Chapter 48
"I have a plan,don't worry" Damien suddenly said
" okay shoot"
" we've been trying to get a contract approved by one of the biggest companies in the country and ....
" if we can get that approved together,we might have a chance....." I reasoned
" Bingo " he replied with excitement,agreeing to what I said.
So the reason why the mayor was so mad at Damien having a vacation and the reason why he's been punished severely is not only because he hates me but because he wants the contract approved.
I was worried and wondering about how I we would pull it off together,because that is the only way Damien's father can trust me to at least have a say in the company's operations and relieve Damien of the work so that he would be able to focus on painting.
Damien noticed my silence and perceived that I was doubting myself
" I know you can do this. I have no doubt " He said,interrupting my thoughts.
" How can you even be so sure?. I don't even know how to go about this . I've always envisioned myself owning a company and running it but I never thought I would get to this point where I'm confused and a little scared..." I replied fondling my fingers like I always do whenever I'm anxious.
Damien put his arm on my shoulders and said " Look at me, you are the most creative and intelligent lady I've ever seen. I know you can pull this off,I'm ready to provide you with any information that you need"
As I behold Damien I could see his faith and his assuring eyes so I agreed.
" Won't you mail Miss Beatrice to Inform her of your decision?" I asked
" I want us to be sure that we are able to make a deal with father before I get back to the art company. All we need to do now is to wait for father to arrive from his trip" Damien replied.
Having said that,Damien pulled me in for a kiss but then he didn't stop there, he wanted more . I moved backwards and then said
" How about you take me to see our house before hand ?"
I walked towards the closet as if I wanted to pick an outfit.
He chuckled softly,so I stopped mid way to listena and he replied " Not yet,I want it to be a surprise. You know Seraphine...while building the house, I had envisioned a lot of things I would do with my future wife and kids even though I didn't know who it'll be.I'm sure you will love it when you see it"
I smiled and couldn't believe everything would go well. Who would have thought that I would be married to Damien.

Three days later ,the mayor got back from his trip . I was elated not because he came back from his trip but because we would be going to our house soon. The next day Damien told him about our plan to leave.
Damien and I both knew he would disagree so we had another back up plan .
But to our surprise he said " No problem,you can both move out anytime you want to".
" uhn?" I couldn't hide my surprise when I heard that. It didn't feel right but then it was all in our favor.
" Hmm at last!" I sighed.
After deliberations and contemplations . We finally decided to move out the next day. We had only few possessions to carry so it was easier .
The morning of our departure,I told Mum and dad and even Anna . I couldn't tell them the location because Damien didn't tell me .
When we were done packing mother and Diane came out to bid us farewell and promised to visit soon.
" I will miss you Seraphine" Diane said with teary eyes.
" Don't worry,I'll come check on you all".
Throughout the emotional talk,the mayor didn't leave his study,
I and Damien went to announce our departure but he wasn't moved ,he only replied coldly. That was when I realized that he might have been sad about us leaving but wouldn't bring himself to say it.
We got into the car and as always, Damien drove it himself. On our way he said " One more thing about the house is it's close to your parents house. Isn't that great?"
" Really? . I can't wait to get there " I replied.
We both laughed and he held my hand whilst controlling the steering wheel with the other ." How about we go on our first real date tonight?"
" I'll think about it" I replied jokingly
And then all of a sudden,the car was uncontrollable. It kept going,the break weren't functioning. Damien tried to control the steering so as to avoid bumping into something at such high speed.
That moment I remembered the route,it looked familiar,it was where Melody attacked me some months ago.
" Damien!" I shrieked as I saw that the car was heading towards a cliff .
" We have to get off" he announced. " You should get off first babe" he added.
" No ! Let's get off the car together " I replied adamantly.
" We don't have much time pls" he said and he unbuckle my seat belt and opened the door for me to jump out.
" Go!. I'll get off too" He commanded.
I jumped out of the car and rolled into the bushes nearby,my arms and knees were bruised.
I sat on the floor as I watched the car race towards the cliff
" Damien!" I cried out,hot tears rolled down my cheeks as I was scared of what might happen but then the car suddenly stopped.
" uhhh " I sighed in relief knowing that Damien have found a way to stop the car.
I ran towards the car screaming his name at the top of my voice. He came out of the car,smiling then out of nowhere another car drove past me from behind and like a mad man, he hit Damien and both Damien and his car fell down the cliff.
" Damien!!...." I screamed and I knew my life just ended.
