From the first night Reyna landed in the mortal realm residence, Miran had been sure that there was a story to her and not a happy one. She had been too still for a mortal and too unruly to be a Guardian. She knew neither the basic Guardian ethics nor the common mortal mannerisms, both of which he was well versed. Every time he learnt something knew about her, Miran realized just how less he knew her.
Trying to get close to her had been a struggle. Reyna barely talked and until a few days before, she never smiled. But even with all that he would have never guessed she had not only been subjected torture but dragged through hell and back. He held her to reassure himself she felt no pain, that she was safe now. Reyna didn't cry but she did not need to for him to know she wasn't okay.
