Chapter 10 - Chapter: 9

Iclyn

I lift chimes and the door parts, I tear my gaze from Leo and walk out. He followed me with a sigh. Other boys were already there, working. I walk in and they smile at me.

"Iclyn your desk is here!" Ian flashes his boxy smile and gesture at the white desk.

White?

Is it specially personalized?

"I thought white might be better for you," Logan shyly said and look at his computer, avoiding my gaze.

"Thanks," I said and walk over to my desk. I slide on the coat and sat on the chair.

"It's weird," Jack mumbled

"What is weird?" Owen asked.

"The man who is dead does not have any record. He is not registered," he said.

"Maybe he is from another country," Aiden said.

"Well, Iclyn I want to talk to you," Austin stares at me and I raise my brow.

"Okay," I nod. His desk was right beside me.

"The river, it was frozen by you?" He asked tilting his head.

"Yes," I replied.

There was silence. A long silence.

"Why?" Austin's gaze was piercing, if I was a normal human being, I might be scared.

But I am not a human.

"I can't tell you. Trust me it's for your good. The less you know about me the better," I told them.

"Iclyn you have to speak. A citizen was found dead in an ice block, I know even that was done by you. The ice smell like lavender," Leo said.

"The citizen is not of your country. Nor this world. He was from my world. I froze him to death because he betrayed me," I told them sternly, anger rush through me, and they immediately back out by my piercing gaze.

I close my eyes, it's not their fault. I shouldn't scare them.

"What ar-

"Even his body might have vanished already," I interrupt Logan.

Again there was a silence.

Aiden abruptly stands, "I will check the body," he muttered and vanished behind the glass door.

Everyone was peering at me, I ignore their gazes and look at the computer.

After a while Aiden arrives, he looked sweaty and a little pale.

"The body isn't there," he quietly announced.

"Told you," I stated.

"So you are saying that man was from your world and you killed him," Austin asked.

I nod.

"Why did you kill him?" Leo stared at me in disbelief.

"He would have to kill you if I didn't kill him," I told him, looking in his eyes so he would know I am not lying.

"Bullshit!" He yelled.

"Iclyn I guess you owe us an explanation. You keep saying you are here to save Jungkook, we need to know everything if it's related to him. Also, you are working with us and staying with us, an explanation is the least you can offer us," Logan said.

"I will tell you everything. Just wait a little longer," I told them.

They nod in understanding except Leo.

His face told me that he didn't believe a single thing I said.

"Well, how did you get this Job?" Jack, ask curiously. Ian and Owen look at me innocently as if I was telling them a story.

"I put a spell on your HOD. So he took me in as an officer," I shrug.

"Y-you hypnotize the HOD?" Owen asked, he has so puffy cheeks, he looks cute.

"Yeah," I said.

"Then everything is a lie. Your IQ over 200? Extraordinary?" Leo scoffed.

This kid surely has a brain problem

"I am a Queen. I rule a damn world that is twice large as this world, and there is a reason for that. You will see my IQ when we will solve the cases, also don't show me that attitude kid, I will smack you to the next century and back!" I snap at him.

He rolled his eyes.

"Yo-

The main phone rings loudly. The members look at each other and Leo picks the phone.

"Seoul special task force," he said, his voice just flips from smooth to stern and serious.

"Okay. We will be there," he hangs up and sighs.

"Murder case in Velvet Plaza," he said. The team was immediately on their feet.

"I will get the kit," Aiden said and beckoned me to follow him.

He told me the name of the tools as he packed them one by one. Bindle paper, Biohazard bags, Consent/search forms, crime scene barricade tape, first-aid kit, flares, flashlight, extra batteries, coin envelopes, disposable scalpels, distilled water, ethanol, evidence identifiers, and latex gloves. I immediately memorize them.

They got in their respective cars. I saw Leo frowning when I climb in Aiden's car instead of his.

"Seems like he was waiting for you," Aiden said, starting the engine.

