Chapter 167 - Earth Field Trip: Following Happiness

"Drax?" Olivia went around the mansion to look for Draxus. It was now their second week of travel and they didn't really have any activity to show. They did attend the reunion party that occurred some time ago with his classmates, but afterwards, Draxus decided to give them a tour on other various places. This included hot springs, school festivities from his former school, amusement parks, and such. He even brought them to movie theaters and other famous tourist spots. The girls enjoyed every bit of life in it, and now they were thinking about what to do next.

Draxus hadn't sleep for the entirety of their vacation. This is generally because he stood guard to keep an eye for any possible scouting by any troublesome group, and to keep their own presences hidden from the bigger issues such as the Council. "What is it? Livi?" Draxus immediately passed his entire attention to Olivia after she called out to him who was simply drinking tea in the balcony at peace. "Are you free right now?" Hearing the question, Draxus offered her to sit down on the seat in front of him. He then poured a cup of tea for her to drink a bit. "Free? Well, as long as I am here I'm actually free." "That's not what I meant." After interjecting what Draxus had said about being free, Olivia took a small sip before continuing her words. "Is your mind free?" Draxus realized what she had meant and quickly just loosened up. "I see, well..." Draxus had a faraway look but kept a smile so that she wouldn't worry. "I've been really thinking about my life so far... After so much has happened and revealed... I never thought I'd actually live out like a human." Draxus sipped a bit of tea before continuing. "But now that I have met you girls, I feel like... This kind of life is the best one after all. Sure, being the [Prime Existence] is great and all, knowing that everything that was created all branches back to me. But, to feel emotions such as hope and love, longing, and even enjoyment. It's just entirely different." Draxus showed no signs of melancholy nor regret, he remained genuinely happy in his current life that he leads. He glanced over to Olivia and saw her smile. This caused him to stop for a second in charm. Afterwards, he simply smiled as he reached out his hand to her head. "I feel much better after meeting everyone. There's no comparing it to everything I had lived for." "Wherever you will go Drax, we will always be by your side, whatever troubles you face, we all face it together. We'll follow you forever in eternity." To Olivia's eyes, there was nobody that could ever compare to Draxus. Ever since the day she met him, back when she walked down from the carriage in Mt. Valtav, there was a connection that had brought them together. It felt mysterious to her, but she clearly saw something that she could never imagine in her very own life that time.

Before the time the summoning occurred, Olivia's mind had always been wandering around. Despite being born as a princess, she always admired the people that have a position lower than hers. Nobles aside, the life of common folk always had something that she thought she could never be able to attain. It was the freedom that the common folk had. Not just bare freedom, but the freedom to love whoever they longed for. Sometimes, she could hear her brother Oswald getting frustrated, since he's the prince of the country of Quisterion, it was known that he would be shouldering the kingdom in the near future. But he still kept true to his family and never abandoned them in time of need. Because of his position, he was often judged by multiple nobles as incompetent and frail for a prince. He managed to get engaged with a lower rank noble just because they were childhood friends, but in Olivia's case, it was much more difficult as she was a princess. Any son of a higher rank noble is enough to pawn her there, but her family did everything they could just to stall it out.

"Don't you dare Duke Elliot! Just because you have your achievements listed, does not mean you get to do whatever you wish!" Olivia bore witness of a massive argument between her brother Oswald, and the young Duke, Elliot. Ulysses was standing in between stopping the two from escalating it into a fight. "You have to tell the king soon, that it's already time for Princess Olivia to be engaged. Only I have the suitable position that can take her in." In the middle of the argument, the three of them noticed Olivia's presence and abruptly stopped their argument. Olivia took a step backward, realizing what she just listened to and started to run back to her room. "Olivia wait!" Oswald tried to make chase, but Ulysses stopped him. Due Elliot snorted and left the two of them on their own. "Oswald, now's not the time. There's still chances for this situation. Even if the nobles do not agree, we will ensure she gets the life that she wanted." "Yeah, so you're telling me it is ready?" Ulysses nodded as he made a small explanation. "I was honestly doubting them, knowing that those that made a deal were massive war freaks. But this is the very last time I will collude with them." Ulysses sighed as he felt weighed down from the massive decision he made without having the eyes of the king. But it was for the good of their own country.

In the meantime, Olivia had hidden herself in her bedsheet as she continued to cry. She was already popular, since her position as a princess is something that people wish to connect to, they had attempted to call out to her various times, even ask for her hand for their son's marriages. She had difficulty to resist them, as there could be repercussion when she does decline them. But she was never fond of the sons of nobles that she found. While there were some promising people, such as Duke Elliot, she later found out that he was after the throne.

Later on, Oswald entered her room after she had calmed down. The two had a bit of an awkward atmosphere despite being siblings. Oswald started by telling her not to worry about the marriage proposals, as they were all declined by him and the king himself. After that, he couldn't continue about anything.

Five days later, Oswald went to Olivia's room again, this time with Ulysses. They told her about the deal they had with some men calling themselves as the Council. In exchange for the unidentified historical ore that was stored in the palace treasury and a copy of the summoning circle, they agreed to summon something from a different world. What they had summoned were not fierce beasts that could be used as a weapon for war, but human beings from a different world from theirs. Due to the mass number of people included in the summon, there was an error of the location on where they were summoned. "Would you like to come with us?" Olivia nodded to Ulysses's question, and with that, they quickly went towards Mt. Valtav.

"Were [Otherworlders] this sophisticated? Even as common folk?" That thought crossed her mind after she first saw Serkyrio handle negotiations. But after seeing the other three guys, Remuel, Arlesk, and Draxus messing around behind him, she felt that they were completely lax despite being in front of royalty or nobility. Her gaze connected with Draxus, after seeing his glowing headset and glowy eyes, she realized that she felt like she was being pulled out of curiosity. After the negotiations, she and her friend Celestine went towards Draxus as he left the group to fiddle with an object in his hands. "Umm..." She was nervous when she first greeted him, knowing that Draxus simply kept his cool and talked to her normally. "You're... The princess right? Nice to meet you, I'm Draxus Heimdal." He returned the object he was fiddling with in his pocket, and greeted her with a relaxed smile while offering a handshake.

This memory of hers, gave her a lot of hope. She never thought that she had a chance to explore a life beyond royalty. A chance to see a different world than hers, with a man by her side that is capable to doing the greatest things. And was shown that his position, was different. While in this world, he was only a disciple, and holds a position similar to country leaders. But beyond their lives, he's far greater than anything else in existence.

"Something on your mind?" Draxus, finishing his tea, calmly asked Olivia something. Olivia shook her head with a smile, as she no longer has to worry about the past. "It's nothing, just some memories from the past... And how much I value the present." "I understand bits on how royalty works, since outside from being an entirely different existence, I'm born as human in this world. And neither my lives as either compare to you when it comes to royal etiquette. But, there's one thing I do know." Draxus stopped for a second and stood up. Olivia stood up as well and thought that he was about to head back. But...

"Ah...!" She was surprised at how he move behind to hug her from behind. "Any troubles you face, is something I will be facing as well. There's no need to tackle anything alone, we take it all together, with everyone else of course." The two of them stared at the sunset with smiles. The two of them are prepared for completely everything.
