A loud rumble stunned his hearing. Since he was almost at the end of the third layer, the walls were so high that even if the sky was blue and clear, he wouldn't be able to see it, but along with that rumble, a monstrous amount of thunder and lightning lit up the sky.

Yes, it manifested in the form of a dot that continued to enlarge and enlarge until a blinding white light, with a supreme aura radiating off it made him close his eyes.
That aura gave him an urge to submit himself to it, to prostrate in worship, and to allow it to approach him while he lay there vulnerably.
If he was still outside the left opening, he might have had some thoughts of rebelling against that natural and instinctive urge, but as he was at that point, he had neither energy nor will to stand up against anything.
