The lunch meeting went smooth without any disagreement. Both made the deal, and the design with be ready in a few days. Chen Rou Jiao also proud of herself after managed to remain profesional from the start when dealing with Li Da Zhan, as her client. The achievement made her believed that she already moved on from him.
The delicious meals also made everyone left the restaurant with a smile on their face. Especially Chen Rou Jiao who gladly approved the delicacies were the best. She even planned to bring her dad and younger brother next time.
CEO Zhang and Li Da Zhan kept talking about the project meanwhile Chen Rou Jiao and President Zhang were already walking in front of them. Meanwhile the valet of the restaurant bringing their cars to entrance.
"Mr. Li, my team will finish up the first draft and will mail it to you in a few days. Are you okay with that?" CEO Zhang said while putting one of his hand in his pocket of his pant. He act of casualty in front of Li Da Zhan made that man felt at ease.
"It's fine with me."
"And one more thing, when is your next visit? I would like to go to the resort with my team to inspect everything before we proceed."
"Mmm.. about that," Li Da Zhan took out his phone and searched for his schedule. After a long silent reading his full schedule for this week only, meeting with the board members, make report and meeting with the organizer of the resort, and a few small matter he need to handle in his company, he only had two day off next week.
He turn off his phone and put it back into the inner pocket of his jacket, the lifted his gaze to face CEO Zhang, "I only free next Wednesday. I think it's enough to had a tour at the resort. What do you say?"
"Okay. It's wednesday then."
Right after they deal with the next meeting, two luxurious cars from different brands came to them in line.
"Okay then Mr. Li, nice to deal with you. And I will look up for our next meeting." He reach his hand towards Li Da Zhan. They shake hands with a glimpse of understanding between each other and parted shortly after. CEO Zhang gave Li Da Zhan a genuine smirk.
Li Da Zhan replied the gesture by smile a bit and nodded slightly. When he shifted to Chen Rou Jiao, his hand suddenly went numb. Before anything getting more weird, he quickly pulled his hand and just nodded slightly to her. Just an act of politeness.
In her mind, Chen Rou Jiao glad he did not further his action. Though she kept being professional during the lunch meeting, but another skin contact between them will made her heart burst. Even right now, she was screaming in her mind and wanted to disappear from his sight. Meeting him after all these years surely gave a great impact to herself.
Li Da Zhan and President Zhang get inside the first car, which was own by President Zhang and he more comfortable to drive by himself rather than using a driver. Despite he already 65 years-old, his sight still worked well and his body was very healthy. Only if he had to drive to other city, he will used a driver. A long journey made him wanted to sleep.
"Okay Ren Hao, Miss Chen. I hope everything going well. I cannot wait for the result from the great designers." President Zhang grinned proudly before he started the engines and drove away with Li Da Zhan.
After bid farewell to the President Zhang and Li Da Zhan, CEO Zhang and Chen Rou Jiao went to the second car. And drove back to their office.
In the car, still quiet. Chen Rou Jiao more comfortable to watch every trees along the road rather than started a conversation with her boss. If six years ago, they might have a nice and great conversation because Chen Rou Jiao loved to talk everything with everyone, even with a strangers, but after the things happened to her, she somehow lost that ability, whether she like it or not.
"What did my father tell you?"
Chen Rou Jiao's body was like getting electric shocked with the sudden question form CEO Zhang. His voice was calm and seems no intention of getting mad or something, but still made her almost jump on her seat when he break the long silent between them without any warning first.
She looked upon him while in dazed. "Hmm?"
CEO Zhang took a glance at her before he focused back on the busy road.
"I am asking you. What did my father said to you when we left the dining room?" CEO Zhang saw they both talked seriously about something but that time, he still waiting for Li Da Zhan to answer his request, so he ignored them. Now he had the opportunity to ask, he will not let it passed him anymore.
Chen Rou Jiao's eyes rolled up, pressing her lips tightly. Tried to remember the conversation between her and President Zhang earlier. Then the bulb in her mind light up!
"Ah.. President Zhang want to bring you and me to an event at City A next month."
"Event? What event?!" They stopped at the traffic light. CEO Zhang used this opportunity to look at Chen Rou Jiao. He seems shocked by it but still can calm down. Meanwhile, Chen Rou Jiao quite startled with his action.
"President Zhang did not tell me more about that. He just want both of us attend the event." she answered truthfully, her face beautiful face appeared innocent and made CEO Zhang just grunted in silent. He return his original position and started to move after the green light appeared.
After he calm down, get his mind together, he sighed deeply. "He should not arrange our time like that. We might be busy for two month for Mr. Li and Miss Yuan's project."
"I... did tell him about that, but President Zhang insisted us to join. And he will make sure it won't mixed up with our work."
"Hmm..."
"...."
"Or maybe you can slow talk with President Zhang, saying about our situation..?"
Chen Rou Jiao was hopeful when she gave that idea. She also not interested to attend any events in the meantime. Her works were like a mountain both at the office and at her house. Designing Miss Yuan's cafe made her ignored other reports, and assignments from her team members. She needs to look over them, before she started Li Da Zhan's resort project.
"He will never listen to me." CEO Zhang said in disappointment.
He knew his father very well. He kept interfered in his life after that accident. The accident that ruined his life and took away the people he loved.
"Just follow what he want."
"Okay, sir."
Chen Rou Jiao looked at his gloomy face. She knew he was thinking of something but she was not in the right place to say or ask anything. She was nobody to him. Thus she decided to stay silent, threw her focused back to the trees. It was more satisfying looked at them. Fresh and made her mind clear.
They stayed like that until they arrived at the office. CEO Zhang parked his car at the parking lot in front of his office.
Before Chen Rou Jiao get out of the car, CEO Zhang gave her some points for Li Da Zhan's project. She got ready with her tablet to jotted down all his orders.
"We shall talked with your team about every information we got from Mr. Li, on tomorrow meeting and tell engineering team to attend too."
"Okay sir. Anything to add?" Chen Rou Jiao chin up, facing her boss with anticipation. When CEO Zhang shook his head, she close the tablet and ready to get out.
"Okay sir. I will proceed all your orders right away. Thank you for the ride sir."
Zhang Ren Hao nodded and watched Chen Rou Jiao left his car with a cold but calm stare.
