Chapter 13 - He Worries About Her

He was going to risk it for her.

Bacchus had made up his mind; he had been thinking a lot about Jade since Hera's visit and it caused his stomach to churn with worry.

"I have to see the Old Sage"

So, Bacchus prepared for the journey and mentally readied himself to transmigrate into Jade's own universe, something he had never done because he had never had a reason to. But, Jade was more than enough reason at this time. He had to save her life. He had to do something...

Packing a light bag consisting of some refreshments he would need during the journey, some magic dust, and his cloak, Bacchus set out full of hope.

He needed all the luck he could gather because the sage he was going to seek help from was a difficult one, who didn't have a soft spot for humans at all. Bacchus' mind was reeling with excuses he was going to give to win the favor and help from this tough sage.

At some point, he wondered if what he was doing was the wise thing to do.

[Hera is out to get Jade just because of a pendant... hungry for power]. And he knew what people hungry for power could do, he had seen it with a partner of his that embraced his dark side in search for darker abilities; his friend stopped at nothing to acquire more magic and was swallowed up by the same dark spirit he had summoned.

Then he left the house, whistling to himself tunes he had formed many years ago just to keep his mind from drifting to the worst. But it was futile.

[What if Hera had gotten to Jade already? Will Jade be able to stand against her?]

Even he had had a hard time against her manipulation and yes, seduction with those huge breasts of hers. Bacchus blushed a bit at how he fell easily that day.

Getting to Mount Zeep, the mountain that housed the Old Sage, the rule was known all around Goaz that you should never wear clothes on getting to the mountain. The vegetation that marked the starting point was blood red in color; seeing the change of color in the plants would tell you when to strip off your garments.

Bacchus had always thought it was just to humiliate people... The Old Frog.

He shook his head, dropped his little bag, and removed the only clothing he was wearing- his shorts. He had folded his cloak neatly and kept it inside the bag which he hid now behind a large stone on the left.

The cave was so cold and eerie..."Why wouldn't it be?". He wanted to be done already and get the hell out of that place, back to the comfort of his home.

"I bet even Cones wouldn't feel as weird as this mountain"

Just as he was playing with the thoughts in his head, he heard a voice; "What business do you have here, Satyr?"

Bacchus looked around but didn't see the owner of the voice he had just heard.

"What do you want?", the voice said again.

"At least, can I see who I should be responding to?", he was beginning to get irritated.

"You do not have to see to reply, Satyr"

"I am Bacchus, and yes, I have to see so that I will be sure that I am not hallucinating"

"Why will you not hallucinate with the large bottle of wine in your bag outside?"

"Argh...", he tried to walk forward but barged into a force field that wasn't visible to the eyes.

"What game is this? Okay...'voice', I have come to see the Old Sage. It is very important that I see him. Can you let me through?"

Just then, the wall on his right moved he was being mesmerized. He shut his eyes and shook his head...[I will have a headache before I leave this place], Bacchus thought.

A slender being with the head of a sea horse and the body of a kangaroo stood before Bacchus, "Follow me then, and that is only because I do not sense ill motive coming from you. Luck is with you today, Satyr"

"Bacchus"

"I heard you the first time"

* * *

"The Old Sage will see you now"... "GAWK"...

Bacchus was a bit surprised... a black raven had just spoken to him, but then again, this was Goaz, and one should be ready to see anything in this world.

"Greetings, Old One"

"Hmmm"... was the response Bacchus got. When he looked up, he saw that the old frog was even fatter than what the people of Goaz had described. He covered a very large area and had different beings fanning him with colorful feathers that looked like they had been forced out of fourteen peacocks.

"Are you done staring?"

Bacchus caught himself..."I am sorry, Old One. I am just in awe of your beauty and vastness. I came to ask for a favor"

"Oh? That is what everyone comes in here for. What makes you different from them?"
