I didn't really know what to expect this coming week. Whether they were going to just confine me to this chair and maybe torture me or the might have been planning something even worse. Fortunately that thought remained nothing but a thought. At around midday they untied me with much caution and presented to me the second meal I'd be having in my short stay on this new world.
The meal itself was okay, meat stew with some veggies on the side, though I couldn't tell what type of meat it was. However much I had been released from the ropes they still restricted my movements to this very room. Whenever I had to use the can, they'd have one person on me, the others all still on high alert for any sort of escape I might plan. To be honest, I had no such intentions at the moment. These guys were to vigilant, plus they had their weapons to boot. I wasn't risking getting skewered over some sh*tty escape plan.
Later on they also allowed me a chance at the first bath in a while. Lucky me this cabin had a bathroom, even if it was a mere bucket filled with cold water, I gladly accepted it as long as I could get the filth and stink of me.
I would have loved to have a change of clothes too but there weren't any spare available. The two men didn't seem like they'd share theirs, not that Baldy's would have been a fit anyway. Good enough the girl promised to bring me some extra clothes in due time. I'll just have to trust her.
As far as my stay here was concerned, it was generally smooth. They didn't confine me to a chair anymore only that they now watched over me all the time. They also gave me some sheets to spread on the floor when I wanted to sleep and of course one of them would stay and watch over me all night.
For the week that I was supposed to be their unwilling guest I followed the same cycle of sleeping, eating, going on bathroom breaks and nothing else really. The three also made it a habit of not talking to me at all but I did manage to catch their names in their casual conversations.
The big bald guy was named Roy, the other guy Galberth and the lady Reine. I could already pick out that Reine was the most interested in me, so much that she actually got me the clothes she promised along with some sort of medicinal cream that she applied to all the cuts and bruises I'd accumulated so far.
I might say all this but the fact that they're at least treating me a bit better doesn't change the fact that I was their hostage. I had no will of my own and could only do what they said until when I was no longer of use to them. Also coupled by the fact that my one week stay here was only a day away to reaching its end and that really made me restless. So while Reine was tending to my wounds I took the chance to have an actual chat with her and at least get an idea of what they want from me.
"Look, I know you don't want to talk to me but can you please just at least tell me what you want with me?" I asked.
She stopped what she was doing and looked up at me, and this time I had a clear view of those deep silver eyes. I didn't if she was trying to intimidate me but I wasn't backing down. She got that hint and finally gave in with a sigh.
"If you're really curious I'll tell you," she finished up on the nice cut I got from ol Gardof. She pulled up her own seat and that just told me this was going to be a long story.
"You're here right now because you're the last crucial piece I need to bring back the one person that will save as from the suffering we've had to endure from this kingdom..." okay now I'm more confused.
"What do you mean? Like do you need my blood or something?"
"No, we need your body. You're the perfect vessel to host Ouras since your energy is the most compatible with his that I've ever come across..." she said it with this serious look on her I doubt she was just trying to pull my leg.
"What?! You want me to get possessed by some ghost?" I was having a hard time believing this.
"Not a ghost, we'll place his actual soul in you. Once that's done I doubt your conciousness we'll be able to survive the struggle for your body. In essence, it will be your end..." she paused gauging my reaction, which was what you'd typically expect.
"Why me? I don't even belong to this world! I forced here just to end up as some sacrifice for your stupid revenge. I won't allow it!" I was about to spring from my chair and run for it but she was already expecting it.
I never even saw the kick coming, just brute force slamming into my chest making both me and my seat go over. She pinned me to the floor while the other two ran into the room attracted by the commotion. Within a few minutes I was back to the familiar feeling of being strapped to a chair, looking at the three.
"It would have been better if you didn't know. This isn't just some stupid revenge as you claim. Being branded a threat from birth and having to hide your existence from the world just to survive because a few people fear something that couldn't control!" The rage coming from Reine was just as real as the one I held. And maybe I don't have any justification to call her seeking retribution stupid, but that doesn't mean I'm just a convenience for her plan.
"I don't give a sh*t about that or any of you! It doesn't make it right for you to use me however you want at the expense of my life," I wasn't going to hold back my emotions.
"What life? You were nothing but a thug set to rot your life away in a prison cell. You're worth nothing compared to the salvation Ouras will bring us," It was Galberth who spoke this time, the contempt in his tone loud and clear.
"And who are you to judge the worth of my life? Who are you to decide what happens to me? You look like nothing but a killer. Maybe you all deserve to be hunted," I spat back and Galberth wasn't liking any of it. He was about to make his way to me but Reine held him back.
"No need for that. It has already been decided. For the sake of those who died to capture this man and for those who have died at the hands of this nation. We will bring back Ouras, and he shall use his power to tear down that despicable government and set all free. There is nothing more to discuss." Galberth silently listened and held back his anger, the same could not be said for me.
"F*ck all of you! You think I'll just roll down to whatever you want me to do? No way, I'll get out of here one way or another, you hear me..." while I kept on cursing at them I struggled against the chair, rocking back and forth, trying to slip out of those ropes.
"Put him to sleep, we need his body to survive the process. We can't be having him hurting himself," At her word Roy came and held me while Galberth took out a vial of something. I wasn't going to drink that, no way. However how was I to go against Roy's power as he pried open my lips while Galberth forced down the liquid. I felt all my energy drain, my eyelids getting heavier while my vision slowly faded to complete darkness.
"Call Adalla, tell her to get ready for tomorrow..." that was the last thing I heard before I lost my conciousness.
