Chapter 1 - Prologue

When time first began, there were three Gods that ruled the universe – Fate, Time and Change.

Fate was in charge of purpose.

Time was in charge of progression.

Change was in charge of alterations of both Fate and Time.

Change worked alone most of the time, with neither Time nor Fate interfering with her work. She oversaw the work that Fate and Time did as they blossomed the universe with planets, stars, moons and suns.

When humans had came to be, Fate ensured their rule upon the lands. Time ensured that Fate would be successful.

But Change saw this and told them that humans would turn greedy and purge those different from them. Fate knew this but did not do anything for it was beyond his scope of work.

Time knew this but did not do anything for it was a natural progression.

Change did not like this.

Without completely altering the work that Fate and Time did, Change made a pocket in the Earth where neither Fate nor Time existed. It would be there that Fate and Time would be changed.

Change foresaw the world as she created the dark caves and large beasts, she foresaw the direction where humans would walk towards when she created the iridescent gem. She foresaw the destruction and peace that followed along when she created a place where humans would deem "magical".

Time and Fate would rule majority of life on Earth.

But Change will be there for a moment – or maybe an infinity – to secure her place on this little blue planet.

Where neither Fate nor Time could amend, Change would always be there.

When the Earth had formed and centuries had passed, the world no longer believed in Gods, magic nor powers. The humans didn't understand it and therefore refused to acknowledge it.

What couldn't be explained by the stars or science were brushed off to be merely mythical.

But there was a substantial some that knew this to be false.

They possessed unexplainable powers ranging from seeing loved ones after they have passed to elemental powers that many brushed off to be madness.

And it was these people that knew the truth.

However, powers were not given by inheritance nor hierarchy. The Gem did not favour Kings nor Queens, family nor friend. The Gem knew who deserved powers, who will use them and what role they will play. The Gem kept giving without taking, a simple design made by Change as years played along with the help of Time.

And one day, there would be somebody who would find out the location of the gem.

Somebody that would later name this place The Crossover.

Somebody that would be known as the First Guardian.

Somebody that would carve history without even knowing it.

As Time went by, the gem called to people all around the world. It came to them in dreams, in apparitions, in spiritual readings and visions. It came to them in a series of words carefully scattered upon a book, in strange phenomena in the sky and coincidences that were too much of a coincidence.

The community soon grew into a village.

And the village would then be known as Aria.

Magical powers were sacred and protected here when the rest of the world turned against it.

And yet, this was all going to change.
