Sintija's lips were blue and her skin was pale and clammy. Markos checked her over for wounds and found a nasty cut, inflamed red and irritated on her inner right thigh and on her left shoulder. The wounds were only a few inches long but they were deep. "Arrow wounds. These look like they might be it."
Iliana stepped back, her soft voice calm despite how mournful her expression was. "I'll get some more water and compresses for her. You need to carefully suck the poison out."
Markos nodded. "I'll be careful, this can still hurt all of us despite what Mara did for us. Poison is still poison." He held Sintija close, letting his body heat warm her. He pressed his lips against hers, offering up some of his energy to her to bring her temperature up. Sintija murmured, weakly returning the kiss as some of his warmth passed between them, leaving him slightly tired as she reached up to touch his face.
