Chapter 40 - Man and Monster

When Sargon came to Theor's side, he could tell theor was slightly less powerful than Murjack. HE saw Murjack. Murjack looks like it's base form was a gargantuan scorpion man. The legs were those of big cats, horses, and birds. Three tails with stingers, one covered in chitin, one in fur, and one in hair. Six arms, a pair of demolike hands, a pair of scorpion claws, and a pair of tentacled hands with barbs. His head had four faces that wrapped around it. All as ugly as the next and sharing different amounts of eyes of different kinds.

"Theor! What's the plan here!", Sargon called to Theor.

"You are strong to cut him. Go for the joints and his less protected areas. Do your best to weaken him while I work on a getting a killing blow. I have already told the others to not join this fight, only you are qualified for this encounter.", Theor said telepathically.

"Alright, I'm on it then"

Sargon took off, targeting the legs first. Now at etherite level, his sword attacks were better in speed, penetration and power. In time he crippled the legs. This pissed off Murjack. Hence Murjack shifted some focus to attack Sargon with armored tentacles from the pores of his body. Sargon did sit still. He avoided the attacks and landed on Murjacks back.

"Time to deal with these tails", he stated.

Sargon had once observed a fight between ants a scorpion. The ants would chew the segment underneath the stinger to remove it was one thing he remembered. "To the stinger then", he said with an smirk.

Running up the moving tail, using an adhesive movement technique to not get thrown off, he reached the of the stinger and started slashing. Murjack only got more enraged as he has no tentacles on his tail, and the tentacles already deployed weren't enough. Sacs started to form on Murjacks back and then burst out with locusts monsters the size of a normal farm pig.

"Disgusting pestilent pest!", Sargon got annoyed from the locust that started to swarm him. Luckily, besides combat training, he from Dexaril monsterology and the weaknesses of various genus of monsters. "Good thing I learned the weakness of bug monsters like these.", Sargon said. He then used his shield to project a discombobulating frequency of sound. The locust stopped swarming him and they were continually falling from the sky from forgetting how to fly.

He continued with the stinger and got the first cut off from the tail. Murjack then suddenly sent a high-energy pulse through his tail, disrupting Sargon's movement technique. At the same time he whipped it through the air. Sargon was then flung into a nearby mountain with a bang, destroying it almost completely.

Laying in the crater Sargon groaned, "What a hit...damn that monstrosity...".

Sargon got up from his crater. His armor was warped in some places and it took a few seconds to reform. He did receive a lot of kinetic shock damage he could feel in his bones. Some of those bones were actually fractured and would a take few minutes to heal because Murjack's energy was corrosive in nature among other things.

Sargon leapt away and rejoined the fight. He climbed up again and went to the other tails. Murjack tried to do the same thing, but Sargon would just jump off and fly before landing again on the tail.

As for why Sargon didn't want to fly in the first place. It's because Ultanium level explosions and magic were all over the sky and he doesn't want to be obliterated. Theor was going all out in the fight, using power that would destroy countries. Sargon was safer sticking close to Murjacks body since Murjack was defending from all the attacks. Sargon finished taking out the other two stingers and Murjack was now in a horrible disadvantage.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH! I will rip you apart Theor! I will shred you puny human and all you love!"

Murjack was thoroughly enraged now and severely weakened. Murjack pooled all his power together to do a huge attack. Theor wasn't expecting such a sudden and desperate attack and was hit by a blast comparable with a nuclear explosion and knocked down.

"Theor!", Sargon yelled out.

"You turn puny human!", Murjack cursed out.

Sargon started running and defending with everything he had now that Murjack was focused on him. Theor then told Sargon telepathically, "I am out of the fight now. I sustained too much damage. My body has been fundamentally disrupted and cannot move or use magic. In a few minutes I will recover my functions. Murjack is now magically as weak as an etherite monster. His body is still tough though. You can fight him in his state. Show your prowess Sargon!"

Sargon smiled, "I will show him the wrath of the heavens now that he has been brought down to my level."

Sargon started counter-attack. Now making full use of his flying ability, he fought an omni-directional battle in the sky. Murjack was somehow hiding 3 pairs of wings inside his back and took to the sky too.

Sargon played it methodically. The joints, the arms, the weak points, were all targeted first. He used borealis on his eyes and made him blind. Now Sargon had the perfect opportunity to behead blinded decrepit Murjack. He went for the wings and cut them apart. Murjack started to fall.

Sargon put away his shield and took his longsword in a two-handed grip.

Sargon empowered his blade and skydived towards Murjacks neck. "Your evil will end here! DEUS VULT!"

Sargon's empowered longsword covered in blue astra slashed Murjack's head and beheaded him in freefall.

Sargon landed atop Murjack's headless body triumphantly. He saw Pharis and Yeseme approach. Theor was starting to get up with Dexaril's aid. Sargon leapt down.

Pharis asked, "What now Master?"

Sargon smiled and scoffed at her, "Of course it's celebration my young squire."

Theor got up and came to the group, "Thank you all for your help in defeating Murjack and his horde. Especially you Sargon. Though immensely weakened, you still an Ultanium foe. Such a feat has never been done by an etherite combatant.

Riva popped out too, "Hey Sargon, I knew you could do it! I was getting worried for a second, but I my worries were relieved. A lot of changes have happened to your astral horizon too, hehe."

"Thank you for the support Riva."

Sargon then said to the party, "I think it is time we go back to sanctuary. Then return from this exciting expedition of ours."

Everyone smiled and agreed. They hopped on Theor and went away from the battlefield as dusk arrived to the world.
