As Felix continued to wait by her door the sun began to set as he sighed and said "I've been waiting for a while, how much longer am I gonna have to sit here?" As Felix sat there the voice said "This is boring… maybe I should answer your question on why it feels wrong to you." Felix glanced up into the sky as he said "But let me guess, it would be less interesting so you're not gonna?" The voice laughed as it said, "Hardly, revealing this may make waiting worthwhile." As blue fire engulfed Felix he appeared in front of the girl who was holding the lantern once again. The girl stared at Felix who was now a fox as she said "Oh right… you forgot to grab a leaf." The girl plucked a leaf from a nearby tree and said "I don't know why you keep using your birth tree leaves, any leaf will do, although the birth tree leaves work better." As she set the leaf on his head she smiled and said "Now then, care to listen to me explain your question earlier?" Felix stared at her for a moment and then said "S-sure, I'll listen to what you have to say."
The girl smiled as she said, "You weren't always a fox spirit, and I'm pretty sure you've gradually forgotten that." The girl pointed to him and asked "Do you remember anything at all?" Felix thought for a moment as he nervously said "N-no… nothing before waking up under my birth tree anyway." The girl's smile grew as she said "You were once a human, although you've forgotten that, and the reason you feel so… guilty about answering her is because you've had a wife, and although you can't remember her, you still feel connected to her." Felix stared at her silently as she said "And you know that spirit I had you come along to banish?" Felix nodded as he said "Yeah… you said it wanted to see me?" The girl's smile grew even wider as she laughed and said "That was your deceased wife." Felix froze for a moment as he asked "Is she… alright?" The girl laughed as she said, "Oh she's fine… but I forgot to mention a few things about spirits, like how Vex was born a spirit and that's why she's not bound to the spirit realm while your wife is stuck there until forgotten." The girl began to laugh historically as she said "Oh, and you should've heard what she said when she found your body."
The girl pointed at Felix while still laughing as she said "She held your cold dead body while crying and begged to the gods that you'd live." Felix thought about her spirit for a moment as he fell silent for a moment and then asked "Did… the gods listen?" The girl stopped laughing as she said "No, unfortunately… instead my boss, the only ten tail alive found her, and to test her will he took her life and made you a fox spirit with the only condition being that she got to see you at least once before she crossed over permanently." Felix stared at his hands as he sadly said "Then… everything that I am now… is thanks to her." The girl smiled as she said, "Yes however that ten tailed put you under my watch, so I'm gonna use you to satisfy my boredom." Felix clutched his hands as he asked "But why would she trade her life for mine?" The girl continued to smile as she said "That's not important right now, but I will tell you this because it might make it more interesting, as the ten tailed killed her she said a little prayer praying that you'd do whatever made you happiest and that she'd rather you be surrounded by people who are fond of you than searching endlessly for her." As blue flame surrounded Felix he mumbled "Whatever… makes me happiest?"
As Felix reappeared in an alleyway beside some homeless people warming up with a barrel fire in the middle of the night Felix looked around and said "This isn't the apartments." As the homeless people stared at him the voice cheekily said "Of course not, I put you somewhere near that Lilac person, now go entertain me." Felix glanced at the homeless people as he said "Sorry for intruding." As Felix walked away he asked the voice "Isn't being seen by them bad?" The voice laughed as she said, "Do you really think society would believe them?" Felix sighed as he said "At first I thought you were somewhat considerate but after today… I'm not so sure anymore." As Felix stepped out of the alleyway the voice said "You're getting closer, she should be in one of those human things called a park." The voice then seems happy as it said "And then I'll get to see something interesting." Felix stared across the street at a park as he nervously said "B-but… I still haven't thought of how I'll reply." The voice fell silent as Felix asked "W-what if… I say something and she hates me for it?" The voice continued to be quiet for a few more moments as it then said "I suppose without her it would be less entertaining." As Felix stood there he glanced up at the night sky and said "Hey voice… do you… maybe give out hints… like in those games Daka told me about?"
The voice seemed happy as it said "It would be boring if she left, so do exactly as I tell you." As Felix turned into a fox and dashed across the road he thought "So she does kinda have a heart." As Felix ran around the park he seen Lilac sitting on a nearby bench with a bright red face talking to herself. As Felix got closer he heard her say "All you had to do was stay quiet, now that you've said something like that it's gonna be embarrassing just seeing him." Felix sat down in front of the bench as he thought "She seems to be having trouble with this too." As Lilac let out a sigh she said "Lilac your such an idiot." As she sat there Felix changed into his human form and took a deep breath as he shouted with a bright red face "I love you too!" Lilac stared at him as her face got redder as she shoved a knife into him and turned away while shouting "Y-you can't just shout that out in the middle of a park." Felix pulled the knife out of his stomach as he pulled her closer and said "I mean it, I'd like to take things to the next level!" Lilac's face continued to get even redder as she shouted "D-d-don't… y-your gonna… s-stop!" Lilac pulled out another knife and stabbed him in his forehead as she nervously said "I-I get it okay!"
As Felix laid there Lilac said, "I-I'm sorry… for forcing you to respond to me… and track me down… so please just act like you normally do and stop trying to comfort me like this" while looking embarrassed. As Felix stood up he pulled the knife from his head and said "But I mean it, every word… I truly love you!" Lilac stared at him for a few more moments and then turned around while blushing as she said "P-please… stop repeating it… it's… embarrassing." Felix put his hand on her shoulder as he said "So please, let's go home together right now." Lilac turned to him slowly as she nervously said "O-okay." Felix stared at her flustered face as he thought "That actually worked?" As he thought this he heard the voice say "Of course it worked, everything I had you say was coming straight from her own desires." Lilac nervously held her hand out as she asked "D-do you think… we'd be able to hold hands… on our way back?" As Felix held her hand he smiled and said "Sure." As he held her hand she quickly stabbed him with a knife in the side, let go of his hand, and said "I-I'm sorry… I'm just not mentally ready yet" while covering her eyes.
As Felix pulled the knife out of his side the voice said "I'll leave the rest of this to you and continue to watch for now." Felix handed her the knives back as he said "Don't worry about it, we'll take it one step at a time, okay?" Lilac nodded as she said, "I-I'll be mentally prepared next time." As the wind blew the leaf out of Felix's hair he changed back into a fox and then looked up at Lilac nervously as he thought "This kinda kills the mood… she's probably mad." As Lilac picked him up she began to walk as she nervously said "I-I suppose I'll manage with... holding you instead... of your... h-hand for now." As she carried Felix he stared ahead and thought "She's not mad? Or is it because we're out in public?" Felix glanced at her and seen her still red face as he thought "If I could see her mouth it would probably be easier to tell… but I think… she's happy."
