Chapter 47 - King was lost

- ``You say you didn't know of...''

- ``therianthrope''

- ``Yes, before you ended your high school. Don't you consider it was a risk for all your colleges until then?''

- ``I am a lycan-woman, though I don't think any other family is less in control than we are, we only have sharper teeth than humans. I was no match for any of the knife armed colleagues I had, nor was I any threat for the others. I now am no worse than any ex-soldier, though I have no traumas and tougher laws apply to me as well, so I am kept in shape. But I am not here to give you that kind of information. You do not need personal stories, when you meet with the minister he will be prepared to clarify any doubt you might have about our species, statistics and facts. In the meantime I would like you to remember we are your citizens too and deserve to be treated as such. You may consider what you might of us and discuss the appropriate matter to protect the equilibrium and harmony of this nation, as long as you remember we are part of it for as many generations as any other. We helped build the status quo and will reinforce the measures agreed in better judgment between our representative and you, sir.''

The car skidded on the road. - ``We were caught! Hold on please, and protect the president, we are still half way there.'' - Bleach eyes said to both me and the Dark Knight who opened the window and started to get off it holding on to the car's roof.

- ``What are you doing?''

- ``He's elite! Give him some credit, will you? No one is in life threat danger except perhaps you.'' - Bleach eyes kept one hand on the gear and another on the wheel, moving the car erratically, which made the Dark Knight feet jump on the window and his body disappear over the car.

I was helping the sorrow man on my side to fold forward and cover his head, when a strong pain hit me on the stomach.- ``Me?''

Bleach eyes kept his driving but understood my question. - ``You are half-human, so the trainer will have double feelings towards your treasury!'' - He answered without emotion continuing his mechanical movements. The wearied out deep blue eyes touched mine with a new warm confusion, I was living proof that the matter was not, nor should be, simple. He held my hand and I threw myself over his folded body, when a sharp noise pierced the roof top. - ``I promise you mister president, we will get you back safe, before anything bad happens. They will not have time to harm you, I swear!''

``Abandon car!''- Bleach eyes turned back to me and shouted an order I obeyed reluctantly. - ``He will be OK, we have the headquarters!''

I held his hand, then his recoiled head, moving it from my lap to the seat so I could shift my body right towards the door. -``We will meet you there! You will be alright!'' - With one fast movement I opened the door and rolled out on the road. Before I could feel the damage made to my body, strong hands clung my shoulders, unrolling me and pulling me towards the air. I looked up to find Bleach Eyes gaining speed looking ahead as if nothing could rattle him. So I tried to turn my neck as much as I could to see what we were leaving behind. I could only see several wingmen around a black van with its top cut wide and some blood on the floor. I sniffed the air which ran too fast in my nostrils, fighting its way in. I could tell that was from the Dark Knight, together with several other wingmen. My eyes watered, and the sharp pain in my stomach stroke like a blow of air harmfully removed from my lungs. - ``Dark Knight''

A fast small object was projected in our direction growing larger and larger. - ``Turn!'' - My body was tilted fast and the object was avoided, beating my ankle just barely. When I looked back I saw it was a net, between three heavier spheres that spread it.

- ``He will be OK. We will meet him in a moment.'' - My body numbed molded to the fast wind that passed us, I released his wrists... I could no longer hear the fight beneath, I could no longer feel the people we left behind or smell their lively scents, and realized I was actually not feeling anything. The good thing about flying was that you could smell, see and feel so much more, but it seems you could also be shielded from reality by it. As it turns out, you could be silenced by the wind, def by the speed and your breath controlled by the strong air rushing through... and your mind blanked by the wide opened way to your destination.

-``Please meet us at plan B!'' - I heard from over me, breaking my trance of pain and numbness. He was tilting his head to touch with the chin tip the radio button. My heart started pumping frenetically. We weren't through yet! We still had a lot to do, so there was no indulging this vacant moment in order to forget the possibilities and fright of the unknown we left developing.

- ``Roger that!'' - It was Akita who answered. My breath came easier and tears found their way down and slide outwards rushed by the wind on my cheek bones. I felt reassured, knowing he was still with us. - ``How was it? We saw the elite following, still attempted to slow them down... but they diverted us easily.'' - his voice was sweet comfort to my unfocused mind.

- ``They got... knight!'' - A lump grew on my throat as I struggled to finish the sentence. I released the button, regretting this unnecessary comment. I had to share, but bringing it up out loud made it sound so real, so final, so scarry.

- ``We will get him back! We are in place!'' - He had a hidden worry in his voice, but he tried to hide it in the tender and wise sounds. This had the natural relaxing effect on my tight stomach.

We started to lower our flight near a dark alley. Before it was Sonya's car and I just started a compulsory cry with hard sobbing and blurring of my sight and all tremors included. I couldn't see the landing, then again I couldn't feel most of it. My legs moved when the bare feet sole touched the ground, with endless weight and momentum. They felt alien and stopped automatically as soon as the momentum was not impinged from above. I then breathed fast, freeing the diaphragm and fell on my knees, with my hands on the floor. I just let it all out. I breathed hysterically, trembling and crying and when my body started hurting, deciding it still got the nervous impulses to my brain I just stopped. I knew I had no time for it, I knew we were still needed in the second plan. I knew I had to help him and all the others and I wouldn't let myself go in agony until I was done! So I let out a last silent scream, lift an arm to my eyes, wiped the rolling tears from my face and turned my desperation to anger and determination.
