Chapter 89 - Epilogue: Hope in Despair

A few days had passed since the wild incident of the ritual in Santuria and Draxus's reversal. Despite the entire situation having already been resolved, there were still no signs of Draxus waking up. A certain group tend to spend just a little bit of their time as to visit and observe him from a distance in the observation room of the laboratory. Currently, it's just Olivia and Gwen there, watching as Harold who is in writing down something in the records while wearing a white, sterile lab coat like a true scientist. There was no tension, despite having a lot of questions had already been exchanged between the other girls and Gwen, they seem to have not minded it at all and just shrugged it all off as something Draxus-like. Olivia broke the silence after some time as while she kept her gaze at the unconscious young man inside the laboratory capsule.

"Hey... Gwen... I'm sorry..." Gwen twitched in reaction as she wasn't expecting Olivia to start with an apology. Thus, asking her about it. "W-Wait... Why...?" Gwen turned her gaze towards Olivia and saw her green hair slowly flutter around as the room is being air-conditioned. "Well... I pretty much failed... I tried to get everyone to safety... But in the end, Draxus lost himself from the deadly power of his tarot card... As he saw us get hurt..." Olivia kept her eyes towards Draxus as she continued to talk about her attempts. "Honestly... I wanted to impress him... That I can actually stand together with him in a harsh battlefield, like an enemy facing a mirror of him... But... Hehe..." Olivia laughed a little as she mocked herself. Gwen finally interjected as she shook her head. "It's alright... But seeing as Draxus could actually be facing the most pain... I think the best thing we could do is to simply become the hope inside the world of despair in him... You heard them right...? He's sensitive to loss and despair..." Olivia nodded "Yeah..." and turned her gaze to Gwen. "You're right, I guess I might have to try harder this time... He's likely going to be asking us to join him in future adventures, but today, we should just wait for him to wake up." Olivia sat down on a chair as she returned her gaze at Draxus. Gwen sat down next to her and simply smiled as she watched what was happening inside the laboratory while hoping for Draxus to wake up. "By the way, since you left your country, what would happen then? Don't you think they would be worried? Your mother I mean?" Just as Olivia asked that, Gwen simply shook her head sideways as she looked over to Olivia. "Well, I'm sure mother understands, I'll head back and ask her that I will be staying by Draxus's side from now on." Olivia then turned her gaze in interest as she let out her curiosity about it. "Hmm? Eager to stay by Drax?" Gwen simply chuckled as she quickly responded. "I don't want to be left out after all, it would be unfair." The two girls then laughed it off as both of them understood their feelings for the same person. "Let's support him together, with everyone." Gwen simply nodded after hearing Olivia's words. She then added something important to remind her to never stray out. "Just as we are his hope from the despair, he's also our hope of living a beautiful life."

Three more people entered the observation room covered in sweat as they just finished training. "Oh! Matilda! Lily! Julie! Done training?" The three girls that entered let out exhausted responses as they each wanted to rest after their training. "Yeah, but as expected, we are that worried about him..." The other two nodded in agreement as they sat on different chairs while watching what's happening inside the laboratory. However, they got a little noisy as Gwen asked them the story on how they fell. To which it let for Lily to chuckle a little. "You know, I have a feeling that we have to tell our stories a couple more times." Julie immediately realized it and chuckled along with her twin sister. Matilda then shrugs her shoulders and just looked at all of them with a gentle smile. "Yeah, it's Draxus after all."
