"Being silent is always the ideal response to anything that shouted trouble, but occasionally you have to speak up to avoid circling with those troubles."
"Emma, are you listening?"
Maggie Charles, my lone high school buddy looks at me annoyed because I'm spacing out on her again. She was seated in front of me, I once asked her why she didn't just sit next to her, but she just said, she likes sitting next to a window also, and I wasn't prepared to give my space up for. It always worked on her, guess this time I really got caught. I give her a sorry look before spacing out again. Looking at her light brown eyes, tan skin and short dark blue hair.
She is a young lady with a strong propensity of chatting far too much for her own benefit. The interruption came at a good time just as Professor Harriot enters the intimidating classroom with roughly 30 max students, makes the classroom a touch tight due to its tiny size and proximity to the field.
A fortunate timing in which I didn't have to listen to Maggie rant about her relationship troubles , something I have no experience with. I was often getting lost in Professor Harriot's teaching; it was wonderful and helped me think about what he said. He tells us about " Habits prevalent in our daily lives."
The subject is pretty intriguing since we learn about how habits may influence even the least of a person who is subjected to them. A habit that none of us is aware of.
"Good morning, class," a strong voice from the front of the class spoke, disturbing my daydream once more. I glanced up at Professor Harriot, who was dressed neatly in a black suit that was a size to big for him. Even working at a middle school in the south capes , a little community on the outside of California, it was too professional. He wore thick spectacles, which gave him a more mature appearance than he had.
Except for me , everyone else in the little classroom cried loudly, " Good morning, sir."
Only when it was absolutely necessary, I never found myself saying good morning to anyone. Being silent has its advantages, but it was my identity that I discovered when I was a small child. An Identity that is causing me some problems. Looking around the classroom, I noticed that there were just a few students who were looking at the lecturer and others who were doing whatever they wanted.
The lecturer never seemed to care about them and just said , " if you get lost, stay lost because that is where you would find yourself after visiting my classroom." That's what he made us say every morning when we had class with him.
Today was the day to announce that adage. It was a nice statement with a profound meaning that aroused my curiosity from time to time.
The classroom door opened just when Professor Harriot open-end his mouth to speak ,the door makes a cracking sound breaking the silence in the classroom.
I was in a trance sitting by the window in the far left rear , which offered a lovely view of the early sun shining through the classroom on the damp field after the cold and misty morning.
I was often getting lost in this scenery when it suited my mood. It was always appropriate for my mood since it had me thinking about my identity and who I was becoming.
The silences were broken by murmurs and appreciation chuckles. It piqued my interest because what could have been so admirable about being able to laugh in such a way? As if that wasn't enough, i turned to face Maggie, who was sitting in front of me. Her head was up and she was facing forward. She didn't even move an inch , which was surprising given that she was usually saying something.
Curiosity got the best of me , when I nudged on her shoulder,
"Hey Maggie, who's dosing out now?" I can't help giggle a bit. But my distraction are broken a boy walking towards me with coldest stare. He was attractive, with his hazel eyes and short black curly hair that framed in his face.
When I noticed his attention are on me, I feel my stomach do flip flops, as if been caught starring. I quickly look away, afraid to be caught again.
A creaking sound prompted me to peek up and be shocked to find the handsome stranger sitting right next to me.
Looking at him from up close I noticed he appeared to be the same age as me, 18, maybe 19 years old. he had this mysterious aura and I couldn't help noticehe had a tiny frown on his face. He hazel eyes met my blue ones, and for a split second , I felt my heart beat.
