that matter is that he personally selects who he marries. But there's also the input of the fiancés." "Input...?" "He actually has no say in it. But his fiancés would discuss things between them whether it's okay. Well, his actions do have impact on their decision though..." "How so?" "Well, you'll see eventually, but you're willing to be by his side right?" That question Viceroy had got Scarlet to nod slightly. She was still nervous as she recently recovered, but she was willing to dedicate her life to somebody who gave her a new chance. "Then, I'll be..." The door was suddenly opened showing Draxus who had a serious expression. "Viceroy, I need you to prep for combat immediately." "Prep? Why- Wait... Got it!" Viceroy gained a premonition, as he immediately realized that Draxus had his eyes start to glow somewhat brightly.
Due to the emergency of the situation, there was no other time to request for backup from the Order. "Viceroy, play defense, it's only about a hundred assassins, I'd say about midgrade." "You're expecting me to fend off against this many assassins? I know we're not really normal in terms of power but this still sounds pretty damn ominous." "Relax, I'll also be helping, so it's pretty much fifty-fifty for us." "Considering it's you, it sounds like seventy-thirty favored to you." "Heh, but we simply have to get rid of these with a time limit." "Time limit you say?" Upon hearing time limit, Viceroy felt ominous, as he may have forgotten something very important.
Viceroy was tasked to hunt down assassins from the Solarian faction. He was only told to reap their consciousness and avoid killing if possible. He tried questioning the reason, but Draxus simply shrugged off the question as [Sending a message]. "For Drax to even expressly play defense, I guess he's used to fighting in a dead corner..." Viceroy somewhat complained as he started rushing through the city. He quickly scouted for enemies with orange-ish or golden hair, and immediately went to pursue them.
Before long Viceroy managed to knock down about twenty assassins moving around. He immediately went back to the manor to see how Draxus went around. Just as he entered the area of the manor however, a large light passed by above him. "Shi-!" But instead of disintegrating the manor, it was blocked by a massive magic circle. He went in for a closer look to see who the person that managed to block such an attack. "And to the surprise of nobody..." As he muttered to himself, he saw Draxus behind the magic circle like it's not even close to breaking.
He went under the contest of power, he took notice of the Lunarian royal family gazing at him. "What just happened?" "Huh? Oh Viceroy, Draxus just..." The one who immediately responded was Violetta. She glanced over to Scarlet who was locked towards Draxus with her gaze. "This power..." "Yes, this is what the Kingfisher is made of. An unbreakable defensive wall even if it's all by himself." "How does he even hold out this kind of attack...? The Solare cannon of the Solarians can easily destroy cities with one attack as far as we heard. But for Sir Kingfisher to defend against it like it's nothing..." "It's because he's also processing the power of their weapon. His mind can process up to a hundred things at once. Thus he could constantly improve the barrier while constantly repairing-" "Viceroy, to your eight o'clock." He suddenly received a telepathy from Draxus. To which he immediately acted by creating a defensive wall using crystals towards the direction that was instructed. Three arrows were stopped on their tracks to which Viceroy immediately clicked his tongue. "There's still stragglers I guess... How many are there?" "Around a dozen, I'll boost you with [Reversed Hanged Man]." "Got it, let's clean up the rest..." As the solare starts to dwindle in power, Draxus immediately switched towards a [Fortune Card] to boost up Viceroy's perception, and with the increase in power, Viceroy kept up the defense and led to a quick knockdown of the last few assassins.
"Drax, after this we're done right?" A couple hours later after the attack, Draxus and Viceroy talked on a corner of a party, discussing about the plans for the future. "Well, you're done, but I have some explaining to do." "Oh right. Are you really going on the offensive this time?" "Yeah, considering how Serkyrio acted towards me when explaining more about the souls and the hearts. And to how Reito reacted when Matilda was seen, I have to take Scarlet with me. This may be just Serkyrio's agenda, but it also meant that we're getting closer to stabilize my body and allow me to fully use my power." Viceroy was somewhat surprised as Draxus had already realized what Serkyrio was planning. There was never any mention towards Draxus about finding the hearts which is in the world they're in. "Do you have an agenda of your own Drax? For doing this?" Viceroy asked a bit as he was slightly concerned. "Yep, I just want to amend my failures. Even if the girls I have already know nothing about how they may or may not be the ones back at those worlds. I at least want to not fail them, in here. There is still, one, or maybe two out there, wandering around. But the only way for me to know if this was simply fate orchestrated by Serkyrio's authority, is to move forward." Viceroy simply smiled, as he ate the last of the food on his plate. Both of them were standing while eating, talking about the reasons why Draxus acted out of his position and went to personal behavior towards Lunarians immediately. Violetta and Scarlet called out to them, urging them to quickly finish their plates. Scarlet came closer as Draxus finished his plate. Viceroy took a glance towards the center of the party, a dance was about to start. "I guess you'll have to go for a dance Drax." "With Viceroy bickering Draxus to dance with Scarlet, he simply smiled as he gestured to offer. "Care for a dance? Miss Scarlet?" Scarlet took Draxus's hand that he had offered, and was led to the dance floor by him. Viceroy simply stood there as he brought out his phone. He took a picture and made a call towards Serkyrio. "Mission complete, but it seems Draxus had already realized your agenda." "Kek, what can you expect from him? He also has his own agenda in this anyway. Even Arlesk and Remuel do." Viceroy felt surprised as not only Draxus and Serkyrio, but Remuel and Arlesk also had their own agendas towards their plans towards him. "Since you're done with your mission, feel free to take the rest of your vacation in your pace. Bring your girlfriend somewhere or something. You can claim your reward at the Emperor's office, just ask one of the secretaries." "Got it." Viceroy decided to stay at the party a little longer as he wanted to eat a bit more.
