The unique title of Undying should have elated Nineth Immortal, but nothing could be further from the truth at this very moment. She is in a different kind of pain. Her heart is breaking into pieces as the Dragon God egg. She cared for and just fell out of her soul's space and crumbled.
She can only blame herself. The continued deaths must have damaged her soul to the point that the egg could no longer survive. Her and Tyr's efforts have gone to waste now, after all, that Nineth Immortal is left with nothing but perfectly triangular-shaped eggshells.
Talia hadn't stopped attacking, as the girl had finally fallen into genuine despair. Nineth Immortals attacks were shallower than before, only performed as a traumatic reflex.
