Unbeknownst to Nineth Immortal every time she died her Dragon God Egg cracked. It was why with each death she was staying longer in the ethereal realm. The realm had to repair the parts of her spirit that were being absorbed by the Dragon God's egg. Normally this wouldn't affect her as her deaths would be far apart. Of more import is the fact that the rapid growth has altered the dragon egg. It takes years to grow a dragon god egg. In response to trying to preserve the life of its master the Dragon Egg started to transform.
