The next day, Remuel and Bethany quicky reentered the dungeon right after taking their breakfast. They both had wished that they could finish the dungeon as soon as possible as there could be more floors. But before they could proceed, they had to take the keystone had have it solved by Harold.
Back on the third room of the second floor, Remuel gave instructions to Bethany to stand on a pressure plate to open up the path. Remuel stood on the next pressure plate to keep both glass doors open. He then shot open a portal through the small gap of glass to create a portal from inside the small chamber that stored the cube.
"Alright, go through the portal and retrieve the keystone." Remuel shot another portal behind the two of them for Bethany to pass through. She quickly retrieved the shuffled cube and returned to her position, allowing Remuel to return to the center.
"Good, let's go back to Harold for a bit to get this done." Remuel wasn't planning to waste any time today so he set down a marker for him to teleport back to the dungeon directly. He thought about using the portal gun for a quick return, but Draxus had trouble making it potent enough to create long distance portals, and due to the rush, he can't perfect the gadget. It was understandable as he pretty much went on a full craze just to complete everything as soon as possible. However, Draxus had developed a quick return using a beacon. It can only be used once.
"Well, it's better to have it here so we can give it some use." Remuel took Bethany's hand and quickly teleported back to the castle in his room. He quickly went for Harold to solve the cube and only contact him once its done. The two then went around for a quick tour in the capital of Preeliance.
Since Remuel is an archon, people of the country would definitely bow their heads in awe. At first, Bethany didn't feel comfortable getting a huge amount of attention just by walking around town. But, since Remuel's position exists, she simply shrugged off the discomfort and relied on him to handle the necessary things.
Before long, Harold contacted them which made them quickly return to the castle and retrieve the solved cube.
"It wasn't even long since we went out to check, but damn you really finished this easily." Remuel praised Harold due to their difference in level of knowledge. "Well, my old record to finish this was a lot faster, but since it's been a while since I held a [5x5x5] version of it, I kinda ended up slowing down." Bethany could only watch as she felt that there was no chance for any competition against Harold in terms of knowledge. "But still, it's pretty good. Thanks, I'll treat you to some stuff later." Remuel hurriedly thanked Harold which quickly responded. "Yeah sure, pizza would be good when you're done aight?" Remuel grinned as he took Bethany's hand to activate the beacon that was placed back in the third room of the dungeon. They repeated the process to store the cube back to its place and it opened the door at the center.
Behind the door, Remuel saw a sign and quickly read it. "Only one puzzle awaits at the final floor, then the reward shall come afterwards." He smiled as he doesn't have to do a lot more to complete the dungeon, but the appearance of it looked newer than the other puzzles. However, they didn't have time to waste, the two proceeded to walk down to the final floor.
After they arrived to the room, they were completely met with a long hall and a vault at the end of it. Bethany found a sign which served as the hint of the room. "This hall has many illusions hidden in the walls. Match all the cubes for their respective buttons and the vault shall open." Remuel pondered for a little while before he stepped forward to check more of it, it was then the true puzzle began. Loud banging sounds of metal start to tremble the floor, prompting Remuel to use his magic to check through which walls are made up of illusion. He stuck his head through and noticed that a piece of metal was slowly moving up towards him. He pulled back and checked once more only to see that the bottom side of the metal board had multiple sharp spikes in it. It then plunged down which made Remuel pull his head back instantly. "Uwahh, dangerous!" He pulled back too much which made him tumble down to a sitting position. He quickly instructed Bethany to simply stay back and allow him to handle everything. Because he already understood what to do.
"Stay back for this and allow me to handle it." A matching type puzzle where if you peek into the wall of illusion, your body can get squished down to mere putty. Remuel used the Gravity gun to pull the cube through the wall towards him. He saw a symbol of a moon and checked the other side. Each illusion wall on the other side represents all the buttons, Remuel had to check the symbols on each button by creating a portal through the long gap. It was an easy puzzle, until...
"Woaahh!!" "Remuel!!" Remuel passed through the floor while walking and had to return back to the hall by constant wall-jumping. He then realized that some illusions are completely undetectable. When he got back to solid ground, a large piston suddenly pushed up from the hole where he came from, smashing into the ceiling. Multiple holes were left as the piston had powerful spikes in it. Bethany was able to bear witness the extreme level of danger the final puzzle had, she trembled in her legs as she thought about trying to help Remuel. But the instructions given to her, and to see that she could easily die in the situation, prevented her from moving. On a positive note, the illusion on the floor which the piston passed through disappeared. But even with such danger now, Remuel was able to finish solving everything within one hour.
And at last, they had finally conquered the [Dungeon of Illusion] as the door to the vault had opened. Inside the vault was a huge amount of gold, ranging from coins, to various golden ornaments. The most important thing that Remuel required is a book that's placed on a golden lectern in the middle of the room. When Remuel took the book out from its place, the golden pedestal disappeared. Bethany looked around in expectation as the room was filled to the brim with riches. But since Remuel was finally able to attain what he needs, he spoke in a calm manner. "Let's send this all to the castle of Luventrion. though I should as the king for permission to take the golden toilet for myself." When Bethany heard Remuel's last sentence, she let out a confused [Eh?] and focused her gaze on him. "It's basically to flex against Draxus and Arlesk, because we tend to play games on who will be richer. But eh, let's get all these to the castle first. [Interdimensional Storage] [Grouping Dungeon Treasure]" Remuel took in all the gold and made it as a group, this ensures that everything in his storage is highly organized.
The two returned to the castle of Luventrion to finally report that they had finished completing the entire dungeon of illusion. The king was delighted as he thought about granting the title of [Puzzlemaster] to Remuel. But Remuel quickly tried to stop him from doing so. "Wait wait, honestly I wasn't the person that solved the keystones, we had Harold quickly solve the other two keystones as they proved to be more difficult for me." Remuel interjected and tried to decline the reward, but the king looked a little troubled as he cannot give the title to anybody else at that point. "But, if there's one that deserves the title, it should be Bethany. She helped me out in there after all." When Remuel pointed his finger to Bethany, she quickly moved her gaze towards him in shock. The king was agreed to Remuel's words and decided to grant Bethany the [Puzzlemaster] title. It was at that time that the king announced the official engagement between the two.
Remuel could only smile as he felt that his mission is finally complete.