"He just keeps pouting the whole witchdam ride when I sit with him," I shake my head making him chuckle.

"You are quite handsome, I don't have handsome boys in my world," I told him.

"I am worldwide handsome Aiden," he said and blew a kiss.

I laughed.

"That was iconic," I said.

"You can try it too," he said grinning.

"I am Frostopia wide beautiful!" I blew a kiss.

He kept his hand on his chest.

"You can't do that better than me," he playfully glares at me. Then look at the street taking left.

"I just did," I wink at him.

We laugh again.

Am I smiling?

How?

Can I smile?

It's good to smile.

We just talk a bit as we reach the crime scene. Jin is easy to talk to. He has told me some funny stories about him and the boys. Seems like he cares for them a lot.

We climb off the car, walk into the huge luxurious glass building. We reach the first floor and I slide on the latex gloves. The apartment on the corner was surrounded by some people. I saw Austin and Logan talking with the neighbors. They look at me and nod. We step into the apartment. The living room was messy as hell, glasses were broken and almost everything was shattered. Ian and Jack were examining the living room.

"Hey boys, be careful, the glass pieces might pierce," Aiden told them, they caught out glimpse and smiled

"Okay, you both check the bedroom, it's a mess," Jack said shaking his head. We heard a loud sobbing sound as we walk to the bedroom.

The blood was dispersed everywhere in the room. A dead body of a woman in her mid-30s was laying on the bed and blood was oozing out of her throat.

A man was sobbing and Owen was trying to talk to him.

Leo was examining the area, his eyes met mine and then flicker to Aiden

We both walk-in carefully, Leo gave us room to check the body. Aiden kept the vanity box aside and we look at her slitted throat.

"Cut is very deep," he said.

I carefully gaze and shake my head. Human beings are so cruel.

"It's 4 inches deep to be precise," I said. Aiden's eyes flashed towards and I nod.

"Any weapon?" He asked Leo.

"No," he simply said.

The man was sobbing and it was so much distracting us.

"Sir please you need to at least speak," Owen politely said.

"Just the fuck up, at least let me mourn in silence," he yelled.

"Yah! If you want to silent just get out of this witchdam room and cry your eyes! Don't you dare curse at these boys you piece of shit or I will freeze you to death!" I yelled glaring at him.

The man's eyes widened but he silently stands and walks out of the room.

"Hey! You can't talk to him like that!" Leo snapped.

"Are you his wife? Stop defending him, now it's silence so look for the clues instead of modeling," I roll my eyes at him.

"I guess you are the only sane in our team," Austin walks in with Logan

"Now I am hurt," Logan said.

"Truth hurts," I and Austin both asserted simultaneously. We look at each other and smile.

We both will get along well.

"The neighbors didn't hear a thing," Logan sighed.

"Wow they must be deaf," I state helping Aiden to collect the blood sample.

"If they heard they are refusing to speak," Austin mumbled.

"The CCTV footage is not available as the building is under maintenance," Ian stepped into the room.

They all sighed and look at the body.

"The body has so many external injuries. She must have struggled a lot," Aiden sadly said.

"Let's head back. Then you can obtain a postmortem report of the body," Logan told him and we nodded.

We all headed back. The body was collected by some other people.

"Ride with me," Leo whispered in my ear and stepped into the elevator.

What?

I climb was about to into Jungkook's car but stop when Aiden looks at me.

"Oh I thought we could go back together, I had fun talking with you," he said smiling.

"Let's talk at home," I smile at him and he nodded.

Logan stared at me and his eyebrows scrunched. He walks over and wipes something from my cheek with the back of his hand.

"Sorry. There was blood," he murmured and his dimples pop in his cheeks.

"Thanks," I smile.

"Are you going to stay here forever?" Leo's irritating voice snapped and I roll my eyes climbing into the car. He started the engine.

We both were silent for a reasonable time and he sigh.

"Don't ride with someone else. I will drive you wherever you want," he muttered.
